True, although if they lived elsewhere bar London they would have even more disposable income doing the same job. The saving grace is Bristol is also an ace place to live compared to other towns/cities in L1
As someone with are mates there, I fully agree Bristol is a brilliant place. Only other UK city I think I would want to live in outside of London. Though not sure all the cider and weed is conducive to being a professional footballer.

Also, I think Cambridge and Oxford are more expensive than Bristol but this is actually quite a big issue for us and other lower league London clubs. Obviously players should be ok to get by comfortably on an average League One wage but Greenwich is such an expensive part of London that we genuinely need to offer quite a fair amount more in wages to be as attractive financially as other league one clubs, all with our ticket prices etc being on par with others in the league so we don't get much extra revenue from being in London.

Think the ridiculous prices in London are partly to blame for all the chancers we've had in as owners. The land we did own in Greenwich is worth a fortune.
People always say no-one wants to come to Lincoln as it's in the middle of nowhere, but then housing is cheap, so maybe it's not as unattractive as I thought

If Elliot Watt has a cabbage fetish you’ll be in pole position to sign him up.

It looks like Andre Breitenreiter is about to leave us. I would’ve hoped he would stay on to rebuild the squad but doesn’t look like that’s the case.

The new(ish) direct train route to Kings Cross in 90 minutes has helped, likewise the dual carriageway all the way to Nottingham. Manchester isn't too bad once you've got the A15 out the way with.

That's insane. It takes longer than that from Pompey on the 'fast' train. The perks of being on a mainline i guess.

Tell a lie, I'm thinking of Newark to Kings Cross that's 90 minutes. Still under two hours from Lincoln to Kings Cross so that's pretty good.

Yeah London to Newark is around 1.15 direct. A few direct trains straight through to Lincoln, otherwise a change is needed.

They're also meant to be sorting out the Newark bypass - dualling it etc, which should make that pinch point much easier with the A1.

Lincoln is a nightmare to get to with the roads, I was not aware housing was cheap mind but then again I’ve never looked!

Our fortunes have improved significantly since the A14 got fixed,

Coincidence? Let's ask Le Tiss...

Sorry, just asked him and it turns out that none of your players got the COVID jab which is why they’re no longer being controlled by the government. Also, birds aren’t real.

Wellens has signed a new 3 year deal, thank fuck for that. Hopefully he can convince El Mizouni to come back now.

Good news short term for sure, can't see anyone wanting to poach him this summer now unless they want to pay silly money.

We won't get a better manager IMO, very pleasing for all concerned this has been done so quickly, so well done to our board for nailing this down.

If by some miracle we do better next season and make the top 6 then he'll be off in 12 months IMO - thats a BIG IF we do well next year though, there is still that chance we will struggle with 4 going down.

Alex Revell named Stevenage manager - think he was already there on the coaching staff and has been manager there before?

Stevenage will struggle next season. Massively overachieved last season and the rot had already set in before Evans departed.

Seems a risky one, that. But I'm going to guess that the pool of managers is pretty small when you're a club who've realistically reached their peak and then overachieved in the division on top of that as well.

I suppose in some respect they've tried to mitigate the risk and too many changes and promoted from within with presumably the same style of play.

Very underwhelming appointment.

Phil Wallace spoke last week about aiming for the Championship, this appointment screams League 2 more than it does Championship. I get we're punching being at this level but I expected more than us reappointing someone that was largely out of their depth at the level below.

I really like Revell, seems like a good egg, but based on his last spell in charge I'm not sure he's management material, not at this level and not this point anyway. I was genuinely disappointed when we sacked him back in 2021 but understood that it was the right move. For him to come back and be part of a successful setup under Steve Evans was incredibly pleasing and a far better chapter to end on than his previous stint.

Just think it's the wrong appointment, really hope I'm wrong but don't see this ending well at all.

Matt Taylor (ex-Shrews) has gone to Wealdstone. Guess that shows that a job is a job!

As expected he left last night, rumour mill in full swing, no idea who the replacement will be, but they’ll be under pressure to hit the ground running!

That's a bit of a Drop-off!
I think probably more Taylor's level at the moment. Nice guy but is of the new breed of academy coaches who stick to a philosophy no matter the circumstances of the game, with no plan B. Seemed a but of a left-field appointment at the time given his record at Walsall in league 2.

In his favour, was hampered by injuries early season, and had his assistant Bignot imposed on him by the DoF who wasn't liked by the players. Good luck to him and hope it works out.
