Lacazette has reportedly been ruled out for 3 weeks. Massive blow to Lyon. Would miss big games v Monaco and PSG.

Heard Tabanou is in talks with Swansea City. Hope nothing comes of it.

He'd be a good signing for Swansea, what's the price?

Lille's Pape Souaré has apparently joined Crystal Palace.

Finished 1-0 to PSG. Wasn't a great game but they got the job done. Lavezzi's goal was beautiful, if you haven't seen it, you must!

Marseille lead Evian 1-0 via an extremely soft Gignac penalty.

Monaco v Lyon tonight.
No AL so Benzia starts upfront. Hoping Cornet plays a part, good talent!

Heard good things about Benzia, what's the feeling about him in France?

What a fucking shit weekend this has been. I didn't watch our game against Rennes but, of what I heard, it was shit. Marseille vs Evian was no better and this is just plain awful. I really hope Monaco don't get the CL. They must be the most boring team to watch in the history of the world.

Well that was a great game..
The stamp from the Monaco player was shocking to see.
As for Benzia, supposed to be the next Benzema but can't see that happening. Still only 20, but finding games hard to come by as AL and Fekir are above him in order.
Just hope he becomes one of those forgotten footballers!

Another massive blow for Lyon ahead of their game against us on Sunday is the injury to Milan Bisevac he got at Lyon. He's out for 6 months, season's over.

Beat Lille in the League Cup last night. Horrible game with us not having to get out of first gear. Goal was good though but my god Lille are shit going forward.

They're in the relegation zone but are automatically in Ligue 2 next season anyway I believe. Just when their fans probably thought it couldn't get any worse.

Maybe I'm getting confused but I'm sure I read that their promotion has been ruled invalid and will therefore be in Ligue 2 next season?

No. What happened was that last summer they gained promotion on the pitch and should have been granted that irrelevant of their finances. However, the money man (a guy called Mammadov from Azerbaijan) is a very dodgy individual who is tighter than he says he is. Add his dodgniness to the fact that Lens can't play at their own stadium this season (renovation for Euro 2016) and instead play big games (against PSG, Lille) at the Stade de France and more modest ones at Amiens, the revenue has been minimal this season the league's fiancial policeman (called the DNCG) refused to grant them promotion at first. Lens had to appeal twice in the summer in order to be granted the right of playing in Ligue 1 with severe restrictions such as not buying anyone.

Thus they find themselves in Ligue 1 with a Ligue 2 squad. I'm confident that if they survive the DNCG won't relegate them as they will be going back to Bollaert (their stadium) and have added revenue. But they really need to find a more generous owner (I won't say richer as I'm sure Mammadov is loaded only it's questionable how clean his money is).

Btw, the DNCG effectively killed a small club named Luzenac who gained promotion from National (3rd tier) to Ligue 2. They didn't have the funds, were denied promotion and once they gave up it was too late to reinstate them in National so the club reformed as the reserve team.

Thanks, MM.

I got my information from a blog written by a Charlton fan, of course it's possible that I read it wrong, I will try and find the link.

If it's a more generous owner they desire then they should steer well clear of Roland Duchatelet.

After Lens won promotion to Ligue 1 in May, their promotion was blocked due to financial irregularities in Lens’ budget and some missing payments. This investigation has been rolling on all season, until last week when it was announced that Lens’ promotion last season has been ruled invalid, and thus will be automatically relegated to Ligue 2 for the 2015/16 season, regardless of where the team finish this season.

I think this might be a relevant article (in French): http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/La-justice-conteste-la-montee-de-lens/532156

Providing my French hasn't failed me (which there is a good chance of) it would seem that the court have ruled Lens' promotion to have been in error but that there is still two months to launch an appeal so far from a closed case yet.
I don't think this would mean an automatic relegation even if Lens stayed up. We shall see.
