I wouldn't write off Royston at a struggling Ebbsfleet side - the former have already knocked out 3 sides from further up the pyramid.

Aveley have a good chance of beating Chelmsford too.

Quigley, Rooney and Hird have all been rested for the Barnet game and 3 of our under 23 team have been drafted into the squad for the match. 13/8 on a Barnet win looks big IF they play their 1st team...

We have a large squad so our backup players like Elito, EMC, Sparkes are all solid players at this level.

Currie has always taken the Trophy seriously and fielded full strength teams last year when we had far more games in hand than we do now so we should have too much for you today if you are putting U23s and Byron in.

I think it'll be the normal XI but with Brown, Dyson and Hindle/Harrison starting. Possibly Granite if he's fit.

I don't doubt we're in it to win it though - two games from Wembley, we might as well give it a shot.

You've got another 4 games before any Wembley appearance.

Yep, obviously - I saw that there were eight fixtures and for some reason thought we were down to the last eight...

Wasn't the final of the trophy played in February/March for a few seasons?

Barnet's side looks more or less full strength (well it's got some familiar names in it). I have to agree, I don't see us winning this one - and I don't see Harrison or Hindle troubling their defence.

Lead 1-0 at the break. Not there and also no ability to listen in so no idea how we are playing.

Wes Thomas sent off. 3 match ban. Thankfully we have a more than able deputy in Kristian Dennis.

Sounds like a very bad tempered game and that the ref has completely lost control.

Barrow slightly the better side. A couple of good chances

Cheers Wooderson! Not really really what we want though, more players missing. That's what worries me about this comp. Tongue in cheek if we draw that'd be one game I suppose.

Sent Wootton on and he’s made it 2-0 within a couple of minutes. Sounds like we’re fairly comfortable even down to ten, but a Yeovil goal would make it interesting.

May be a weakened side, but the result is still shit - I didn't expect us to win but sounds like we're barely trying. Why not stick out a full reserve side in that case?

I don't see it having any bearing on the league form other than an extra week off for the majority of players, but I'd have preferred us to go through.

Oh well, concentrate on a top ten league place.

I'm just hoping that the last game of the season means something for both sides. Should be 11k+ if it does.

Oh dear....:ds:

Pfft. Hardly surprising given you played your 3rd string side aka the U/14's. And anyway, who wants to win the FA trophy when the real prize is promotion to the FL. Back to where proper club Halifax Town FC truly belong after all.

Inevitable. :)

Halifax result is surprising.
Ours was our strongest available team, too. We're proud of our record of humiliating defeats to Tin Pot outfits. That's another one in the bank. :woo:

that's our 1st team, not our reserves

Was hardly a full reserve squad. You had more than enough first team players there for some sort of competitive game. Decent travelling support as well - let them down a bit.

Aveley 3-1 Chelmsford
Barnet 3-0 Barrow
Concord 2-2 Leamington (4-3 pens)
Dorking 2-4 Fylde
Ebbsfleet 0-2 Royston (AET)
Halifax 0-1 Halesowen
Harrogate 2-0 Eastleigh
Yeovil 1-2 Notts County

So 4 NL teams, 1 from step 2, 1 from step 3 and 2 from step 4. Well done Aveley and Halesowen!

Also surprised that Royston found the extra gear in ET against a team 2 steps higher. Fair play.

First half Bees v Barrow, was awful we (barnet) couldn't of played worse if we tried. Barrow obviously rested some, not sure if that was their first choice defence and keeper but my god they were slow and clumsy. We gave a debut to Xander macburnie but he was well off the pace which gave Barrow an extra man in midfield... Lacking our Captain James Dunne we were short of aggression.

Medy Elito came on second half and ran the midfield... Akinola sprung to life and we gave them a battering.

Look forward to the league game v them I'm sure they won't fancy it.
