How do you think I feel when I see ‘United’ and realise it’s about some team from Manchester?

Winds me up when the media refer to Manchester Utd as just United and Manchester City as just City. Its an insult to all other clubs with United or City in their name

Taking in my first trip to Harrogate tomorrow. Not expecting the greatest of venues and it will probably feel like an FA Cup away day at a non league ground, but be good to tick it off.

They’ll be up for it and wanting to end their dismal run of form and will see this as a perfect chance. It won’t be an easy game, but I honestly can’t see anything other than a Carlisle win. I think we’ll score just before half time then they’ll have a bit of a go but we’ll seal it in the last 10 minutes.

Suspect this is going to be a comfortable win for Newport but come on Colchester see if you can shithouse something tonight. Nowt at all against Newport but want their season to be as close to over for when they come to VP in just over a weeks time.

To be fair I did tune into your commentary for our game in the cup and I was confused that you kept calling yourselves City

HG's gone "mid-table happy", he'll be predicting a solid off season and several strong signings at this rate.

Not a good time for Don Telford to suddenly rediscover his form. Always suspected it’s was wishful thinking that Colchester were going to get anything.

I don't know why you're stressing about Newport - even if they win all their last 3 games they can only get 75 points and even at 1-0 their GD is 11 worse than yours.... If you can't get at least 1 point from 3 games you will probably be overtaken by 4 or 5 teams - but not Newport...

It’s not them overtaking us I’m bothered about. It’s more the fact I want their season to be done and dusted by the time they come to VP a week on Monday.

big cheers in Burslem

I think Mansfield and especially Tranmere also won’t be feeling too disappointed if Colchester can hold out. Akinde scoring and it not being a penalty must be a rare collectors item.

Well unless this turns round rapidly that's Newports' season over - and great news for Vale....

I wouldnt be so sure about that.
Tonight shows they bottle a must-win game at home against a pretty poor side. Pressure will be off by the time they play Vale, and sometimes that is harder to play against than a side with something to play for.

I think with Newport obviously they’ve got Telford who will finish as L2’s top scorer. Before tonight though he hadn’t scored a goal since February so makes you wonder if it was just one hell of a purple patch in which case anyone looking to sign him in the summer might need a bit of caution or teams have worked out how to stop Newport supplying him.

Even though it’s only a three point gap there’s a couple of teams with 2 games in hand on them now so think it’s as good as season over.

That Chilvers is a decent player for Colchester. I remember seeing him playing for Bath City not so long ago. Looks a bit full in the face but cant half shift

18 points from the last 10 games now, up to the dizzy heights of 15th. Can't grumble.

I'm not sure why Vale think this is a good result. Colchester had nothing to play for and went and got a win, who is to say Newport won't do the same.
I'm certainly not ruling Rochdale out tomorrow just because they are safe.

Yeah doesn’t make a difference to me other than an insurance policy that it’s better in terms of at least making the top 7 if we say lost the last three. It’s one less team to get us.

Next week means little if we don’t do the business tomorrow and keep the chasing pack at arms length but if Newport have no pressure it may help them for instance, or they may be more acceptant of a point and sit back so can go one of two ways.

Rowberry is giving off Anthony Hudson/Warren Feeney vibes. I can see this all going horribly wrong next season.

5th March you beat us and were looking at autos while we thought we'd be lucky to get play offs.
Fast forward a month and a half and now you are looking unlikely to get in the play offs and we are chasing the auto's
It's mad how things can change so quickly. You are one of the two clubs (also Exeter) who has looked very decent in both games against us. Maybe a lack of quality squad depth?
