We had 3 successive chances to equalise not long before. On balance I think a draw was fair enough.

Sounded like there was some fight today at least!?

And only 6000 silent people

I didn't go i couldn't cope i had to have a little mini break im fully depressed with them at the minute. 1st time iv missed a game for no real reason in a long time. Just seen the crowd 6938 that must be the lowest saturday crowd for a long time.

Why cant we ever just do it the simple way!! Oh well, still happy to be in the draw. Its just an extra game we could both do without.

Better, that.

Would have been very harsh on us had we lost so nice to still be in the hat at least. I thought despite the wind it was actually a very watchable game with plenty of chances though the goals for either side were not classics, but i'll take any sort of goal after recent performances.

Shout out to SEB who had his best game in a Town shirt so far imo.

We should've beaten Scunthorpe today, they were very very poor I thought. Ollie Palmer missed an open goal.

I think that's a reasonable-ish crowd for an early round FA Cup game vs a fellow L1 club.

However, for the sake of balance I'm waiting for Darren Gregory and a few others to come on and give you absolute pelters for the massive drop in yesterday's attendance vs. your league average.

I won't hold my breath though...

We normally get 10k for these rounds in the cup though it was below the norm.

We've finally turned up ten minutes before half time and hit the bar and make Olejnik work abit but the first 35 was shocking by sounds of it.

2-0 and our away shitness gets to a new low. Smurf was rumoured to be planning on sacking Page if we lost to Maidenhead so could be a goner. Sounds like the performance was lethargic and uninterested which in a game with high monetary value is unacceptable.

Outplayed from start to finish, only our keeper as kept the score down. Page should've been sacked already.

Sounded like the performance I saw at Hereford when we lost 4-0 in a L1 v 2 encounter 7 or 8 years back, team selection looked poor and our away form and Sunday hoodoo goes on.

Only seen the goals from it but another one conceded from a fucking corner. Not good enough at all.

Well done to Exeter but sounds like a pretty shameful effort from Vale.

Discussion still going on looking very possible that Page is gone although grilling him pitch side isn't very fair on RP

Always wary of rumours posted on forums etc but IF it is true that Smurthwaite went on one of the supporters coaches and told them we'd be getting a new manager that's well out of order from him regardless of whether people think Page should be fired or not. Personally I'm not fussed either way, he's done some good things and some also not so good things. I don't see how things will change given the fact any new manager would have to work with the same bunch of players. They're the ones who really need to take a long hard look at themselves, too many just not doing their jobs.

No doubt Adams be back for a third spell! That was rumoured as a done deal before the Maidenhead game!

If that's the plan then on second thoughts I'm all on the keep Page bandwagon.

So lucky today. Brilliant finish from the Altrincham player on the break in the second minute, but for the first half an hour it was all us. We had all of the ball, all of the chances and were camped in their half. We got the equaliser which was inevitable and it seemed only a matter of time before we got another - I think we'd have won by three or four if we had done so.

But then our attacking intent seemed to dry up approaching half-time and it turned into a bit of a lull. Half asleep from kick-off and they went in front again about twenty seconds into the second half. We never quite looked as we did in the first half an hour though after that, huffing and puffing away but not looking like making a breakthrough - destined for a replay.

Deep into injury time they broke clear and I can't believe the lad didn't score the winner. Turned Briggs inside out but shot straight down the keeper's throat. We then go up the other end for one final chance and score a belter with the very, very last kick of the game.

Completely got away with one there, and we would have lost the replay too.

Unless we get a really good draw, I'm not bothered at all if we win against Orient.

I've already got train tickets booked for Millwall away which is the same day as the third round and I want to go to that.

Congrats to the 550 Carlisle fans that travelled down to welling today and the hundred odd that didn't make it. As always, good numbers from the Cumbrians

Fair enough, but I suppose what I'm getting at is that you were 13k down on your average nonetheless for a 3pm Saturday game - and it was that sort of drop we were getting stick for, with ours being 1st round, midweek and on TV (weren't the viewing public lucky with that one) to boot!

Like I say, absolutely not a dig at you but more at those who were a bit quick to have a pop at us.
