This game is never going to get the interest that a Chesterfield game does.
To be honest conker it does from me ,maybe its because i lived in nottingham for so many years and had to suffer them ,chesterfield to me is a traditional one notts is a recent one

Richard you know Mansfield fans aren’t in a position to talk or take the piss when it comes to attendances , right ?

Can’t we stick to debating whether Kane Hemmings is a 1 in 3 or a 1 in 5 forward ? And likely team selection . This thread peaked briefly during that point but we are now back on obsessed away attendances talk and blah blah replies from Spain
Will it still be niggerly

Everyone in football knows your main rivals are Chesterfield and there is no love lost between the two sets of fans. Not that it necessyou arily translates to bums on seats at Field Mill. 500 more doesn’t scream fierce rivarly compared to the Nottinghamshire lower league derby

Of course , it’s the same as Stoke and Port Vale. Vale probably view Crewe like Notts do Mansfield. And Stoke view Vale like Forest view us.
If you are under 35 and a Notts fans naturally the link to Forest is limited but if you are over then you’ve seen enough games between the two. You have to remember that it’s the offices and factories that have Red Dog fans sitting next to Pie supporters. There maybe a token Stag fan there but they won’t really get a look in.
You really are laughable

I wouldn’t bother with footy if I followed county tbh.

This season, I couldn’t agree more. It must be pure torture especially for the die hard supporters. Hence why it’s hardly a surprise that ticket sales have been so low this time around. It’s what 3 or 4 of us have been saying on this thread since you first highlighted the poor away ticket sales.

Ok so Costa Del Stag has waved the white flag, and Adam Stag hardly ever answers a question. Does any other Stags fan on here have a explanation for only 4000 home fans for such a big home game?
Its simple really our home support is basically 4000 not really to hard too understand

Why can’t they just admit it’s embarrassing and why are they more focus on little Mansfield than the massive entity that is Notts County? Say what you want we currently have bragging rights due to that abysmal effort.

You know something is wrong when they are looking back a couple of years at little Mansfield attendances instead of focusing on their own.

Be big boys and own up, I promise the next time we disappoint I’ll do the same xx

It’s basically a political answer, we know it’s poor, they know it’s poor but it’s just never admitted to. I long suspected it would be poor after their shambolic following to Lincoln earlier this season. Plus it’s cold and the elderly feel it more at this time of season .

Anyway to the football, can notts hand Mansfield their 2nd defeat in 20 league games? Also ending a run of 11 undefeated games against East Midlands sides?

Hold up our home attendances have been very impressive this season due to last season’s efforts no doubt so not sure what you are on about there buddy

Of course you have the current bragging rights , the league table tells everyone that. Which Notts fans says otherwise? Lol :dk:

Conks don’t be like your buddy Adam, please don’t start ignoring any counter questions, be brave . Luckily Bargain Stag gave the answer we all know anyway. You mentioned earlier , that Chesterfields game has a lot more interest. The facts , as in attendances, don’t really support that. But why let facts get in the way of a good argument :ohy:

Not in a position to throw stones when it comes to levels of support, id stick to on field matters where you clearly have all the advantages currently.

That’s why Mansfield are 4/9 and I’ve lumped on

I read the start of that and was certain you were talking about Mansfield’s home crowds , it fits perfectly for that as well :ohy:

Luckily your amigo gave the answer that we all knew anyway. I just hoped you would be brave for a change

Go and ask any stags fan who the main rivalry is, it’s undeniable. 500 is a significant amount of fans for any team at this level to be missing off a gate, obviously.

Now they are trying to make their own minds up that they mean more to us than Chesterfield, this is delusion. It should not matter that little Mansfield see Chesterfield as the bigger rivalry to big spending Notts County fans.

But let’s get to it, all this boils down to the fact they can’t fucking stand Mansfield are the better club on and off the field, and I can truly sympathise with that because I found it difficult when our main rival were on the verge of Championship football while we were in non-league hell.

Luckily fellow staggies, 1. Mansfield, 2. Notts County, 3. Chesterfield. Plus that stands even if we manage to lose tomorrow ;)

Notts were big and famous though, apparently, sometime long ago. Delusion is their friend.

How daft are you ? Nobody needs to ask a Stags fan , VM already correctly stated that the whole football world knows who Mansfield’s biggest rivals are ! Jeez Louise , nobody has said on here that Notts are more important . Seriously if you are just going to make things up we might out of thin air you might as well not bother . First we have Spanish stag lying to us by saying he wouldn’t post till Saturday , and follows it up with a dozen posts since and now you are peddling lies as well . Very poor

The way you were going on you made it sound like a night versus day difference when it’s 500 fans haha ! But as you say at low levels , it is all relative
I can’t believe Stags fans have chosen to talk about anyone’s attendances being pathetic, talk about throwing stones in glasshouses . Stick to onfield matters and if you are lucky

The big disappointment from a Notts point of view is the fact it’s the new manager first league game in charge - you would really think they could have done better considering he’s in charge of saving football league status.

Oh Enzo FFS don’t mention history, or actual facts Adam absolutely hates be reminded of the past.

I’m going to use his weird approach and after Notts lose on Saturday , once Sunday comes around I’m just going to declare it as old news, the past , history and as such doesn’t matter. Perfect thanks buddy :brill:

I can’t wait for 3pm Saturday , it’ll be all over and roll on the Tranmere game and the Ardley bandwagon begins :bg:

If Ardley is telling the truth it may be that Stead does around and hour and Hemmings does a stint from the bench.
No mention of Allessandra being fit and we know Boudwijn is out.
Right back is an unsettled position so if Stags start with Hamilton on the left you could well have a field day, 75% of our conceded goals have come directly from crosses and corners.

Anybody remember last season when Chesterfield played us off the park at field mill and we luckily got a last minute goal? Christ if that happens today County must be going down.

That’s impressive given our stand isn’t that big!

Haha , we’d have to given both stands behind the goal to be able to accommodate that many !

Right match day , no need to discuss our poor away following today or Mansfield’s historical poor home crowds any more .

Nothing much to discuss until teams are announced , have Mansfield got anyone who would of guaranteed started out injured ?

All the predictions from the people on here are in . Let’s see who was right come mid afternoon

Embarrassing is a bit strong. It’s not a very good following, obviously. I also fundamentally don’t care (and nor do I/should you about your crowds). It’s a fucking tedious, boring argument.

To be honest I think the fact that a few thousand people are going to turn up to watch a game in the fourth tier between two teams who between them have achieved nothing for at least a generation, two weeks before Christmas with a pointlessly stupid kick off time imposed by the police is.. kinda a good thing.

Jacob I'll admit it's a small matter but it's still something that is usually commented on, and I appreciate you are capable of being self deprecating which is a true feature of a human that has actually matured to a certain extent.

On to the match, I'm going for a 2-1 win in a tight contest, and I don't say that with any confidence quite frankly. The impact of the derby where form can (sometimes) go out of the window and a new manger for Notts could make this a strange result, but also it could equally be another 3/4 goals shipped for that leaky defence.

Our captain, and best Defender Pearce is a doubt which would be huge news but I have a feeling he will be in the starting line-up. Other than that we just have one or two long-terms that we already know about from what I gather.

Thank you Jacob flipping bizarre behaviour to be so obsessed in away followings , seems to be an obsession that increases as you go down the leagues . Even stranger when the far more important home attendance doesn’t even seem to register with many ! Weird

Everyone has made their predictions , unfortunately and ultimately sadly I’m very confident that my £100 bet on Mansfield will pay for a meal out tonight with the better half

Pearce if he plays will no doubt be an absolute rock today

Only two (2) tickets remaining on Stagsticket online, yet be plenty of seats at the ground today. What a shambles that site is.
