We drank pitch side at Corby a few years ago. It's not allowed but hardly enforced at small grounds

Our stewards enforce it. Obviously there's ways to get around it, but it's not worth the bother if you're caught, because our stewards are bellends.

This lucky series of draws in the cup has been a godsend. Getting through two rounds in the cup and now having a win on the board in the league, I think we should be starting to feel confident that...whisper it...the season might not be a complete write off. Harvey is a good manager with a decent record - I feel confident he'll get us up until midtable by the end of the season - and there's actually a hope of a proper cup run.

Hope you're right. A place in the 1st round would be a real tonic

Whether Sutton allow drinking pitchside or not I'm still gonna, it's the FA Cup ffs.

Looking forward to another game on 3G, the way we played on it at Maidstone plus the form we're in now should mean another TOTAL FOOTBALL EXTRAVAGANZA.

Apparently the clubs get serious fines if they are caught allowing it. We enforce the rule strictly as we have to, whereas if we were allowed to sell beer during the game and allow it in sight of the pitch then we'd make a lot more money on bumper crowd cup games.

Honestly it's a silly rule and it should only not be allowed from this stage of the competition (where clubs come in who play at a level where it is not allowed during league games), or possibly the first round proper.

It's even more ridiculous that it's also banned for FA Vase and FA Trophy games.

Yeah, I can imagine.

Two home games v Sudbury and Havant, missed out on a fair bit of bar takings there!

I just find the whole non-drinking in grounds bizarre. I lived most of my life until the age of 25 living in different parts of he world due to my dads Job - South Africa, NZ, Aus, USA, Japan - and pretty much everywhere in every sport u can drink in the ground. And plenty of those countries have as many drink problems as the UK. Surely the days of violence at English football has passed and football fans should be afforded the same rights as any other sport in the UK. I mean I get sh!t-faced at the cricket and Open golf every summer and no one gives a crap except my wife.

I particularly like how you're not allowed to drink in view of the pitch, yet in an Exec Box it's ok. That bit of glass making all the difference!

There's alcohol served around the Stadium at SB but not in view of the pitch. Up until this season, most used to just pour it into soft drink cups but they changed them to transparent cups this season to stop people doing it!

So you're the designated drinker then?

A very important role I always make sure to take very seriously when given the responsibility.

I'm glad it's banned - our fans are mostly cretinous enough as it is.

It's difficult to shake off the old stereotypes, I've spoken to non-football-fans before about my going to the football and it does seem that a number of people are unaware that anything has changed since the seventies, or think that the ban on drinking in view of the pitch is the only think that keeps football fans from kicking lumps out of each other. I guess similar views are held in the corridors of power too, additionally it's hard to campaign for the right to be able to have a pint without coming across as an alcoholic.

I was once asked by a steward at Shrewsbury to take a couple of steps to the left with my pint of lager because from where I had been stood, if I looked towards the tunnel out onto the stand, you could see a tiny sliver of green. To be fair the steward also thought it was a ridiculous rule.

It's worse up in Scotland though where there is a total ban on all alcohol in the ground.

Bit of a balls-up by the fixture computer / Lincolnshire police I noticed. Both Lincoln City AND Lincoln United playing at home on Saturday.

That's gonna be mayhem, don't know how the police are going to keep the two sets of fans apart, the colours aren't even that different so they can't even say, nobody with a red-and-white scarf allowed in this part of the city. I hear Danny Dyer is on his way to Lincoln with a full film crew as we speak, planning to ingratiate himself with the Lincoln United firm and follow them as they look to do battle with the City ultras.

3 full coaches going from Curzon to York on Sat, considering they have about 200 home fans its pretty much the entire fanbase going.

However much the FA Cup is rubbished by the top flight, corporated by the FA or slanted by the press towards the armchair plastics it can still bring people out to support.

Should be a good chance of cup shock also

Oi, stop that! Not that you're wrong or anything. For what it's worth I think this is a narrow win for the Minstermen, because we're at home and while we might be about National League North level, we wouldn't be relegation battle fodder at that level. We pasted an awful-looking Stalybridge Celtic side in pre-season, for what that's worth. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if we managed to lose though.

A bit of a shame that there'll be poor home support because of us being an absolute clusterfuck of a club and McNamara still hanging around in some weird afterlife.

Interesting twist is a small portion of you fanbase (well 20 odd) go watch Curzon afew times, post on our facebook forum, went to games last year and this....may find some home fans would clap an away goal!

Think our chance is now, we have superb away form so really playing at York give a better chance......i hope

There isn't.

Lincoln United fans are basically a mix of Lincoln City fans who can't make away games often and the older generation who've always supported Lincoln United.

Gutted tbf, pretty shit journey home after getting done in the last minute.

Well done Sutton though, looked like they wanted it that bit more esp in the last few minutes. Collins is a fat bastard these days but he looks a quality cb, neither Doidge or Moore got much change out of him. Stearn got his goal as well which was predictable , bit of a soft free kick though.

Anybody know when they announce televised games? Obviously we won't be on telly but if they're doing that stupid Final Score thing we might be moved to the Sunday, would like to know ASAP to arrange transport

Will probably be tomorrow or Friday after all the FA Cup replays have been played

In previous years they certainly haven't waited until after replays. In fact going to a replay was a damn near guaranteed way to prevent having a televised cup tie.

Charlton v Scunthorpe looks a good tie. Especially as the home fans are sure to stage some sort of SHENANIGANS if they're on the box. And it gives everyone the chance to see Josh Morris LIVE.

Should be great fun.

Would have thought Merstham v Oxford United would be a dead cert for TV.

Speaking of drinking at games, the the other week at Bromley I was stood on my tip toes looking over the barrier watching the game with a pint in hand. First time I've ever seen us score with a pint! Full view of the Met and the stewards, they didn't care.

They were absurdly late last year. Our game at Salford didn't get confirmed for the Friday night until about nine games before.

Anyway, what do I need to know about Boreham Wood?

They sh*t in a kettle and leave it in your dressing room if you beat them.
