Nosebleed oncoming. We’ve not been at this level since 2001/02 and it was called Division 2 then.

We’ll probably be favourites to come down but being the underdog suits us. So what are we to expect next season? Presumably the football is a bit better but my take on it is that the sides towards the bottom wouldn’t look out of place in League 2 while the ones at the top wouldn’t look out of place in the Championship and there’s a handful in the middle.

I feel that the main difference is that the strikers miss fewer chances in League One, and that more teams are cuter at the shithousery stuff.

Ps forgot to say welcome.

This league one forum needs us (Cambridge and Bolton) more than we need you. Why is it sooooooo dead on here?

It’s quieter in general yes, but no league games today and a lot of the final places have been decided. It’s only Charlton, Oxford and Pompey going after the final playoff spot tomorrow and nothing else.

Welcome back though.

Congrats to the L2'ers.

Feels unusual for three young, relatively inexperienced managers to get autos. No idea whether it's a more common occurrence than I've noticed before.

Yeah, that's it basically. The pace of the game is higher but I think there are a lot more fast players in the league full stop. At L2 level, and I'm perhaps generalising too much, you either get players who're are technically sound but lack that bit of pace (not that they're slow, just not *quite* quick or fast enough) or those who're basically glorified sprinters but not so much here.

You start seeing some genuinely good footballers as well, whether that's in the relegated Championship squads or young PL/Championship lads on loan.

I think the first part is right. However, the jump to the Championship is looking tougher each season. Generally, at least two of the teams promoted from League One come straight back down the following season. A few have survived and then gone on to flourish, e.g. Barnsley, Luton and Coventry. Some seem doomed to forever yo-yo between the two e.g. Rotherham.

However, I have a feeling that the teams going up this season may fare a bit better. Many Championship clubs have had to really cut back on spending due to the pandemic. Many of them overreached quite badly to try to get to the Prem.

Welcome Cambridge and Bolton. There is definitely a gap between league 1 & 2. Those that have been promoted will need to improve. I’m expecting a very competitive league next year. The teams relegated from the championship will be strong. Those who narrowly miss out in and around the play offs will be strong. Ipswich and Wigan have new owners and will likely improve a lot. Bolton probably have the recourses to challenge also.

In the L2 forum recently, you have to look hard to find the worthwhile posts in amongst all the petty squabbling.
A lot of good posters in there. FGR Stroud posting the weekend fixture threads early with head to head info, odds and results from previous games. It gets the content going.

I noticed in here no-one posted anything about the weekends games until Thursday. So who is going to take that role on next season?

Well the the three teams up will contribute. Hope Tranmere dont make it, Nothing against them and they have 4/5 who contribute well, but they also have the Birk from Birkenhead and unfortunatly he has a personal vendetta against anything Bolton.
FGR have 3/4 decent posters and Morecambe/Newport a couple each who contribute
Coming down Shef wed will proberbly have several..................New start i expect lge 1 forum to be pretty active this summer

The league one forum has been dead for a while dead. What happened to Serawa? Or whatever he was called.
Hoping it is more lively next season.
Sounds like it might be...

Let’s be honest, the latter is just as ridiculous with their comments.

Hopefully the league gap will see a return a more readable football forum this upcoming season!

Some big football clubs in the league this year, promises to be a good one. Fingers crossed come August we’ll all be back in the grounds.

Enjoy your summer’s folk, with the Euro’s and Olympics - At least we won’t be bored!

How’s Brad Halliday doing? Likely to stay? I see he’s out of contract.

Terrible this season, and if rumours are true he's got a bad attitude.

Has largely been phased out since Butler became manager and doubt he'll be here next season even with (another) change of manager looking likely.

Hard to disagree with this to be fair.

Masi is a wum, but it's easy to ignore him unless you wanted to make the day go a bit quicker by calling him out on his incoherence. Robshep just can't leave it with him though and I wouldn't be surprised if he comes onto the League 1 forum next season a few times even if Tranmere aren't promoted.

Can’t remember ever playing Cambridge in my lifetime.

Edit: Just checked, I was 3 the last time we played one another.

What sort of away ticket allocation can we expect? (assuming we’ll be able to do away days etc).

When we played them last, I'm sure we were given over 2000 - that included the stand behind the goal and half the side stand.
