Really? I don't think so. Yes, he has his moments but day in day out as a consistant performer I'd take Brannagan over him anytime.
Brannagan is far more consistent

Big appointment this for Derby, been reading their forum and Jesus some don't realise how they stand.

Dyche and Hughton as options then an Evatt or Robins too.

Apropos of nothing, I think it'll be Liam Rosenior.

Regarding Cheltenham - the decision has apparently been made and it's just contract details being sorted this weekend, announcement on Monday (according to our local Journo). It seems like it'll be Wade Elliott, but it really could be anyone at this point.

EDIT: It is Wade Elliott:

Derby isn't now a job for a rookie like Rooney to be taking on. It's one of those jobs that now has the potential to ruin someone's reputation.

Another club appointing the assistant after losing the manager. Worked for us and Plymouth.

On Sky Sports News ticker earlier they said it's Wade Elliott but not sure whether they've jumped the gun.

EDIT - Just seen Si's post above.

Following the departure of Vale coach Dean Whitehead to Besiktas in have come David Dunn and Carlo Nash.

Final piece of the coaching staff moves on/gets replaced, GK coach gone to Grimsby and we've replaced him a guy from Wolves.

Never known a summer like it in terms of backroom changes - I make it 6!

Great player was David Dunn, yet when I see or hear his name all I can think of is this...

Merry Christmas to all brewers from JFH.
Should not have gone on this long and he should have been sacked.
Problem now is, who next ?
We have sold all our strikers - so we are going to struggle.

The timing seems a bit strange now the window is shut. In theory you’d think Burton would be an appealing job. Stable club and an owner who as we’ve seen here is very patient. Think with JFH after we played you he was on Sky the next day talking about Chelsea’s tactics etc when you’d think he’d have been better served reviewing his own. That wouldn’t have sat well with me if it was Vale.

Exactly.
He talked a good game.
Did a great job to keep us up but since then the football has been turgid. Our gates have dropped off by 1,000.

Burton Directors all left with 20 minutes still to play, and were seen together in a huddle just afterwards. I suspect they'd decided enough was enough and would pull the trigger, but gave him the chance to fall on his sword first.

Yes, because that would be a cheaper option for them. Just sack him and pay up already.

The cocksucker has come out and complained about the lack of resources he was given.
We had one of the biggest squads in league 1. In the last window he signed over 10 players.
Ben backed him every time.
The issue is he bought players like kids in a sweet shop. He had no strategy.
Totally clueless.
And in the last few weeks he has let players go he didn’t fancy despite hardly playing them. Like moult to Motherwell. And adaheme to Ipswich when he started scoring goals.
Amazes me how he is so well respected.
He is finished in management in my opinion.

Our fans want mouse as our next manager. Has done his licence apparently. Reckon you would let him go if it came to it ? Surely his legs have gone now anyway.
He was a legend for us - but that is not a reason to think he will be a good manager imo.

I doubt we'd let him go currently based on having a long injury list (including one of our centre backs and our starting left back/wing back) and he is starting games as part of 3 at the back. Including Mous, we currently have 5 fit centre backs and 1 of them (Sam Long) is supposed to be right back/wing back (but he can play across the defence), one centre back (Ciaron Brown) played against you as left wing back, and an 18 year old on his 1st pro contract. If it was January then I suspect it may be different as he could be replaced in the squad.

Of course I could be wrong but I hope not as he is playing well.

He is also a part of our coaching set up. I suspect he will be a good manager though just based on his time as a coach with us.

As a player Mous hardly plays now, but he was often an unused substitute last season. He's very much seen as part of the coaching staff, rather than playing staff, but our current injury crisis has meant he's having to play a few games at the moment.

Another factor is his position as Chairman of the PFA. For this he needs a playing contract (which could be player/manager I guess) but would this be a conflict of interest? I suspect he'd give up the PFA role if he became a manager, but think his overall aim is to move full time into management when he's ready, so this may be a bit soon for him? Many of us see him as the next Oxford United manager when Karl Robinson's time is up, which may be sooner rather than later if this season continues as it's started.

I know how well he gets on with Ben Robinson, so that is another factor to consider. Difficult one to call, but he's a very strategic bloke so (no disrespect intended) he might think he can do better than pick up the pieces of JFH's fuck up, and bide his time. I can see you appointing Dino Mamaria until January, when the landscape may look different for all parties?

Maamria until the end of the season, which I don't think will see much of a change? Always seemed to me that it was his stamp on the team in terms of style more than JFH?

That smacks of taking the cheap option. Not reading anything into his time at Oldham as frankly nobody could succeed under the then owner but his Stevenage team were Westley style shithouses so maybe they will just reduce every game to a dogfight and see how it goes. Could work but I'd have thought they'd be better served looking outside the club for a fresh start.

I don’t rate Dino.
I’m hoping it’s just an interim thing as it’s massively underwhelming and as you say his style of football won’t win any friends.
If we lose a couple he will move on im sure.
We need a fresh change and new blood in - before we are cut adrift.

yeah, that reeks of the cheap option. The only thing I can think of is if there were a bunch of players that respected Maamria but not JFH then I can kind of see it, but otherwise this seems pretty dodgy to me.

Wasn’t he in charge of Stevenage when they were so bad for shithousery Pope said if they were the only club who offered him a deal he’d retire!

Reports coming out of the club and on the bbc that he has the job full time, but I can’t get a conclusive answer. Ben is radio silence as usual.
If that is the case, I will go Saturday but if he starts with his shithousery tactics and trying to rob a 1-0 every week - I won’t go. And neither will many others.
God hope it’s not true and he is just the interim.

Hope for your sake that he finds another tactic other than just playing for long throws.

Seems a fair few journos are tweeting out that Rosenior now gone from Derby though think he was only still temporary. Rumoured they are interested in Paul Warne, can’t imagine he’d leave Rotherham at this stage surely even if Derby are the bigger club of the two.
