Santos off again for a clumsy challenge? This surely can't be a coincidence. How many times does he have to make these basic errors for people to realise he's actually not that good? As I've said before, people think he's good because he's big and has got a presence. Turning circle of a tanker. Why has no-one taken a chance on him from higher up?
Santos off again because the referee does not know the basic rules. Should of been a caution no more because he was trying to play the ball, once the referee gives the penalty a red card should NOT be awarded with it.
He has had two red cards overthrown including at your place last season..............i expect the third one overthrown later today

Dont think he did get it over turned as he was sent off for two yellows which cant be appealed at our place... both fairly straightforward yellows.

If it was from the side or front then I think it gets overturned, but it was very poor and from behind, not sure how he thought he'd get the ball from that angle

UPDATE - Overturned

"According to the FA’s laws of the game, having attempted to play, or challenge for the ball, in conceding the spot-kick, Almeida Santos should have received just a caution."

Don’t think he had a choice other than to go for it because it was an empty net otherwise.

It's been overturned. Looked like he tried to get the ball but the Blackpool player stepped in front of him rather than him going through the back of someone as such.

Piss poor from the referee, does not even know the rules. One of a number of strange calls made.
3.31 on Saturday i posted this clowns going to cause a riot. And this was way before Santos was sent off.
Not just Bolton the refereeing standards in lge1 is very, very poor.
The league needs to be asking referees who do not know the rules why they make such calls

He’s been sent off 5 times for Bolton which is the worst in our history I believe… but 3 of those have now been rescinded. Absolutely ridiculous

Frustrating when they are rescinded., though we was never winning that game on Saturday if he had stayed on.
Our disciplinary record in lge1 is shocking though we are far from a dirty team.
I think some refs have got us marked for whatever reason especially when it concerns Thomason, Santos and Evatt.
Sheehan has been afforded no protection whatsoever and is targeted every week with cynical fouls against him being unpunished, as soon as he is late with a tackle against him he is then booked.
I hate to blame officials, but the standard is shocking in this league......And yes we have also benefited from bad calls
Tonight it will need a strong referee because the atmosphere will be toxic in the ground
Hope we can talk about the game and not the officials yet again

I agree that the refs are poor, we get it every week aswell. McInytre sent off for winning the ball with the Northampton lad going over the ball and breaking Toms ankle was frustrating. We had Sam Allison guessing all game v Cambridge. The stopped match Cambridge V Bolton how your defender didn't get sent off in the first few mins when the GK came and and he pulled down a Cambridge forward. But we've had soft pens, but some of the refs just have no clue in this division. Bishop gets pulled all over the shop and get nothing every game, but on the flip side we manage to win alot of soft fouls etc..

If anyone got a drum out at the Vale, it would probably shoved over their head after 5 minutes.

Our atmosphere is poor too. Mainly due to the fact that we've lost 10 at home but also our stadium is way too big, stands are too far away from the pitch and there's precious little interaction with the away fans now we have swapped ends. We desperately need to move to say a 12-15k stadium, with the scope to extend if needed. It's worked and really pushed a lot of other clubs on. Vale Park hasn't been a fortress for a long time, even when we've been promoted.
Knock down that Railway stand and build a smaller single tier stand right on the touchline. That is what you need. Like our popside. You can almost touch the players taking a throw in at our place. You need that. 20k is too big. Make it smaller and more intimidating.

Can you lend us some seats / a stand please. We really need expansion (would settle for a completed stand atm).

Lend us a concourse to finish ours and we can lend you some seats! At the moment the Lorne Street is a concourse short of being finish after breaking ground in 1997!

Agreed, its too big now, the "Wembley of the North" project when it was built I am sure was magnificent and the 50k capacity etc but it means the footprint is massive now with shallow open sides. If we could knock the Railway and build a stand similar to the Lorne Street without the boxes just more rows of seats, steeper and closer to the pitch it would be much better in there.

Not sure on the cost though because the Railway is built into a hillside so would have to remove all that earth as well.

It is other refs (ex) who decide to review the red cards as not really a good look for so many to be over turned ?
