Dulwich Hamlet 1 - 2 Guiseley
Sounded like a good game in front of a great crowd of 1949, listening to Guiseley Radio. Adam Boyes with three decent chances fluffed in the first half, James Hurst and Will Hatfield the nearly men in the second. Dulwich had some great spells throughout too, getting a goal back just before half time and hitting the post/bar and suffering a goal line clearance in injury time.
At least we don't have a home replay to postpone due to snow/frozen/waterlogged pitch!

Yes Steve, it was a good game and could have gone either way. The referee was absolutely shocking! I thought Guiseley were very professional and well organised and James Hurst looks a good player. It was nice to play a new team too! Good luck in the next round.

I wonder why Cheltenham have been allowed permission to postpone their replay? I don't remember that happening in previous seasons. Does that mean Barrow v Boreham Wood in the league or Halifax v Barrow in the trophy will be played this week? Anyway, back to back draws for the league leaders.

Wobble wobble? Let's hope so! Kiddy to win away on Tuesday is just the type of mental result this division likes to throw up every once in a while.

Nothing. Currently, you are awful and lost us ground on promotion rivals. Mediocre results and back to normality for the Gimps it seems. That 300k already looks to be being doubled down the drain.
We haven't even spent the investment....
3 bids for 3 separate players? Where's that come from then?
"That £300k" isn't coming in this season in one lump sum, it's in monthly instalments, part of which will help with cash-flow.

There also seems to be a myth amongst Lincoln fans that we never spend any money but we generally end up paying for at least one player a season (Wood this season, Kabba before, Tomlinson before that etc etc).

Not to mention the 5 or 6 players we've shifted out on loan for varying lengths of time so far this season with January in mind.

They haven't postponed the replay, they're playing it on Wednesday night and still playing in the league on Tuesday too.

Should have just waited for mother nature to move the replay for them, just like we are planning to do.

Don't see anything wrong with it. No point postponing the league game when there's no need to is there?

Is there any evidence that it's one rule for us and another for everyone else? Has any other team actually asked the FA to play twice in two days?

It's pretty much unheard of that FA trophy games get shifted, it's always those games that take precedent over the league games. In the overwhelming majority of cases, you would be playing the trophy on the Tuesday night.

I'm with you on this one. If CTFC have decided that they give no priority to the FA trophy then surely it is their prerogative? If no rules are being broken then the plus side is it increases the likelihood that one of the better teams in the competition is eliminated, helping the chances of those taking it seriously. If the majority of those involved have tasted first team/subs bench action then fine. If it was predominantly youth players taking part then an argument of bringing the competition in to disrepute could be made. As you have hinted at, no club has ever thought about it. I know we have played county cup games the night before league games in a congested season but i think our local FA has rules that five players from the previous match day squad should start. (or something similar).

The actual rules of the FA Trophy is that replays must be played ON the following Thursday, unless agreed by the 2 teams. The 2 teams have obviously agreed to play the replay on the Wednesday and Cheltenham have decided that they will not postpone the league game and play it the day before. They obviously won't be fielding a full strength team in the replay but if the FA are happy about that then I don't really see a problem.

It's the FA's fault really for not insisting on full strength teams in The Trophy, not Cheltenhams.

They seem to be sticking with these rules.
(i) The agreement between the Clubs for the replaying of matches in the Competition
shall be subject to the approval of the National Game Board.
(ii) When a first match has resulted in a draw, it must be replayed on the following
Thursday, unless the Clubs mutually agree to an earlier day.

(iii) When a replayed match is drawn after 90 minutes, an extra 30 minutes shall be
played and 15 minutes shall be played in each half.
(iv) If the score is still level at the end of extra time, the winner shall be determined by the
taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the procedure adopted by
the International Football Association Board.

But not so much with this rule.

15. PROVISIONS CONCERNING PLAYERS
(a) Each team participating in a match shall represent the full available strength of each competing club.

But not so much with this rule.

The usual overreaction on here to this news. Thanks for clearing it up, clear and concise. Smart move by Cheltenham. The 'full strength' rule seems to be a bit of a grey area. What would the punishment be anyway, a fine? Worth taking the risk in Cheltenham's case.

If they use their first team on Tuesday in the league then the rest of their available players will meet the requirements of rule 15 on the Wednesday, shirley? :)

It's the FA that's at fault here, no issue with Cheltenham using the loop hole.

Makes the FA look even more foolish after all the fucking about Alty have had with their tie, the FA should have stepped in here weeks ago. Along with the conference sorting Braintree out many years ago!

You might argue, albeit extremely weakly, that we lose out on funds by playing two games in two days. I'll be going to the Kiddy game tomorrow night but I have darts on Wednesdays so won't be able to attend the cup replay. The club have also been forced to reduce prices to £5 entry in order to entice fans to go to the replay.

As I said though, it's an extremely weak argument, on Saturday only James Dayton, Ryan Jennings, Jack Barthram and Cian Harries (about 10 mins) have played for the 1st team this season, and that's from the whole squad. The same players, excluding Barthram and Harries, will probably be the only 1st teamers playing on Wednesday.

Fucking hell, away at Torquay if we beat Truro tomorrow! Could be the longest route to Wembley ever seen!

Dover Athletic vs. Guiseley

Very happy with our draw, a doable route for us at the minute against two alright teams that aren't from the Isles of Scilly or wherever Macc fans are having to go.

If Gateshead could beat Flyde that would be much appreciated. Otherwise if Flyde go through and win in the next round our League game will be off and all our travel plans will be a waste of time! Thanks.

Any indication on how seriously Halifax are taking the Trophy this season? For us, the manager sees it as the only chance of making the season a success, so we'll be at full strength for tomorrow's game (if it happens).

It's a tough draw for us, IF we get past Bognor tomorrow. 3G pitch I believe?
