She could but the point was that she already had, as I said I think Littlefinger is a big enough character that the show runners would make sure his death is on screen, a lot of fans would be pissed if we didn't see it.

Thought we'd see Cersei miscarriage but maybe she actually does have the child. Glad Jaime has finally seen the light.

Despite the predictability, it was still a massive shock to see LF die, as he's been one of the main characters for 7 seasons.

I'm glad they got back to some classic GoT too. This series has been far too focused on the action where logic has been completely forgotten.

Now just 18 months to wait for the finale

I would expect April 2019, going to be a long long wait.. Let's hope they can somehow avoid spoilers leaking out.

Good finale, but most of the "shocks" were things we already kind of expected. Littlefinger was poisonous and Sansa/Arya weren't going to stand for his shit (love that they actually used Brans powers to help them here too), we all knew the Jon Snow thing anyway (Still fucking satisfying to get confirmation), there was no way Cersei was playing ball, and there was no way this season was ending without the white walkers being south of the wall.

Not really, the show runners said they had too much stuff to do in 1 season but didn't want to do 2 complete seasons which is why the episodes are getting longer. We probably had an extra episode or two just in how long some of the episodes were this season. Rumour is next season most of them will be 80 minutes with the last couple practically being film length.

TBF, can't think of a genre fiction whose motifs are more recycled, than medieval fantasy. Both WoW and GOT are pure pastiche.
