Some interesting replies thank you, that’s the main thing at any club that the fans are happy with how things are progressing. Naturally non of us are winning every week or getting promoted every year, but is there’s a vision to buy into then that’s key. Sadly we have an owner most of our fan base dont want and doesn’t know or have any interest in football and no real vision, which is why you see the likes of 3000 in the first round of the fa cup in stead of 5-6k that it was when fans were behind the club under Parkinson. And why anything other than a win is always greeted with booes. Until we get an owner and board with a clear vision that the fans accept we’re going nowhere.

I don’t want to piss on any Exeter fans’ chips, but your comments and expectations (or lack, thereof) are the same as Crewe. It’s all cyclical. Get good players, get promoted, flog them, get relegated, wait a few years for some more good players to come through, then rinse and repeat.

I'd argue the main difference is the catchment area for talent each club have and the competition for players

Exeter under investigation for making 6 subs last night instead of the permitted 5, round 2 here we come…
Yeah, I literally just saw that when looking at the line-ups. Why did the referee/assistants allow it?

Surely the tie won't be replayed and you'll just get the win? Few Bradford fans on Twitter suggesting it could be replayed. Worse case scenario for both teams. Just take the bloody win

Edwards off for Sparkes in the 58th min (1)

Daniel & Coley off for Caprice and Brown in the 77th (2,3)

Collins and Dieng off for Atangana and Jay in the 89th (4,5)

Nombe on for Key in the 91st (6)

6 Subs definitely used looking at our Twitter feed updates, yet Bradford have been asked to provide evidence for it..

You get an additional sub in extra time?

How have the officials allowed that to happen? If it's happened then Bradford should be awarded the tie or the replay should be at Bradford.

Interesting Debate going on about bringing players through then selling them on.
Unless you are in the top 6 of the premier league it will effect your club.
Even in our premier years we had players who looked to get away to a bigger club.
So I would say the are only half a dozen clubs that are classed as a non selling club.
Everton I would say are a top 10 but will be surprised if Richarlson and Calvert Lewin are there this time next season

(ii) In the Competition Proper, a maximum of nine substitutes may be nominated. Subject to the below a Club may at its discretion use five of those substitute players at any time in a match (including during any period of extra time). Each team is only permitted a maximum of three opportunities to make substitutions during normal time in the Match (excluding half time). If the Match proceeds to extra time, each Club will be permitted to carry over any unused substitution opportunities into extra time and will be permitted an additional (fourth) opportunity to make a substitution (excluding (i) the break between full time and extra time and (ii) at half time of extra time). A substitution can only be made when play is stopped for any reason and the Referee has given permission. Prior to the substitution being made the Club must identify to the Match Officials the number of the player out and the player in, in accordance with the Official Team Sheet.

4th opportunity to make a sub in extra time but no extra sub allowed (unless it was for a concussion).

I seem to remember this happening years ago and the game was replayed. Good job we've not got to worry about booking travel for an away game.

But they were all in normal time
One in ET according to the Exeter Twitter feed.

It used to be 3+1 recently, so I assume it's 5+1 now, although 6 subs overall seems high.

Nombe for Key was at the beginning of extra time

Ah right, doesn't matter though, it's still only 5 subs allowed including extra time. Given the tie was still 0-0 when you made the 6th sub surely means the result should be void. Whether they make us play it again or kick you out remains to be seen, but surely something has to happen.

Poor from the officials not realising

Does this mean we're no longer unbeaten as it might go down as a Bradford win? What an exeter way to lose our record time to focus on the league

Too be fair so many different caveats for different competitions... why not stick at your usual 3 subs for FA Cup?

I was bricking it against Harrogate as we made 4 subs in the league! It was only then I released because they had a lad go off concussed both teams get an extra one!

Be interesting to see if the committee say we're at fault or the officials for allowing us to make an illegal sub. They're the ones who should know the rules, right?

Anything but playing again, we got away with playing an unregistered player or something about ten years ago so wouldn’t be fussed one bit should Exeter get away with this one.

Especially as the tie was 0-0 when they made their 'illegal' 6th sub. If it had have been 3-0 when they made that 6th sub, then I wouldn't be too fussed

Suggestion that the ref was aware and thought it was a concussion sub

This is very interesting.

"SunSport understands the match referee Seb Stockbridge has included the sixth sub in his report.

And he has asked the FA to look into the circumstances of what occurred."
