I believe we have the worst record for opening day games out of the entire EFL. 12 without a win, pretty sure one of those was against you too, with Mr John-Joe The Toole scoring

Don’t worry we’ll sort that!

And yeah I was there that day, absolutely baking hot in that away end iirc

Anyone know what Sky+ is? Does it work with Now TV?

530. I mean what the fuck.

Why are we dicking about with football so much?

3pm Saturday is sacred to so many.

All those fixture changes for just 25% more, zero enthusiasm for this season. What does a L1 club get now per season from Sky ? Thought it was only about £1 million, so is it only £250,000 extra ?

The new arrangement will be made up of guaranteed payments of £895m, and £40m in marketing rights.

That is a 50% increase on the league's current deal with Sky Sports, which expires at the end of next season. Championship clubs will get an extra 46% in TV revenue, while League One and Two get 25% more.

Crawley and Blackpool are our home and away midweek fixtures this season, which means our local and bigger games fall on weekends, which is unusual. In previous years we've ended up with Charlton, Derby etc home and away midweek.

Start at Burton (a), end with Wrexham (h).

December could be an awful month (Rotherham, Charlton, Huddersfield and Bolton) and April has the potential to be as well (Bolton, Charlton and Huddersfield).

11th of January, Mansfield (a), is FA Cup 3rd Round weekend.
You've missed Shrewsbury (a) in your awful month of December.... (some welcome respite from those fixtures)

From a Shrewsbury perspective, first time I'm a good few years that we're at home on boxing day. At the moment can only see a season of struggle.

Good to see Wrexham back in the fixture list for a proper Derby. Like to think the away game in early September will mean any new signings for them won't yet have gelled.

I'm disappointed that the Stockport games are both on Tuesdays as my wife's uncle is a season ticket holder there, so the planned weekend trips have been scuppered.

For me Shrewsbury and Chester are our only derbys and that lot from Blacon are flipping useless so don't really count anymore (they did go bust after all) . Last seasons FA cup was a nice taster but great to be playing you in a scheduled league fixture again- I've got some great memories of games at Gay Meadow back in the day.

As you say, the cup game was a nice warm up. First league fixtures since 2008, hopefully they'll be on the fixture list a lot more regularly. Our other local "rivals" are also a way down the pecking order.

I can only recall going to the Racecourse for a 3-3 draw in the year we went down to the conference. I must have been to at least one other. Circumstances have always meant I've missed other trips. Hopefully can get there this season.

Does that mean train strikes for the third year in a row

Travelling from sale it causes me as much of a problem as it does for you, so hopefully not!

Good luck in getting tickets. They'll be like rocking horse shit.

I remember the 3-3 draw the season we went up. Ian Woan scored directly from a corner in the early parts of the game. That was 21 bloomin years ago!

Doubt I'll get a ticket. Used to do around 15 away games a season but can't do that with a young family for now. Surprised if it's not one of the Sky games, not the same as going tho.

Crazy that game was 21 years ago!

we’ve landed Exeter away on one so that’ll end up being a Tuesday if either of us get 3? called up.
Yeah, barring injuries, we will have minimum 3.

We've brought in a loyalty thing based on the past 2 seasons, but going forward the club will have data over a rolling 5 year period. I missed Crewe away last season because of all the daytrippers but got everyone else. It was a struggle.

Hopefully with this loyalty system, i'll easily grab Shrews away, having only missed 2 away games last season and about 5 the previous season.

Shame Barnsley away for our opener is a Friday night which will affect the following but we will take loads either way.

Notice we always get Stockport at home early on in the season.

Bolton away moved to a Sunday at 3pm which isn't a major disaster, but Birmingham away moved to Monday night 8pm! Absolutely honking.

First game moved for TV for us:

Not a massive ball ache to get to Mansfield early and at least they gave us a couple of months notice.

Mate, watching mansfield vs cambridge won’t particularly excite me, fuck knows what the rest will think.

Whereas i can’t of course speak for cambridge, maybe a chance to get 2 of the less fashionable clubs out of the way against each other

That means no trains back for our game at Barnsley, frustrating.

No, but you can still get the noddy train back to piccadilly from sheffield (stops like everywhere) providing you can get back to sheff for 10-25

Oh I don’t know, there must be millions of sky customers DESPERATE to watch two bastions of football going head to head.

But yeah, the mind boggles frankly.

you got any decent pubs anywhere close to the ground yet?

Still yearn for the pub across the field with the cows, that was a class place. Many moons ago mind.
