If you were Wycherley, would you get the P45 written up for Hirst?
I'm usually one of the last ones to be in the manager out camp, and he has been dealt a bad hand with the budget, but the way things are going he'd be getting called into the office. We're just so poor defensively and he's clearly fallen out with some of the young loanees which we just can't afford given they're the only quality attacking outlets in the squad. He can't seem to impact games with subs either. I'm probably influenced by the manner of the performance Saturday, but Hurst has only won 6 games since returning in January.

The cup is vital for us this season to give us a chance to try and strengthen in January to have a shot at staying up

Barnet @ home.. The definition of a potential banana skin.
Go all out, get a couple goals, then bring players off who would need a rest.
Simple
Not this. We were two up against Hartlepool and that didn't end well! 4 goals minimum

Huddersfield playing the same way when they came to us for a point. Absolutely no threat whatsoever. Great win for Tamworth.

Duff was dull as dishwater at Swansea as well.

No words to describe how bad that performance was, fully deserved Tamworth win.

York at home.

No excuses, we have a decent squad and could rotate most of the team, yet still put out a competitive side.

Since competition for places in the squad is seriously high right now (and I mean just to get in the matchday *squad*, let alone the starting XI) then anyone who gives a half-arsed performance will not be easily forgiven.

Shame Huddersfield weren't that dire last week. I do think the plastic pitch made a difference though, whatever Duff said. A few bounces seem to be misjudged

It certainly wasn't a good on either!
That Huddersfield performance is everyone's nightmare from their team in that kinda fixture wasn't it, absolutely terrible.

Plastic pitches are bloody awful though aren't they.

Honestly some folk actually think we should let plastic in the EFL lol.
I saw something from Suttons chairman this morning moaning about it. Good, they can stay in non league.

Only 2770 at Rotherham, perhaps just as well considering they’re getting shown up by Cheltenham.

I realise there’s an FA Cup thread already, but easier to see who is playing in this one etc. Will merge after this weekends fixtures.

Walsall away for us. Not fussed if we get knocked out, want to focus on the league.

And we did indeed lose!

Rotherham also lost, which means out our game that was postponed for internationals in a couple of weeks can now be played on 2nd round weekend. Happy days.

The game at Exeter sounds like fun.

Infact loads of games did and a few shocks too.

It was a great game. Barnet had three shots and scored with all them. We had a lot more but couldn't put it away. Mitchell won a pen with his first action, and Doyle and Bird made a difference.
Nice to see a few goals as that's been our problem this season, now we've had eight in two games!

WSM missing out on a home replay there shows how fucked these new rules are.

Fuck the FA and fuck the EPL.
Yep they deserved it too. Extra time saw them tire badly and we took full advantage

We were very lucky today.
Only showed real battling intent after 80 minutes.
Still, better than Northampton.

Haha, he surely has to go after that. O doubt he'll be going on about signing another 500 players later

This is a laughable comment coming from a burton fan, but fuck me Northampton were absolutely terrible.
Kettering looked excellent. Really up for it.

Maybe not them but I did read non-league sides wanted to scrap replays...

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Apart from an odd pure chance replay vs a Liverpool or man united what money do any sides really get from replays?

Personally don’t mind removing them and having extra time, the only aspect I hate is the bigger clubs and fa trying to claim it’s to help the players then add all these ridiculous extra European and international games which need binned

What a truly mental game of football.

Barnet looked very decent, mind. Took their chances, we were just lucky we had about 428 of them to put 5 away.
Their 15, Ryan Glover looked a real player. They were out on their feet by the end, their injury crisis is mental. Could only put 6 players on the bench, and 5 of them were defenders.

Mitchell back doing what Mitchell does. Jay Bird looks a real player too, just gotta get him used to the full time football and the workload that brings. Makes such a difference having players on the bench who can come on and make a difference.

Someone else from non league at home in R2 please.

Did Anthony Hartigan in midfield stand out at all for them?

Utterly abysmal. Not booed a team off under Brady until tonight. Fully deserved Kettering win, we’ve all been there haven’t we, not a lot to be said.

I’m struggling to think of a cup embarrassment for Mansfield in my time, sure it’s happened but maybe not too bad considering I cannot remember it, now I’ve said that tomorrow will probably be the day.
