We don't have any fit strikers and we got tossed out by a non-league side, so don't think that's a universal rule.

To be fair you only made two changes since your last league game, we made 7 as we'd played midweek so not sure your manager could be accused of not being up front.

It was just of them for me, we usually fuck our early chances up, we took them and then at like 2-0 in the pissing rain, I thought it was your players who gave up.

Kept the Gas out for an hour, conceded the usual soft goal from a set piece and, despite huffing and puffing couldn't force an equaliser.

That’s true, but if the manager has made it obvious to the players where his priorities lay it’s not surprising if they take a day off. It’s not as if it’s the first time, either. It sucks.

We were rubbish, could not defend a corner, Grimsby were better and deserved it. Not a lot more to say. Big concern for us is the two injuries. Enjoy your cup run Grismby and I hope you can keep hold of Glennon his crosses were much much better than ours.

Stewards were very friendly before the game, and with 10 minutes to go when there was a medical incident they acted very swiftly and effectively.

I really liked the old-style ground, very coherent and balanced, but can you explain why the seats in 3 of the 4 stands are red not in your black and white?

Anyway enough of the extraneous stuff, now to the important things: the fish and chips. We never found Steels, and the bloke in the Tourist Information Centre recommended Browns and he was just off to his lunch there. However, we went over and felt the cafe was a bit small for us. So went over to Papa’s on the Pier and ate in the ballroom. Lots of families there, a sense that it was a real treat. My haddock was huge, more like a whale. Very tasty, though the batter is lighter and crispier than what we are used to. The lad had the platter and included his first ever Hull Pattie (I lived in Hull for six years and these between a barm were a frequent soaker upper of beer). Sadly our day had already peaked and we had unknowingly enjoyed the best bit by 1.30

We have red socks, and there has been much debate over the years about this, when the club have moved away from this...

Actually, I've no idea why we have red seats. The stand to your right used to have a terraced front and bench seats behind. This was when the ground capacity was 24k with 22k standing. The fire officer insisted that the terracing was removed after our promotion to the old Division 2 in 1980 and red seats were installed, probably the cheapest the club could get.

So you think that prior to every cup game he should announce that "we are not really up for today as our priorities are our league position and as a result I'd think twice about travelling the length of the country"? Considering that we had our full strength available side out, bar Gladwin, I'd say that his priority for yesterday was to win. Perhaps the fact that the team didn't perform wasn't necessarily the fault of the manager

He said the same before Walsall in the League Cup and all 3 games in the Pizza Cup. We lost the lot. It’s obvious the cups are not a priority and I’ve really not got a major problem with that. Obviously he can’t come out and say we have no interest but if he gets in the player’s ears before cup games about taking it easy, don’t get injured, don’t pick up any red cards then it’s no wonder the players put in such lack lustre performances. But he should consider the fans who attend expecting the team to be firing on all cylinders after spending their hard earned money - especially away from home.

I think we can all agree that the FA Cup is tinpot and the real glory is in the Surrey Senior Cup…..

I was fortunate enough to miss Saturday, but the result speaks for itself. As a Sutton supporter I’ve been blessed with a lineage of non-league beating league cup upsets, however it sucks on the other side.

Saturday didn’t happen in a vacuum, 5 wins in 15 in all competitions is at best a mediocre run of form. Whilst our injury list doesn’t help (I’m not sure it’s not as bad as Carlisle’s - we only have 5 key players out for multiple month injuries at the moment, ignoring the other knocks and niggles) conceding late goals doesn’t help either, both Farnborough goals came after 85 minutes on Saturday.

I’m reaching but the only benefit is the week off at the end of the month (after a light month fixture wise)

He’s going to be judged on where we finish in the league, not getting through a couple of rounds of the FA cup. And that’s fair enough. But don’t try and kid the fans we’re going all out to win when it’s plain for all to see, we did no such thing

Yeah as mentioned further up, we've pretty much always had red on our kits in some way shape or form for as long as I can remember at least. It was probably just cheaper to get red ones to be honest though!
