Didn't see the game - were Tranmere using the old school formation of playing centre-halfs in the middle of the back 4 - if so that may have been the problem. The Mariners are using the new revolutionary Swedish tactics - play Swedish full backs at centre-half and midfielders at full back. We will be trying it again tomorrow - if we concede only 6 it will prove that it is working...

I have a feeling that we’re gonna get a right tonking tomorrow with our patched up defence, I’ve told my lad just to enjoy it no matter what the score as the amount of times in his life he’ll get to be part of a 5500 away support will be few and far between. I’ve been following GTFC since 1990 and in all that time I’ve only twice been in bigger away supports than that (both at Anfield 1998 and 2001).

We have not got the players to play hoofball and turning their defence with balls knocked in behind, with their pace and awareness, is easier said than done. Spurs have been twatting Premier League sides by five and six so there is no disgrace for us. Any League Two side would suffer the same against them.

If it's any consolation for Tranmere, we managed to lose 8-0 against West Ham this season so tonight wasn't too bad in comparison.
