Alien Ant Farm Sunday night was a good show, they're incredibly tight but Dryden Mitchell is a bit of an arse. His stage persona brought the whole performance down a bit.
Soil were superb though and Local H were also quite impressive.
I saw the Sherlocks for the first time in 2015 at the Maze in Nottingham. They were probably the best unsigned live band I've ever seen, but about three years on and they pretty much have the same setlist bar a couple of songs. In fact, some of the songs they were singing years ago but have just changed a few lines and instrumentals. I've seen them 6-7 times now, mostly at little gigs a couple of years ago and as support acts, I didn't even bother with their latest one.
Saw Flaming Lips at the Junction tonight. Saw them about 10 years ago and was prepared for it to be slightly weird but this was another level, absolutely bonkers but brilliant too. I don’t know how you describe that, just “wow” I guess.
Seeing Poly-Math in a couple of weeks, Prodigy at the Echo Arena next month, Hook Worms at the Ritz, then Pigeon Detectives at Preston Minster in December.
