We’ve put a strong lineup out today. Hoping we don’t bottle it against Conference opposition again.

I thought we were just 3G home advantage merchants? Oh well.

Great goal by Collins right at the end of the half there, lovely move. Been reasonably even I think, we have probably had the more possession but hadn’t really created all that much until the header a few minutes before the goal came. Before that Portsmouth looked very solid defensively.

Guessing anyone who watched it realised we were and are shit.

I got bored after 30 minutes and located the beer tent so missed their equaliser.

It's great to see we've such an amazing budget and doing so much with it.

That said, look at the results so far..... Lots of teams struggling, we got through.

Shite, but job done.

Yep, until they play Notts then they play a blinder!

No, they never get up for the game against us.... ever! I mean they haven't won a league game since and lost the game before ! But no , never have an out of the blue against those Stylish Magpies lol

Danny Rose Scored two great goals, and the first 20 minutes we played well, that’s about it.

Very enjoyable game that both sides had chances and both had a real go at it. Got very nervy toward the end there, not sure it should have been as we really butchered some counter attacks to be honest and had a few other good chances. Couple of superb saves from Stech again.

I think in context, though we were terrible we got through.

Looking at recent results in the cup by teams in this league it's not that bad

Good all round team performance today. Some good defending when needed but we also created chances. Knew this would be a tough game and so it proved so relieved to get the result. Poor attendance today but no surprise as the FA cup is no longer the tournement it once was. Might start to catch the imagination of the locals should we get to the 3rd round. Depends on the draw we get in the 2nd. Anyone at home please.

Fans can't complain about the magic of the cup being lost and not turn up to support it.

As it stands right now, League 2 is 6-5 up on League 1. Newport are 2 nil up against Walsall so if they hold on we'll be 7-5 up on those pesky L1'ers.

Can any of the Grimsby fans explain why one of your fans was deliberately time wasting when you were a goal down in the second half? That was a real doofus moment. Grimsby shot wide goes about row M, fan catches ball and then very very slowly walks down to pitch side, as Argyle keeper waits to get the ball returned the fan throws the ball in the opposite direct away from our player, making it even longer for him the take the goal kick. We all highly enjoyed this.

Because we are concentrating on cementing 12th place in the league not winning some Micky mouse Cup.

PS as an ex- ref that was the most blatant penalty I have seen not given, the Grimsby player bear-hugged Carey as he pushed the ball past him, did a little pirouette with him and then slammed dunked him. Stone cold penalty every day of the year.

Oh, your number 3 was very good, in the first half all your threatening ball came through him. And Dembele is very pleasing to the eye.
