That was probably one of the worst matches I have ever been to... it's definitely up there. The most entertainment before penalties was how bad James Baxendale was in his 15 minute cameo. Not only was he laughably poor, but he actually changed the game in that he actually moved around and broke into a jog - he fucked it up when he got the ball mind you.

Deserved that though as Chesterfield did nothing but defend, didn't look interesting in scoring whatsoever.

We are concentrating on not conceding which is an improvement since the removal of Deanosaur. Actually scoring at the other end is proving difficult though.

Still gutted. I wasn't there last night as I struggle to make midweek games over 100 or so miles away but listening to the commentary it sounded like we were the better team again but at the end of the day we haven't managed to score in 180 minutes and we all know that goals win games but I think our players can be proud of themselves. Even the commentators on Radio Shropshire said we could really have won 4 or 5 nil.

Bodes well for the league though as if we can reproduce that form until the end of the season we should give ourselves a great chance of finally getting out of this league.

Great turnout by our fans last night too for a night game over 3 hours away (286) and sounded very loud on the commentary too.

I think the powers at Chelsea realised that and had to take serious action. Inevitable, I suppose, after confirming our place last Tuesday against another one of those London clubs. Problem is, they'll all want to play for the new manager and that'll maybe pose problems for us. We may even have to concede to that enthusiasm a little and bring them back to Glanford Park for a replay. He was me looking forward to another good draw in the 4th round too.

Looks like you should have beaten Shrewsbury. This habit of losing those big games in the playoffs and this cup game could appear to some that you are bottling it on the big occasions. Is that true and if so, is the manager to blame at all?

Our first 2 play off failures I would say came down to bottling it yeah.
The Newport games were embarassing to be honest just awful both games.
The Gateshead ones were a bit different as we battered them at home but their keeper was outstanding to keep it at 1 - 1, but then the second leg we were terrible until strangeley enough we went down to 10 men then started playing better!
Last season it was not us bottling it but the ref in the play off final, Bristol Rovers keeper handled a goal bound shot outside the box when we were 1 - 0 up and the ref gave a yellow, and admitted afterwards that he did not want to spoil the game by sending him off!! (So he just spoiled our entire season instead)
We are definately getting better each year though, this side we have now is far and away the best side we have had in this league so everything crossed that this is finally our year.
