I think he walked rather than sacked, owner publicly stated he wanted him to stay.

Leam Richardson is available !

He might not take you back up but if you suffer from insomnia his interviews will have you snoring in no time.

Looks like it’s Michael Duff to take the hot seat at Huddersfield….

Duff is a sensible appointment for Huddersfield.

I thought they moved away from previous managers because of a 'footballing' approach, but not sure they'll get that with Duff?

We have had about 7 managers in the last two years so we probably just ran out of reasons for sacking them.
No guarantees but Duff with a good budget sounds decent to me, the fact his style of play didn’t fit in at Swansea won’t be a problem here, think Barnsley and Cheltenham fans both rate him, though the former probably won’t like it if we go in for a few of their players as rumoured so far.

I said it previously, the trouble with Evatt is that he's not a likeable person at all. His arrogance far outweighs his ability. As soon as he doesn't back up his massive ego it was only going to go one way. I can imagine that there are Bolton fans that have never liked him. I'd be amazed if he's still in a job tomorrow given the huge gulf in resources that Bolton had over the rest of the division barring perhaps Derby.

Loved by our owners. His heart is in the right place but tactically he has not got a clue.
I know you have been a critic of Santos and tonight is the first time i agree with you.............Would be happy if we kick off August with a new manager and new Captain............Still think Santos is class and Evatt will go on to a decent Management career, but i think it is time for the board to be brave

I don't think he's an awful player by any means. I just think he has a mistake in him in virtually every game that I've seen him play. That's just not good enough for a team that's going for promotion. I also think that he stands out because he is huge rather than being particularly good. There's a reason that nobody from higher up has tried to sign him.

I know Bolton were at a low ebb and Evatt turned you around and got you promoted from league 2...but I could have got you promoted from league 2, you must have had 4 times the budget of most teams. In league 1, your budget is still far bigger than 90 odd percent of teams, so to miss out on automatic promotion by quite a long way in the end would simply not be acceptable to me if I was a Bolton fan. Then that today was just rank poor management and tactics. I'm not convinced he will go on to have a great career....I think most managers would have been capable of doing what he's done in the past 3 or 4 years....I think there's many that would have you in the Championship by now.

Be amazed if either player or manager ends up above the level they are currently at.

I am more at ease than most fans...I like to see both sides of a debate [discussion]. Santos is a class above lge one but yes he can be a liability. If he was not we would be asking 20m for him . Doubt we get more than 1m

Today i think we are at a cross roads as a club. Next season i think we will get automatic promotion with a change of manager.

Anyway the fight will soon be on....Just back and i need another beer

Will be back sometime in Juy

That Santos wouldn't start for a single Championship club. 28 and you still expect him to fuck up every other week. No one would pay £500k for him never mind a £1m.

I agree. I think a change of manager will get you promotion. I feel that Evatt has literally done the minimum required of a manager of Bolton. There's got to be 100s of managers that would have had a similar record to him over the last 4 years. You need to find someone who can actually improve you as a club.

I think I'll always disagree about Santos. The fact he makes so many mistakes means he'll always be a League 1 player at best. Again, it's his size that makes him stand out but it's to his detriment to, as he's so clumsy.

Big chance for Clarke at Barnsley, will be interesting to see how that pans out.

DC never seems to get clubs at the top end of of L1, failed here and at Vale in L1 and put both clubs in a downward spiral.
For a club who sacked a manager when they were in a play off place he will need to start off well

To be fair to DC he has us 9th in League One before Flitcroft and the recruitment messed around that January which caused the slide, losing Connor Hall, injuries to all our strike force and just a cheap loanee defender in to replace him.

Be an interesting challenge for DC at Barnsley. Most of his previous jobs he’s initially been brought in to try and avoid relegation then rebuild. At Barnsley he’s going into a team where the expectation is instantly going to be playoffs. Glad he’s getting this opportunity and hopefully it works well for him.

I thought Patterson would be out at Burton at the end of the season. Having such an obvious pop at your own fans usually only ends one way eventually.

EDIT - Just seen on BBC Sport that he left yesterday!

Wasn't there long - as you say falling out with the fans never helps.
