We're now 3-1 up. Couldn't really give a shit, it's the second XI.

Down to support my local team Braintree, shocking pitch! Reckon it'll be out of action for a few weeks after tonight, being cut up with every step!

It's been out of action for weeks already! :ffs:

I know! Was going Friday night :ffs: By the end of the game it was chucking it down and the pitch was just ripped to shreds! Before the game it actually didn't look that bad!

Sutton are through to the 2nd round following a 3-1 home over Conference North side Lowestoft Town, Craig Dundas scoring a hat-trick to see the U's through

Tomorrow night will be the 4th attempt for our game at Weston to go ahead. The match was meant to be played tonight but both clubs agreed to postpone it 24 hours to give this game as good a chance of going ahead.

I'm sure Grimsby supporters will be on tenterhooks as to which club they'll smash in front of a 3 figure crowd.

I think we'll just scrape 4 figures We haven't had a sub-1000 crowd in The Trophy yet but have been close a few times.

Leamington V Alty off again this time 70 mins before kick and not having rained all day. Leamington been saying its fine all day and a pitch inspection wasnt required.:emb::emb:
Last time it was 45mins before KO.
This needs moving to the tinpot thread now :bdick:

Weston SM v Wealdstone is also OFF again. Try again on the 11th. Replay if needed the 13th and then Grimsby for the winners on the 16th!

That means the Alty v Wrexham game is now off so the trophy game can get played.

Can we just play it at Moss Lane again seeing as Leamington appear to be complete amateurs?

Having seen a picture of our pitch today, there's no way that hypothetical replay would take place. Having glanced at the Grimsby forum yesterday, I'd fully support one of their supporters way of thinking whereby they'd resign and the winner of our tie gets a walkover.

So after tonight's game was postponed (shock horror), the game will be played at Paulton Rovers' ground on Wednesday night with any replay taking place at the Vale on Saturday. A lot of unhappy Mariners on the Fishy, including les.gtfc, with calls for the game on Wednesday to be decided on the night. That view is simplistic at best...

Whilst it may be a neutral site, Paulton is far nearer to Weston than it is to London, so they already have an advantage from the reduction in coach time. Any replay also aids us financially and means Weston then have to travel to London, which will be an advantage for ourselves.

Having said all that, I'm definitely in favour of letting the game go to ET and penalties if needs be on Wednesday night. We're already some way behind in the league with plenty of matches coming up in the next few weeks, plus it massively inconveniences our league schedule if we had to go to Grimsby on the Tuesday night.

Leamington's pitch doesn't look like it will be fit tomorrow, in which case the tie will be postponed until Thursday. Failing that, it gets played on Saturday, with the winner playing their 2nd round game one evening next week.

Just make sure you win it tomorrow night will you. If it goes to a replay it will not only mean that we will have no game on Saturday, I also assume that it will mean our "already rearranged" game at Bromley on Tuesday night will have to be rearranged again, as the FA Trophy takes precedent over league games,

That is IF the game actually goes ahead tomorrow.

As ER predicted, OFF again until thursday, then it will probably be OFF again until saturday when the winners are due to play at Bognor :dk:
This is part of the pitch we are supposed to be playing on,...

I don't think that will be fit on Thursday or Saturday.

Can't they move it to another local ground? Banbury, Solihull, Redditch? I'm not convinced that pitch will be playable for a week or more.

Last match scheduled was postponed but ordinarily it holds up well. I'd be hopeful that if it doesn't bucket down before the game we should be alright.

Cheers. Will hopefully be my first visit to Moss Lane.

When its dry the pitch usually very good, if you havent been before you can get in the club bar before the game, food and drink and 4 large large screen TV's showing football etc. Coming for your usual 3 points off us then :emb:

Really looking forward to our FA trophy match with Guiseley on Saturday. Our pitch is holding up very well - no postponements so far - and crowds at Dulwich are great. It should be a good test for us, but very winnable methinks!
