Are we not suffering enough that you'd take that away from us?

Seriously though, it does seem a genuinely odd decision.

From the official FA Cup Twitter Account -

"Hi Liam. The Club of the Round award recognises sides' marketing of their #EmiratesFACup fixtures."

So it doesnt recognize achievement then...

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I didnt know where else to put this -. Potentially very good news for non league clubs

Minnows to get FA Cup TV windfall
exclusive
Matt Hughes, Deputy Football Correspondent

January 6 2017, 12:01am, The Times
The Football Association is considering a radical plan to abolish television appearance fees for FA Cup ties and replace them with increased prize money for all clubs in the competition.

Under proposals backed by senior executives at Wembley, all clubs would receive the same fee at each round of the FA Cup irrespective of whether their tie was broadcast on television, a change that would have the overall effect of more money going to non-League and lower division clubs.

Good luck to all the non league teams in the cup over the weekend.
Mentioned about this on one our message boards.
Man United's last 55 fa cup ties have ALL been on live tv, shocking!

Our biggest attendance since 1990 tomorrow - 4,400 tickets sold. Eager to see how our ramshackle ground, and not-so-astute stewards cope.
We're in a bit of a sticky patch whereas Rochdale have hit form, so this is going to be us scraping a one-nil or a 5-0 embarrassment.

The Football Focus crew are filming live from our Cross Bar, the FA Cup itself will be at Holker Street, and it's not forecast rain! Can't wait.

Wimbledon at home for us. Local derby, both clubs associated heavily with FA Cup romance. And we were the first team to play AFC Wimbledon back in 2002. Nicky Bailey played for Sutton that day and will most likely start this tie. And it's a sellout, 5013 packed into the Lane should be interesting

Wish Robinson would transfer his cup finishing into the league.

2 against Guiseley, 2 against Oldham, 2 against Ipswich.

Could've done without a replay, but more money in the bank! Hopefully a TV game.

Well done Lincoln, but for touches of class from Lawrence you'd be comfortably home and dry into the fourth.

It's a shame Barrow couldn't replicate their WORLDBEATING Cup performance against Tranmere today.

Sounded like Lord Cowley was a few minutes away from being a bit too good AND clever for Ipswich.

Tom Lawrence is a class player though and I used to live round the corner from him, he's certainly my football fwend.

Causes an issue having a replay because it'll be played the Tuesday before the Friday night game against Dover, then away at Barrow the following Tuesday.

Potential for 3 TV games on the trot, though!

Hope so! As a general rule of thumb, the underdogs get one shot at these type of game.

Can't imagine you're likely to bring that many on a Tuesday night?
