Two older Reading lads I know were banged up on Friday night for getting into a tear up with some bouncers in some dodgy bar near Alexanderplatz.

Could be same one, any of em open at half 3 letting dozens of english lads in have to be more than dodgy haha

As with others, dabbled between the ages of 18 and about 22, then got responsibilities and grew up. Remember being chased by a bloke with a sword in Peterborough Town Centre in the 80's. Funniest sight was the whole Stand at Peterborough behind the goal running to one side, as Darlo fans in the home end kicked off, then them realising there was only around 10 amongst them, and come piling back along as the lads climbed over the fencing. Spent one night in the cells - Blackpool at home in the eighties, both going for promotion. Town Centre was like the wild west all night. Was put in with a Newcastle lad, a few of whom who had come through because they thought it would kick off. First time I'd been in bother really. Copper came into the cell holding a Stanley knife, and said it had been found in the van I'd been brought in, and was it mine. I said no, he said did I want to have a look and make sure, offering me it. As I went to take it, the Newcastle lad said "I don't kna about yee, but my fingerprints aren't on it, and they're not gonna be" and which point I quickly removed my hand from the vicinity of the knife. "Worth a go" said the copper, smiling, as he left the cell.

Good old not at all bent and untrustworthy British constabulary..

Figures released this week have revealed Birmingham City have won the arrest league for the third year running, a great effort from all involved, tip my (Burberry) hat to the pavement dancers, smoke bomb throwers and offensive chanters, a cracking early Christmas present.

We always rank pretty high in these tables, which does not mean we have a big hooligan element. Infact, I’d say it has very little to do with hooliganism . Reading through this thread, I remember the blues v Millwall game, and it being on central news. Had a lot of interest in the footy violence scene growing up, and I’ve dipped my toes in, but nowt serious, although I did serve a ban a while back. It will never die completely, but fuck me, it’s on its arse, and pathetic most of the time.

We’re usually pretty high on arrests and banning orders rankings as well, rarely serious disorder nowadays at Ashton Gate though, few scraps in Ashton Park now and again after the game. Norwich turned up last year which was funny, Sunderland, Leeds, and Cardiff but that was it.

Like you said it’s pathetic most of the time now anyway, police have it all wrapped up and everything’s on camera now.

Yep, just not worth it anymore, and there is very little action to be had, but plenty of repercussions just for being there.

Being a Wolves fan, sadly there are a few times our fans make the headlines for the wrong reasons. The one that comes to mind when I was personally there was Port Vale away (should be mentioned that this was due to a cock up by the Police at the time, and WMP later admitted full responsibility and apologised)...

Funny I was going to mention that game too (if it was the one where some Wolves ended up being bitten by police dogs). To be fair, the violence was mainly from the Staffordshire police. Can see why so many people want to ban them and stop people breeding them.

Sadly, the worst violence I've seen was old gold on old gold. Started as banter in the gents when it seems someone was suggesting another lad had a small willy. Lots of joking and laughing then it all turned ugly as it turned out he really did have a small one. Kicked off a bit. After everyone had put their tackle away. Was at home, as well. Molineux, I mean. Not at my house.

Agreed, but in many ways it makes it worse. Young lads giving it the big'un knowing full well they'll leg it at the first opportunity because they have cameras and OB covering their back. Back in the good old days you'd get a clip round the ear if you played up near Elm Park or any other ground. Years ago we played up near Meadow Lane at Notts County (A) and I got knocked out cold, but you shrugged it off as it was part and parcel of playing up away and having no cameras about! Nowadays every fucker is filming it on their phones.

Let's not turn this into a dick waving contest.

Used to love listening to my older relatives stories from following villa home and away through the 70s and 80s.

Blame modern day technology and society. Gone are the days you can privately meet up for a scrap. Now you’ll always get one grass that films it on his phone and posts it for social media for the hits. Especially on a public platform such as Twitter or Instagram where anyone can see it whether they follow you or not.

A good friend of mine used to be in a firm for another north west club. Got involved with them via Bebo which is how they arranged meets etc online. The good old days!

Surprised to see the gash there. You never really hear anything about their antics by our local media..
Don’t you? The BP are now paying money for footage of football violence, they purchased videos of it going off down park street in the summer after an England game between a group of City and Rovers and they paid for footage of some Rovers fans running Oxford down Gloucester Road a couple of weeks ago after the game.

I know a Chelsea old boy who went to Either Rovers, or City away. They joined forces or summat along them lines for the visit of Chelsea.

Surely not?

Though Chelsea probably had the best mob going back in the 90s - quite a few of our lads used to go away with them and vice versa.

He said so. This would maybe have been in the 80s? A big mob like Chelsea turning up in the 80s would not surprise me if the whole of Bristol turned out for them.

I'm positive they don't have cameras in forests or the countryside. Why don't they meet up there? That's how they do it in Eastern Europe I'm told.

Blackburn got dealt with by the yoot dem in the alley behind Tellers.

Weird blokes, Blackburn fans.

Saw a guy in his late 20's in full on merch, with a blue & white jesters hat.

Hahaha. Sounds about right.

It really is a backwards as fuck town. Worse than Burnley.

I've worked in and visited hundreds of towns all over the UK and hand on heart, Blackburn is definitely in the top 5 creepiest places I've been.

TN cap, Adidas trackies tucked into white socks, with Rockports on the feet type of place.

They were mouthy too early on in town, until everyone started to come out into the pubs.....then they were getting kicked and chased all over the place. Ha!

There was a massive group of young lads who'd walked into town from Avenham roaming around looking for em. Which brought a smile to my face.

Was it the same young lads who turned up at Hillsborough a few years since did a lot of mouthing, got brave and attacked 3 stewards in the stand, then disappeared from sight outside the ground?
Right little bunch of chavvy wankers if it was.

Remember a mini bus load turning up at the Aston Social and putting the window through then running off when a load of villa went out after them. Few years back this was. They are a weird lot tbf.
