Luke Steele was decent for us. Played a blinder in the Carabao cup against United.

Don’t really care he’s doing shit for you mind.
Luke Steele saved a peno against Fabregas last year, he’s a legend

Wasn’t who I was talking about mind!

Luke Steele does not concede pennos. Remember him saving like 15 (at least) in a shootout with Scunny back in the day.

Fair play to Preston deserved winners in the end, annoyed that Odubajo has given away 2 stupid penalties but we didn't turn up until the last 20 minutes when Reach and Nuhiu were thrown on. Iorfa has to come back in next week for Odubajo, the blokes costing us a goal every game he plays at the moment.

Not expecting us to be in the top 6 this season especially with the managerial situation, needs sorting out fairly soon and after the international break at the latest, hoping we take a punt on Alex Neil but don't think we can really go throwing much compensation at anyone right now.

Got him on a three year deal now so we might be ok.

He's on about Music from Man City. Looking like we might have dodged a bullet there.

Rudd's number 1 enemy here but he's been fine really.

Yeah can't see us being able to chuck money around we've just had a good summer where FFP is concerned so doubt we'll risk it. It'll be an unemployed manager but the options are pretty shit apart from Rowett and Hughton who doesn't want it.

Watching the highlights last night and some of leeds play and interchange was sublime.
They should have had 6 or 7.

Its surreal sometimes on our day we are streets ahead

Same issue as last season though thin squad if we get last seasons key injuries its 3rd to 6th again if we stay fit gotta be top 2

If stoke had butland in goal yesterday was 6 nil atleast. Federici made 3 superb saves that one from Costa was ridiculous

Leeds easily the best team I saw last season and they didn't even make it to the play-off final.

Harsh league this one.

To the Bees fans that said Dan Bentley had lost it, he must have got it back as he's been really good for us so far. Maybe the move was just what he needed. Same with Afobe TBH.
Lots of new players and we're doing alright although injuries are becoming an issue.
Glad he is doing well - was quality for us apart from the last 18 months, though we didn’t exactly help him out.

First signal I’ve had in a couple or days, second game we’ve lost this season 1-0 that we’ve seemingly dominated and had at least 7x more shots than the opposition.

Does sound that while we were insanely unlucky against Birmingham, Charlton defended well and most of our efforts were from range.

A lot of what we’re doing is great, but we really need to figure out our issues in the final third / get some luck!

Weren't you the same at the start of last season?

Get a striker and you’ll be fine. A lot of your build up play is excellent but there is no cutting edge once around the box.

We were extremely fortunate to come away with anything, easily the worst I’ve seen us play for quite some time, although the defending was heroic at times but we just couldn’t get going with the ball, so sloppy. That said, Brentford are the best side we’ve played this season, comfortably. Don’t like a lot of the falling over and always whinging/sulking at the ref from a few of your players though, namely Marcondes.

Yeah he’s been out of form and has started doing that a lot - I don’t like it either.

We should turn it around soon - usually after a couple of international breaks the team settles and we play like we should. Becoming an annual occurrence though where we struggle for a while after losing key players.

Boro at home next, going into it on the back of three straight wins and we seem to always go into international breaks with 4 consecutive wins and then come back afterwards and look sluggish, think it's a Lee Johnson thing.

Bentley
Hunt Moore Baker Rowe
Massengo Brownhill Palmer
Weimann
Diedhiou Afobe

City 2-1 Boro. (Afobe 20', Diedhiou 26') (Assombalonga 76')

Good to see Benik back to knocking the goals in for you. Must say I like the ex Wolves look you have going forward with him and Weimann, hell even Tommy Rowe is getting a game too...

Not a massive fan of Rowe but he's doing a job in a position he's not familiar with, hasn't done anything wrong yet really. We've been spoilt with left backs having Kelly, Da Silva, Cunningham and Bryan the last few years though.

Was Weimann at Wolves when Afobe was? They've formed one hell of a partnership already, our third goal Saturday an example of that.

Nah I think they were 6 months apart, Afobe was in the Dicko/Sako era whilst Wiemann was the first Fosun season with Paul Lambert.

Never really saw Rowe at Wolves much, he only ever got a few minutes here and there but he was probably one of the most non-existent signings I can remember us making. Couldn't even tell you what he looked like tbh.

Forest away on Saturday, not a bad hunting ground for us in recent years.

They've made so many signings that it's hard to know how strong the side they put out last night was, Grabban will be a threat and the likes of Lolley and Adomah are dangerous at this level.

Browne looked absolutely fucked last night so can't see him playing, would like Harrop to keep his place but its hard to second guess Alex Neil right now. I'd probably go with Maguire up front and leave Stockley on the bench for late in the game, he hasn't started the season particularly well.

Barkhuizen pulled his groin last night so won't be available and no idea how Bauer is doing with his hip. Start of this season's injury nightmare?

Team i'd go for, fitness dependent.

Rudd
Fisher, Storey, Davies, Hughes
Pearson, Gallagher
Bodin, Johnson, Harrop
Maguire

Derby at home this weekend - really in need of some luck, and some goals! The results haven't been good enough so far - we've had two incredibly unlucky defeats - which if we had won would make the situation look a lot better, but then had a fair amount of luck in our only win against Boro.

Derby haven't started particularly well themselves from the looks of their results, though I haven't seen much of their games so far. A win would be a big boost to either team.

I don't think we'll see Karelis just yet, though hopefully he'll be fit enough for a spot on the bench - we need him, or someone else, to step up in the striker role.

We'll probably keep the team reasonably settled, though hopefully Benrahma is fit enough to start, as he's looked very good when he has come on, and go for something like the below:

Raya

Dalsgaard - Jeanvier - Jansson - Pinnock - Henry

Norgaard - Jensen

Mbeumo - Watkins - Benrahma

Subs: Daniels, Racic, Thompson, Mokotjo, Marcondes, Canos, Karelis
Shows how good our squad depth is that I can't fit the likes of Dasilva and Valencia onto the bench!
