Until Sherwood came Benteke would have been in the worst team of the season (with the rest of the squad) so that doesn't really mean anything.

true but in this case it means something because weve all seen what a fine player benteke is but he just suffered a bad patch of form. origi on the other hand is a dog shit level player when on top top form so he is perfectly suited to liverpool absolutely no doubt about that.

A few things to tweak and correct and Liverpool will be there or thereabouts again next season. I personally don't think a major overhaul is needed.

Where or whereabouts? Top four at best.

Agree. A centre back, centre mid and a goal scoring forward. Combined with consistent team selection and formation. I agree, top 4 is achievable. After the season we've just had, that's what we need to do now.

When Gary Neville said the culture around Liverpool FC had to change, he was on about shit like this - http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/champions-league-final-2005-live-9328312

That is an arena full of fans celebrating a trophy won ten years ago, watching the game as if it was live. The Echo are tweeting it.

That's some embarrassing shit
It was a great night, leave them be, I'm sure you reminisce about the final in '99 or 2008 (was it?) when Man Utd reached the summit. It wont happen again for either teams for a long while so let them enjoy it.

I wouldn't pay to go to an arena full of people and watch it like it was live. Pure cringe.

Thats the way I see it, perhaps another two forwards in case Origi is going to be another Aspas or Borini. They'll have enough money with the dead wood to get rid of and the incoming Sterling money. Also lets see how this years signings progress, they may get going too. I don't see it as all doom and gloom, there was poor judgement shown by all parties and circumstances worked against Liverpool to an extent, but they weren't that far away from reaching the top four despite all that and did fine in the domestic cups so the foundations are there to kick on, but I accept it will be even harder to achieve CL football being out of it once more and the fact that the others will strengthen (though I still think City and Man Utd have questions to be answered too).

City should go for Ancelotti, it makes perfect sense for them if they want to be taken seriously in Europe again.

It also looks like Rafa will end up at Real, which leaves Klopp with...PSG? City? Napoli? All better options than Liverpool at the moment.

Why on earth Rafa would go to Real? Terribly stupid move by Pérez if it happens. Then again, Klopp aside, I just don't see who they could get who would want such a risky job. Need to win a major trophy per year to stay on. Suicidal move for any up-and-coming manager.

If Man City are serious about keeping Mancini then I don't see why Ancelotti wouldn't go to Liverpool. Would be a good challenge for him if he is given the funds.

Because Perez is stupid, and he also mentioned something about hiring a Spanish speaking manager now. Who else but Rafa? And he obviously wouldn't say no to that.

I can imagine him substituting Ronaldo with 5 minutes left in the clasico when Real are down. Hah.

Always thought he or Valverde would be a good choice for one of the big two over there. Emry would definitely fit the bill given free reign (which of course wouldn't happen).

Agree about going to Real Madrid is a huge mistake for an up-and-coming manager, but if they come calling you'd be mad not to go to the biggest and most glamorous club in the world.

Toure can either be good or ropey, I don't mind him tbh, if he's only used sparingly. As long as Johnson is out the fucking door.

Agree, he's ok, would look good in a team coming up from the Championship. Problem this season was how often he was the main defender in a back 3... In big games! Not his fault. Scary to go into another season with that possibility.

Totally agree on Johnson. Good riddance!

My first post on here...hope it's a good one!

Realistically...there is not another manager out there who I would bank on taking us back to the top 4 next season. I keep hearing Klopp but would he come to Anfield? I've not been aware of his amazing transfer dealings...only hear when Bayern take his best players.

I'm hoping Brendan and FSG will learn from this season especially FSG. Buying young players, not getting contracts sorted with players quickly and faffing about with transfer targets lies with them. We need to go with signing experience this summer and get it done quickly.

My hope is guys like Markovic, Can, Moreno etc will have learnt from their first season with us and do what guys like Henderson and Lucas did and improve next season. This is what I think Brendan Rodgers can do. He knows that squad, brought the new guys in and can develop them to contribute lot more next season. That is the only thing which works for Brendan to keep his job. I think he's the right man to manage Jordan Ibe who would be Sterling's successor.

If he ends up staying....If rumours are true Ings is better than what we have right now. Milner will bring much needed experience and Benteke would be the deadly marquee striker we need. It would give Origi time to settle too.

Money does need to be spent but more importantly the current players need to step up and improve. You look at Utd and it wasn't Falcao and Di Maria who got them into top 4. It was existing players like De Gea, Fellaini, Carrick, Rooney, Mata and Young who stepped up. We need guys like Mignolet, last summer signings, Flanagan and Sturridge to recover and step up.

It's not ideal but there isn't another LVG type person out there who would come to us. I still think Klopp will go Man City. So who else is left? This is why I think Brendan will stay on as he has had these guys for a few years now and stability gives us better chance for top 4 rather than sack him and leave ourselves open to hire an underwhelming new manager.

If he settles into the Liverpool way of playing relatively quickly I think he's got a great chance of being upgraded from the Ligue 1 Worst XI to the Premier League Worst XI. Progress.

I think they need to get rid of him, last season was a one off, the standard of the premier league last season wasn't great and Suarez and Sturridge dragged them to 2nd.

His signings are absolutely awful, I wouldn't trust him with another penny. And his tactics are shocking.
