Head to Head in the league, over the years, it's City 16 wins, Bradford 15 wins and 13 draws, so anybody's guess.

There is only one cup game recorded, in January 1965 in the League Cup, where they beat us 5-3 at SJP.

Our tie v Notts is a proper banana skin. Our home form for about the 5th year running is unacceptably poor. I fear a repeat of last seasons exit to that other National league team called County.

Conclusive proof that Barrow are a bigger club than Bolton. Our game at Banbury is on ITV4.
Your game at Banbury will be attended by less than Stockport bring to the Unibolt........You see historically non league teams bring more to Bolton than they average at home.......Big crowds coming to Bolton from non league teams in the past have included York, Yeovil and yes the very same tinpot BARROW

FA Cup 1st Round

All EFL2 teams involved next weekend.
Good luck to all and especially those against higher opposition.
List of matches below are only those involving EFL2 teams.

Should be a good test against Accrington, they are poor travellers and concede a lot of goals so with our goal scoring of recent weeks we should feel confident of a mini upset going into this one at home.

We really need a win here, a comfortable one to regain a bit of confidence, but I'd be happy scraping through. They are unbeaten for a while, maybe all season so will be full of confidence and have their moment in the sun on TV. I don't have a good feeling about it at all, can't remember the last time we ran out a routine win against lower league opposition in the cup. Lost to Chorley, Shaw Lane, needed a replay against Taunton.

Looking at that Accy squad there’s some really good players in there like McConville, Pell and O’Sullivan to name just three. Be a good challenge for us to see how we can match up to them. Would definitely go full strength for this and then name the youth team for the Tuesday in the Pizza Trophy.

So long as it doesn’t go to a replay am happy.

Our tie against Exeter looks a nailed on draw to me. 14 drawn matches between us in the league so far this season including the 0-0 stalemate at Exeter on the opening day of the season

Yeah anything but a replay for me. We have a midweek the week before and after the replay week so would rather avoid that as league is the priority here, if we can get it done on the day and the same in the second round if we progress and plumb round three game would be the icing but I’d swap that for promotion in a heartbeat.

My third ever visit to Crewe on Saturday. I quite like going to Crewe, ground located close to the train station, few decent pubs within walking distance of the ground, friendly enough place.

Both teams play tippy tappy football so will be interesting to see how the game plays out. Should be a good game. Crewe are rock bottom and the cup is a free hit. McKirdy managed to get himself another silly booking yesterday so is suspended (not sure he is clever enough to arrange to miss a cup game rather than the league but hey ho) and I imagine the squad will be given a go. That said our game against Crawley is likely to be off if we get the same amount of international call ups so maybe Garner will want to play the first xi to keep them match sharp.

Looking forward to a week off from losing in League 2 to lose in the FA Cup instead.

Nailed on away win - which would be our 6th away win a row.

I’d like to see Simpson rested, Dabre start.

I’m a little apprehensive about our tie against Southern League Premier South side Hayes & Yeading United. They’re unbeaten all season including winning all 4 of their home league games. We’ve lost 3 of our last 4 and are experiencing a mini injury crisis.
Matt Gray has never won an FA Cup tie as a manager as well. We don’t have a good record away at either Hayes, Yeading or the post 2007 merged club.

And there’s the role reversal of a notorious non-league cup giantkillers now being a potential league scalp for a non-league side story there.

Bloody hope not. Think we will go for it if its level, like we have in our last few games.
The last thing we need is another game just before our toughest run of fixtures.

Obviously we aren’t notorious cup giantkillers but the role reversal of being the possible Football League scalp for a non league club in a televised FA Cup tie still seems a bit weird.

Given our record on TV and unspectacular FA Cup record St Albans will fancy their chances I reckon.

Hayes & Yeading play at Yeading’s rebuilt old ground now I think? When we first played the merged club it was at Hayes, and then later at Woking. Took them ages to build their current ground.

I suspect FGR have probably the worst FA Cup record of any League team apart from perhaps Harrogate.
It would be fantastic to have a Cup run, something none of us have ever seen.

We have got to the third round twice tbf. Beat Rotherham and Rochdale under Jimmy Harvey, played that classic 3-4 game v Derby. Some brilliant memories be nice to have some more.

Hayes & Yeading do play on the site of the Yeading FC ground ‘The Warren’. The main stand is impressive for their level, the rest of the ground is flat uncovered standing. It’ll be the 4th different venue we’ve played Hayes & Yeading United FC away at, despite the merger only happening in 2007 (Church Road, the old home of Hayes FC, Woking’s Kingfield Stadium at Maidenhead United’s York Road are the other 3)

Indeed we have, following season we lost away to Notts County in the Third Round...would be nice to make it that far again.

It seems bizarre to see highlights from the Derby game with an Italian commentary...almost as funny as Jonah trying to persuade the ref that he got the ball, when he wasn't really anywhere near it.

Exeter (h). Played them away from home on the opening day of the season - a game I can’t really recall.

Anything but a draw, but I suppose it would be refreshing to be in the second-round draw.

1- City (Bratfud)

I thought Bradford played well when they drew at our place on the opening day. I’m expecting a tight game. Will be interesting to see if either of the teams decide to rest anybody. Surely not at our level but you never know these days.

Echoing Firthy's comments, anything but a draw. But likewise I'm edging towards a 1-0 win, but to the capital of Devon.

Haven't played Wycombe for a decent enough time, are they still the Grand Wizards of the Dark Arts?

Do bears shit in the woods?

Played them earlier this season, nothings changed. And they didn't even go a goal up in that one, god knows how bad things would've been if they had.

They played OK, but that Atangana miss still gives me nightmares.
We have a friendly today so a chance for some fringe players to have a run out (and Ben Seymour)

Think Rovers won on an early visit, maybe our first , to Crawley, but don't think we've even managed a draw in recent encounters. Throw in our habit so far of capitulating to struggling teams; Scunny Mansfield... can see how this one's heading. Though we do need the funds from a cup run.
