Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I just hope the allocation is decent, I’m actually free that weekend and it’s not far so I’ll definitely do it if I get a ticket.

I’m no longer in the ‘elite away points club’ as I had to miss Northampton!

Just go in the home end of it sold out they hardly ever segregate and fans used to mixing in

Yeah fair, usually 5/6, wrexham will be in that dodgy welsh channel so that’s one free.

Reckon curzon and us will stand a good chance.
Think BBC have only two slots and TNT have the rest. Beeb will probably go for the bloody Dons Derby.

Stockport County.
People don’t go watch Curzon it’s bloody sad but they are right on doorstep to Man City (it’s about 10 minutes down the road)

On top of that Ashton seems to have a huge man united pub watch clan so they get 800 tops.

I think when we played Wimbledon a few years ago we had maybe at best 1,000 home fans, it sadly isn’t like some other non league clubs where suddenly it is ‘packed’ at big games.

They shall give you a block of the stand and then for segregation issues a terrace behind goal and pretty much most of the side covered terrace.

Curzon have played some excellent stuff for 6-7 seasons now and have one of the best pitches and play some of the most ‘on ground’ football in the conf north but it simply isn’t interesting an area full of glory hunters…..I thought Carlisle was bad for it then seen Manchester is worse
The problem in the Greater Manchester area is you not only have two of the biggest clubs in the country but there are several, pretty well supported Football League or traditional ex Football League sides so non League really does go down the agenda.

I know lots of fellow County supporters from Tameside and a fair few from Tameside are Oldham aswell.

Tameside in general carries so many non league clubs that if you're from Hyde, you go and watch Hyde United, Stalybridge you go and watch Stalybridge, Droylsden you go and watch Droylsden, Ashton itself has two similar sized non league clubs in Curzon and Ashton United.

Altrincham have always been a solidly supported side for Non league levels but they're on the other side of the City really and have a slightly bigger area to tap into with Sale, Trafford etc.

I used to love altrincham, it’s like 10 minutes on the tram from sale

Curzon played Cambridge the other year and only had 1500 there so hopefully we get 1500/2000 odd.

Not sure if it’s likely to make the tele is so it’ll probably be the Friday night, can’t see the police letting Plastic Dons v Proper Dons KO at any time other than 12.30 and that’s a cert to be picked.

'dodgy welsh channel' is a rather dodgy statement.

Kettering Town at home. Cracking tie for Northamptonshire, their reaction in their clubhouse watching along shows how excited they were and I think it’s a tie that will catch the imagination round here. Already had a fair few that wouldn’t bother with a normal cobblers game tell me they’re coming.

I assume Kettering will sell out as their crowds bob around the 1000 mark in the league. Other way round it’s probably on telly but can’t see it being on with it being at Sixfields.

Where do Kettering play now?

I remember being on the terrace at Rockingham Road years ago, I say terrace it was just a slab of concrete really.

Pretty sure they change the kick off times when gams get selected for the BBC extended highlight bollocks too? I’m hoping we stay at 3pm.

They play at Latimer Park in Burton Latimer, it’s an ok set up but can only handle a couple of thousand safely.

They bought some land in Kettering itself a couple of years ago to develop but not sure it’s got too far along.

I think ours could make TV - one of the highest ranking sides, at the time of the draw anyway, away at a side three divisions below and I reckon it might be the biggest gap between the sides in the draw?

Their capacity is capped at 3,000 so I can't imagine they'll be a massive allocation.

Southend away is a good tie for us, relatively local. Macauley Bonne guaranteed to score for them

Yeah Altrincham are a proper Non League team with a good hardcore and a decent catchment area to get the United, City fans down for a big game when you can drag them out the pub. I'd love to see them get a crack at the FL sometime, I think they have potential for growth as a club.

They're a step up in Non League terms history and size wise from the Tameside teams mentioned earlier in the thread including your 1st Round opponents Curzon. I think Alty were a division below a few of them at one time but they'd have never been a smaller club than them.

Altrincham and Macclesfield were always on a par for my money. And they're big rivals. Macclesfield managed to get that FL bounce for a few years before they went bump and started again. Alty have never had that opportunity (not to go bump hopefully)

Altrincham fans used to absolutely hate us when we were in non-league, the whole thing from them was about being proud to be part-time - I believe that went down the shitter as they are now full time.

What a twat their Chairman was as well.

Yep, we had problems dealing with him for Marcus Kelly and Aman Varma? I think the names were.

Great tie as you say, Kettering have been good this season as well so they'll fancy it. Plenty of talent at the top end of the pitch for them to call on.

They had a decent side back then - the tall CB with a long throw, Seddon, Dempster, Boucard. Think they went pop two or three years after that, they must have spent some serious money on their squads under Ladak (who's now in jail/been to jail?).

His problem with us was that Frank Sinclair made an accusation against a guy in the crowd of racial abuse, which they denied and their Chairman got really salty with it ahead of the replay (which they won 2-1 with a last minute winner). Made all sort of bizarre statements in the lead up to that game.

Mark Cooper was manager at the time as well, that's where the Cooper/Lincoln beef comes from, not because of FGR and battling them for the title.

Isn’t Bruno Andrade at Kettering? Went downhill for him big time.
