thank u yellow.

Is this quite boring now, cos it's Arsenal and not some shitty non-league team? I don't care, I need this outlet cos I can't bore anyone in real life.

I spent £38m on two defenders in the summer, having identified my leaky defence as the reason I missed out on the title last season (got within 5 points in the end but couldn't quite close the gap). Two of my first three games of the season were a 3-3 draw at home to Hull and a 5-2 defeat at United. Fuck sake.

I hope that some day you will decide to return to your Vanarama roots :(

Luke, that screenshot ^^^ is crazy

Don't worry... my next career will be sticking with a Guiseley-esque club for years and trying to get them TO THE TOP. Might do that in Italy tho, had some good lower league careers there.

I'm bobbing along with two strikers still, one week into January, and it's not doing a great deal of good for my GF column. Defensively, pretty sound, but I can't score for toffee, hence only moving from 24th to 19th.

There's just nothing out there either on loan or free.

GK and defence didn't need any tweaking, but I sold my ageing LB (£20k) and brought in McGinty (£10k) with money to spare. Tweaked the midfield slightly, signing two players.

Having checked, most of the squad are out of contract in the summer and those who aren't I would have kept anyway albeit they're on higher deals than I'd be prepared to offer. Will try and re-negotiate them.

Well - halfway through my 2nd season in the Save, my first in L2 - and back to back promotions was my aim, and it looks very likely.

Didn't spend a penny in the Summer, 18k under wage budget, I have stabilized the finances and relied on loan's and free transfers which have served me well.

Had a few job offers - Sheffield United and Posh being the most noticeable, but seeing as I will most likely be in their division next season with a club I've built from top to bottom then it would be silly to jump ship so early - but I'm very much open to offers.

As for Cup games - I went out of the CoC to Ipswich on Penalties after a 4-4 draw in the first game (don't know what happened to my defence - but it's been sorted) and went out in the JPT in the first round to Posh - not such a bad thing. Got West Ham in the 3rd round of the FA Cup next - at least I'm doing OK in that one.

Here's the table after 23 -

Finished 6-4, which was disappointing.

Long-term Football Manager addict here. It all started with Championship Manager 01/02 for me. My greatest achievement on that game being a Champions League and World Club Cup triumph with Rushden and Diamonds. I seem to remember having Jermain Defoe and Arjen Robben in my forward line. I also got Bohemians of Ireland to the CL Final, but it was the bad old days of the League of Ireland playing a short winter season. By the time the final came round all my players were unfit because they hadn't played for a month. I'm still bitter about that.

In a later version, (FM05 maybe?) I won back to back Champions Leagues with Aberdeen.

Anyway, on account of my old crappy laptop, I haven't bought any of the most modern versions of the game. This is being rectified shortly as I've just ordered a new one. However, in a fitting finale for this laptop and FM10 (which I still play), I have just won the Premier League with Altrincham in 2050. This despite being in a league with Man City who've won 4 straight Champions Leagues.

Ridiculously satisfying. Absolutely pathetic.

Shrewsbury up via the PO's so resigned from there.

Birmingham just relegated to L2, so might try and sniff that one out.

Job didn't come up so I plumped for Stockport who are 22nd in L2.

Got beaten by Swansea in the play-offs. Not a bad effort considering we were predicted to finish 10th, but it was frustrating to have gotten so close to promotion.

Looking for automatic promotion next year. Not got a great deal of transfer kitty though so may need to rely on loans to get over the line.

I decided to finally continue a proper FM save. I'm currently doing the Journeyman save and I opened up an old one which I never go into. I started unemployed with a sunday league reputation and I have to win as many league titles as I can. I've already won in Cuba however I left immediately after mostly due to the fact that they couldn't afford a coaching course.

Few second division jobs in New Zealand. Might go there next.

Stockport are absolutely shite. Dreadful.

Roll on the January transfer when I can sign defenders, whose tackling attribute is above 9 although I have no money, no spare wage budget and no loan slots left (I don't think).

My title hopes are holed already after 21 games. Just conceding too many goals. And my big £23.5m central defender's broken his arm. Fack sake.

Won my Champions League group tho, including wins away to Bayern and Napoli. Got Roma in the next round, they're 5th in Serie A. Should at least make it to the quarters.

Nicely settled in mid-table with Stockport in January.

Don't think I'll be able to challenge for the PO's because my hands are pretty much tied on what I can do. I've only been able to sign two players.

Not all the big earners are out of contract either.

Took Sunderland up to the Prem in my first full season as gaffer, then finished 12th in the first Prem season. A challenge for Europe was on briefly but we fell away towards the end.

Strengthened in the summer and am currently 5th in the table with about 10 games left. Have a quite easy run apart from Chelsea at home, who are 6th and a point.

Well I've finally gone back to my old Villa game, after a wonderful season last year, winning the FA Cup and Europa League and finishing 4th bought with it Champions League Qualification. The board wanted a title challenge which I felt would be possible with the enormous transfer budget they gave me... This is my signings:

In the Super Cup I was drawn against last season's Champions League winners Monaco, to say that this was expected would be ridiculous, I thought it would definitely bode well for the forthcoming Champions League campaign.

Aston Villa v AS Monaco FC_ Overview Overview.png

The Champions League saw me drawn against Schalke in the playoff round, after a 2-2 draw in Germany I stood well to qualify, and so it proved through a 4-2 home victory to qualify for the group stages. Here I was seeded second I believe where I was drawn against Juventus, Fenerbahce and Plzen, I won 4 games, drew 1 and lost 1, finishing on the same points as Juventus with 13 points, however due to my one loss being to Juve, I finished second in the group. The next round saw us drawn against Lyon, who I beat on away goals afer a 1-1 draw at Villa Park and a 2-2 draw in France. Not bad going for my first Champions League campaign. Up next however, was Barcelona. Got thrashed in the first leg, but somehow escaped with only a 2-0 defecit at the Nou Camp. Brought them back to Villa Park and gave them an absolute battering. The game ended 0-0. So that was the Champions League over for this season, but not a bad go at it, and I met the board's minimum expectations for that.

In the FA Cup it was relatively straight forward, the only bumps being having to play a replay with Notts Forest and Chelsea, beating both 3-2, both away, but Forest required extra time. The final threw up Norwich who I'd drawn 2-2 with in the penultimate game of the season...

This team does NOT bow to pressure.

I also won the Charity Shield on penalties, but whoopdeedoo.

The league was a tight race all of the way between ourselves and Man United, Man City and Arsenal both had shockers, Chelsea were always hanging around, but were never going to catch us or United. Believe it or not, I won it on the last game of the season at home to Arsenal, yet more proof of this team not bowing to pressure, we only needed a draw even if Man United won, however they went and did this...

Making the league end looking very nice, my 2 lost games were a 1-0 defeat to stoke, and a 2-1 defeat to Wigan. Most of those draws were the result of us being behind and bringing it back for a point. No way in hell I'll be able to repeat this next season I wouldn't have thought.

English Premier Division_ Overview Stages.png

On the League Cup, I went out to Man City on penalties in the 4th round with my reserves.

Wonderful season, however next is going to be an attempt to balance the books as we're losing money left right and center at the moment. Most of the signings above are youngsters for the future, so I'm hoping I can blood a few in and get rid of some of my more expensive players to try and balance things out.

EDIT: And Monaco have retained the Champions League, beating Barca in the final 2-0...

My board are idiots. Made a 2.4million loss just qualifying for the Champions League again, and they've given me £48.4million to spend...

Okay, just about the play the League Cup final against United. They are top of the league by 14 points after 28 games and just warmed up for the final by winning the Manchester derby 5-0 (City are 2nd). They beat me 5-2 earlier in the season.

Fingers crossed.

Lol somehow won 3-1 but the rest of the season was a nightmare. Came 3rd in the league again but lost 11 games (10 away!) but that's not the bad bit. Apparently last summer I rejected a bid for one of my centre-halves from PSG and he got a bit upset. I then promised him we'd win the Champions League. Obviously we didn't (FWIW out in the quarters after a heroic 3-2 aggregate defeat to Barcelona). As soon as that happened, ALL of my players started hating on me for breaking my promise to him and I got hauled in front of the board for one of those turn-up-or-be-sacked meetings because I'd lost the dressing room, and my squad called two meetings in which I had to try my best to placate them. It's fucking bullshit tho, I'd sell him but the transfer window's not open yet! Afraid to continue in case I get sacked...

4th, mid-Feb.

I reckon I can do this if I stay away from injuries (only got a squad of 18).
