Expect the ball to not roll or bounce, your short back line to have plenty of aerial balls to deal with and the wind to move the ball in the air. Whether you are a better team than Braintree will be irrelevent, what matters is how you cope with conditions that they play in every week.

They play in Essex mate. It's not the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.

Staines revival nipped in the bud. 4-1 Orient.

Smart thinking there from Ian Hendon. He would have been tempted after Staines came back into it to sit back and try and defend the lead and really give Staines a chance.

I don't care if we got Plymouth away, we will go down there and stuff em or even better get a draw and make them come up here on a Tuesday night in November.
Don't worry Carver, there's still 8 minutes plus injury time for Plymouth to come back into it and get you your dream result.

This is the worst 4-1 I've ever seen. Staines just haven't turned up. We even gave them a goal to try and help.

I'm not going to say Staines haven't turned up as obviously I'm not at the match, but I would think it's simply the fact that you are much stronger. Remember they're a mid table(?) Ryman League side, and they're also playing away. Generally, part time sides tend to put up a fight when they're playing in front of their home fans, but look poor when they aren't.

I knew Hartlepool would beat Cheltenham.

Same scoreline now as when we played Tipton at Brunton Park

Well Daggers v Morecambe sounds like an enthralling encounter... and a bit of a disaster for Dagenham to have to go up there on a midweek now.

Had a feeling Forest Green would beat Wimbledon. Fair play to Stevenage, smashed Gillingham 3-0 (I don't know if Gills fielded a weak team though).

Fantastic win for us away at Plymouth!! Who'd of thought we'd go all the way down there and get an easy win. I do suspect though that they are more bothered about the league but still a glorious win!

Only 795 Dagenham fans today:sur:

Combination of us playing Morecambe next week (originally, although that's been postponed due to internationals), us being utter shite at home, us being utter shite anywhere, and ST holders having to pay entry put people off (especially when we're playing shite).

We now get to go to Morecambe twice on a Tuesday night in the space of a few weeks. Yay us.

Hang on a second. Did you not go to Braintree in the Conference? When it has/is pissing down with rain, its an utterly dreadful place to go. Its by no means routine.

We never played them in the Conference. We'd been promoted back to the League before Braintree were promoted to the Conference.

For what it's worth, I'm expecting a tough game tomorrow, especially if their surface is a poor as people are claiming. I'll happily take a scrappy one nil and a place in the second round.

Not really a weak team unfortunately, but our best player by a mile wasn't playing in Dack. We haven't played well for weeks really so hopefully this will be as bad as it gets. Well done to Stevenage.

Delighted with that, very pessimistic prior to the game, really didn't envisage us getting a win, let alone a win by such a comfortable margin. I didn't go today so can't comment on the performance but I did like the look of our line-up - I really hope we move forward with a back four of Henry, Franks, Wells and Ogilvie. Hopefully this will see an improvement in our league form.

We should've had more than 6 and after we went 3-0 up we coasted the rest of the game, nothing to write home about here.

Fantastic win for us at Coventry. 2,509 Cobblers fans roared us on to victory. Good first half, we were the better side and then some very resolute defending in the second dig and we comfortably held on.

We finally won our first FA Cup tie since beating Redknapp's Spurs in the 2010 semi final.

Mac put up a good fight though. Good turn out from them as well given the distance. Best wishes for the rest of the season.

Blackpool were really poor and I fear for them if that is representative of their overall ability as they look a team heading firmly for non-league and then who knows where after that.

We squeezed through against York - I thought they played Ok with a new manager but Josh Windass was on form again. Im glad I wasn't on that open terrace today - very heavy wind and rain so not nice conditions for the away fans.

I'll be happy with another home tie in round 2 :-)

What chance that you keep Windass through January? Seems to be performing week in week out.
