Funny how 12,000 of you made a 400 mile round trip to watch a game you didn't give a shit about. :dk::fl:
Again I could quite easily explain to you why we took that many but you have shown time and again that you are not interested in any sort of conversation that does not include some ridiculous reply with a load of emojis at the end so I won’t be wasting my time with you.

Point has just been raised that Hursty will be hoping to get this one on as it counts as McAtee's second game of his three match ban.
Was happy we lost both in the end, first final got played behind closed doors and the second with an allocation of 1,000 each I think.

We did miss out on what was set to be a very fun week of hostilities against Harrogate, though. When Covid first hit we were 2nd and 3rd in the league and about to play each other in the Trophy semi-finals on consecutive Saturdays with a league match against each other sandwiched in the middle.
Haha that would have been fun. We had that with Morecambe the season we got beat by MKD in the JPT Trophy final. JPT semi/League match/JPT semi.

Of course you were, chuck. :fl:
Firstly, do you genuinely think we were more bothered about the trophy final than we were the playoff final? And secondly, I know 12,000 seems like an astronomical following to you but it's crap for us. We've taken over double that to Wembley multiple times in my life so why you're using that as a yardstick, I'm not sure. It's probably the equivalent of us bringing about 800 to you on a Saturday for a league match.

Footballers really not helping the old 'footballers are thick' trope by refusing a jab in the middle of a pandemic

93% NHS staff have been vaccinated and the other 7% will legally have to be vaccinated by next Spring or they will lose their jobs.
Same rules should be applied to footballers

We've apparently got ten out with positive tests for Saturday and are likely to have 6 under 21 players involved.

Hope it’s on purely to get McAtee back quicker. Don’t really care if we crash out playing a youth team.

I can’t see things going behind closed doors again, whilst cases are high it seems much different now and we’ve more tools to swing things in our favour. On top of that, early data suggests it might well be milder than previous strains.

Fingers crossed, not sure I’ve got another period of time without football in me.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! So much for "sensible conversations"! 12,000, a 400 mile round trip! That's ALL that needs to be said about it. Clown! :ds:

Yeah I’ve no idea what the rules are either.
If Chesterfield can't play their Trophy game on Saturday because of Covid(not injury), then surely they can't play their TV game on Tuesday. If they have pulled out of the Trophy to protect their players for Tuesday, then they should be heavily fined for withdrawing without good reason and devaluing the competition.

They’re probably waiting on test results before calling Tuesday off - our tweet saying we were in dialogue with them and would let people know as soon as we could pretty much gave the game away, would be amazed if it went ahead.

As others have said, it’s clearly a very big game for both teams and a midweek four days before Christmas when half the country is likely to be isolating is a very shit time to play it, so not sure anyone will be too upset other than BT Sport.

How can you devalue the FA trophy

Remember when maidenhead pulled out of the competition? Nobody said a thing. Some of you have some major beef with us and it's hilarious.

I wouldn’t really describe anything said on this thread as major beef, a few comments saying if you call off Saturday then you shouldn’t really be playing Tuesday but I haven’t read anything too outlandish towards you.

but fair play, you are still electing to play the game

Yep no idea what kind of team it'll be though. We were hoping to bring 150 ish fans but a combination of only being able to get tickets from Meadow Park before Saturday and of course Whitty and co scaring the living daylights out of some people there's a fair few dropped out. Probably be less than 100 I'd imagine now.

Trouble is, it's not just a football thing. Many small businesses, especially those in, and connected with, the entertainment/catering industries are going to go tits up with no hope of recovering from yet another knock back. Covid passes mean fuck all in my opinion.... 10,000 and under = safe, 10,000 and over = unsafe. What a load of bollox.

I couldn't give a monkeys about who's vaccinated and who's not... it should be a personal choice and be respected. But we need to get on with life and stop fucking everyone around as soon as a new variant rears its ugly head.

On a personal front, football is the only thing that has kept me sane throughout all this (well, that and my lovely family) and I just want to get back to some sort of normality where Mon-Friday = work (with the odd game thrown in on a Tuesday night) and Saturday 3pm is all about the football...

'But people are dying' I hear... yes, and they die from cancer, from strokes, from heart disease, from getting run over by a bus, etc etc but that hasn't stopped us living a normal life ... up until now.
Perhaps if you were a 62yo diabetic living in an area with one of the worst health care provision records in England (not Stockport) you may be more considerate of those of us who are. As for the economic hit, well the OBR have calculated that the SARS-CoV2 will end up causing a 2% hit to national GDP whilst on the other hand something else (beginning with the letter 'B') will end up causing a 4% hit and let many of the very same people who are now so against even the most limited of preventative measures were those at the forefront of the campaign for the action that is hitting our economy twice as hard . Oh and by the way cancer, strokes & heart disease are not transmittable conditions in case it escaped your attention.

We took 56,000 to Wembley over the course of two Wembley fixtures in 1998 so yeah 12,000 really isn't that much when you consider our home attendances have only dropped about 1000 between then and now. Not sure what you're struggling to grasp here.

I understand you perfectly, chum(p)- unfortunately you're talking complete bollocks. You claim nobody gave a fuck about the FA Trophy, but utterly fail to grasp that your claim is fatally undermined by the TWELVE. THOUSAND. fish-fuckers who made a FOUR. HUNDRED. MILE round trip to watch a game YOU claim they didn't give a fuck about. I have now used up my daily allowance for humouring idiots on this post alone, and for that reason ONLY, I'm done here. Bye. :ds:
