Farsley away for us. Fourth time in 5 years we've been drawn there in an FA competition. The FA don't like change.

Wasn't to be tonight, anyway good luck against Farsley at the wonderful Citadel!

The FA dinosaurs never really like to think of the word change.

Do you still have to leave the ground to use the toilet at Farsley? Like, out of the ground and into the social club?

Our league fixture with Borehamwood has been rearranged for the Tuesday after our match with Stockport in the trophy, so I reckon we'll see plenty of players rested. There for the taking for Stockport.

Turned out well for me for a change as I was working the original Boreham Wood fixture but I’m off for this one.

Does anyone care about this thing still? I thought it was time to cancel it when we won it by absolutely humiliating the fish fuckers? :dk:

We have never gotten over it, completely ruined our promotion celebrations that did.
I cried for weeks, still sometimes wake up now in a cold sweat thinking about it.
In protest I’ve decided that because of that I’m not gonna go to any more Trophy games ever again so my combined total of Trophy games attended across all our seasons down here will have to stay at zero.

The humiliation was more the fact you only scraped past a team of pissed up idiots who hardly knew what day it was

I don't think I've ever watched that match. I could vaguely remember it when we came down when it was the first thing B2TF mentioned to us but if someone had have asked me before that who we lost an FA Trophy final too I'd have probably said Wrexham was the only one.

Maidenhead have withdrawn from the FA Trophy due to a number of COVID-19 cases within their squad, I suspect they won't be the last ones to do so before this weekend.

Can't wait to see Dorking do us over

It's my eldests birthday, I said to him I'd take him to any game, any league, instead he's chosen this. I'm glad to go just to see us play in a competition we've never been in before but other than that I have no desire to watch this heap of shit football club anymore.
Hope we play a youth team tbh and whoever is in goal can keep the score down.

They've withdrawn from the entire trophy?

I can't say I'm a fan of the Trophy. Not only have we had the North Ferriby debacle, but the one we did win when we beat Grimsby was permanently marred by losing to Newport (who Grimsby were much better than) in the play off final a few weeks later.

(who also beat us in the playoff semis)

Next few weeks are going to be a mess of postponements with how this is spreading.
Yeah, I was very close to booking train tickets for Wrexham away (25th Jan) today and decided it's probably not best until I see how things go.

Just do it via the trainline app and you can refund them if something goes tits up.

I think we will be back behind closed doors come Jan anyway

With the travel insurance option you mean? Yeah I might just do that.

Haven't the league already said that it won't continue behind closed doors?

I think it may become very complicated! Even if the worst scenario happens re Covid Politically Boris is so weak at the moment I am not sure if he could get "lockdown" through parliament. No lockdown no furlough scheme. Covid passes should mean some fans being allowed to matches even in reduced numbers .
If football stops it self I don't expect the Government to bail them out anymore.

I don’t think it’s going to be legally stopped like before, and even if it does it won’t be for long. This Omicron is moving so quickly that, while it’s going to be bad, it will also be over quickly. The Conservatives don’t have the numbers to support any more action than they’ve taken, and I doubt there’s the public will for it any more either.

The problem for the next few weeks is going to be players getting it and having to isolate, but I suppose it’ll just be a case of getting games on where they can and having another mad run of two games a week later in the season.

And so it begins, Chesterfield have bailed as well.
