In today's market, i'd expect something in the region of £48m for Daniel Johnson + add ons.

Bristol would accept £3m and be buzzing about it lets be reyt, can pay for a few more seats in that empty bowl they're buidling.
Oh aye - that'll accumulate to about less than 0.2% of Lansdowns worth, I expect he's found more down the back of his sofa!

No point saying you've got a billionaire owner if he makes 2 signings a season.

Ours is worth a fraction but we make a signing every other week.

Difference is Tony Stewart cares about club and wants to improve us to stay up, it's quite evident yours doesn't give a fuck.

Ha, that's because Rotherham just mass buy every shitty reject, unwanted youth player or free agent that moves in the hope of finding a hidden gem and fuck off the other 20 a few months later

But our shitty rejects, unwanted youth players and free agents are still above you and beat you comfortably.

Not saying it will last but you can see what I mean ?

Anyway that way of running the club was the main reason Steve Evans is no longer here, it's not affordable to us in this league.

That's not really difficult at the mo TBH Bri. You may want to set your sights a bit higher.

I don't think we can make judgement on what Redfearn is doing until the end of this window.
He is shifting out the ones that haven't delivered which SE bought in the summer, lets see who replaces them.
I didn't want SE to go but Redfearn at least deserves the chance to fail with his own players.

He's on 8 now.

2 sicknote journeymen.
1 loanee already sent back and another one on the way.
One convict who's already suspended.

Cant judge Facey and Belaid yet.

Sure there's another one too.

Failing already.

Failure can't be decided until the end of the season.
If he builds a team that doesn't stay up, or at worst he doesn't build a team that looks strong enough to bring us back up.
Ultimately, that's failure.

Agree, His signings so far have been absolute shocking, there either injured all the time like Best and Kelly or there just plain shite and not good enough for the championship like Toffolo and Barker, less said about the Lenighan deal the better, the only decent player he fetched in so far has been Hyam but we didn't keep him for long did we. I also think his player selections so far have been a joke aswel, i don't know how he can leave players like Thorpe and Ledesma out of the match day squads and have Collins and Green in there who are constantly shite. Im no convinced at all with him atm but ill give him till the end of the season and hope im wrong.

Hyam that's it!!

He loaned a player to get him match fit for another championship side. Embarrasing who the fuck does that?

Just to answer your question about Hyam, you do realise that when Ipswich's injury listed has subsided, that it's quite possible he will be willing to come back and help us out.

In any case, it's not embarrassing to borrow players if that are a better option than what we have. If that helps his parent club so what?
We do it with the players we have sent out on loan, surely you remember Mullins coming back into the team and helping us to promotion.
Sadly, a lot of our fans fail to accept that we are a small fish in a very big pool, we can't afford big signings and huge wages.
We have been in admin twice I personally would rather Tony Stewart run a tight ship and go down than risk our future.

Look at the summer signings made by SE, no-one can say that he was not backed by TS.
Lee Camp, Joe Mattock, Joe Newell, Tony Andreu (departed), Odjidja-Ofoe (departed), Grant Ward. Danny Collins, Lewis Buxton, Tom Thorpe.

Emmanuel Ledesma, Greg Halford (waiting to go back on loan), Chris Maguire (out on loan), Kelle Roos (loan now departed), Aidy White (departed).
Please correct me if I have missed any of the signings SE made for this season before he departed at the end of September.
I think most of our fans would agree the ones in green have been largely impressive, with the odd poor showing here and there.
The ones in amber have been pretty inconsistent with the odd decent display just to give you some hope, but then dashing those hopes in the next game.
The players in red have been largely dire, and apart from Ledesma have been dumped.
Redfearn has brought in some players that have been disappointing, we will have to see how the 2 new lads work out. What should be remembered though, is that we have a very low budget for this league most of which SE spent in the summer. He is hamstrung by that, so any signings we make will be what's left after the bigger teams (nearly everbody) have had their pick.
That means there will be some failures because that's unavoidable.
As a big Steve Evans fan, I will always be grateful for the wonderful 3 seasons he gave us.
I realise that he didn't pay out much in transfer fees this season but I have to ask myself if that squad of players above looks like an awful lot of wasted wages.
Maybe you two could ask yourselves the same questions, and give the guy a break, at least until the end of the season.

Yeah ive already said i would like him to be judged at end of the season because managers dont get much time nowadays, im just a bit puzzled with the signings he's made so far which ive already pointed out, im amazed you haven't got Danny Collins in the red zone though :bg: ,he's being consistently dire throughout the season so far and been at fault for alot of goals.

Must admit I thought about it but gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Either way money not well spent by our former boss.

It was the same situation last year, seems to be SE's strategy in management. If you'd signed a few less players you might have been able to pay for a few more good ones.

It is his strategy and in the second division and to a certain extent the first we had enough funds for a top 6 budget.
So he could sign a load of players in the close season, dump the ones that don't work out in January and go again.
It worked very well for us because the wages weren't high so we could just about afford to pay off the ones who did not work out.
The Championship is a very different kettle of fish though we can't afford that strategy up here.

Too early to say we're not gonna be involved in this thread for once this season?

Looks like a battle between the current bottom 5.

You're fine mate. If you lose the next 10 games in a row I still don't think us or Charlton will overtake you.

Yep,
I can't see Bolton (financial), Charlton (shit), or ourselves (see Charlton) getting out of trouble. The rest have no worries about going down to the cess pit league. It's sorted!

There's almost always at least 1 team that gets sucked in from mid table in the 2nd half of the season. Could be Fulham, no idea how given their team on paper and the fact they're still the highest scorers in the division but they've been in shocking form for a while now.

Or even a Blackburn, QPR, Leeds, Forest wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility. I mean they're equally as likely to go on a good run and be sniffing around a playoff place, but that's the Championship

I actually don't think there'll be too much change at either end. Just can't see any team flying up the league or dropping like a stone. We're still not very good but those results we've got under Evans have seen us pretty much safe now. Can't see us slipping back into the mire from here but it's still more likely than the top six

There won't be much change at either end, the entire league is devoid of any real quality. No teams are really good enough to climb the table so the ones above them will be fine.

I do agree with this. We've just had a very good run, and we're sitting not that far outside the play offs, but we are a shadow of what we were last season. Really think most of the table will stay as it is from now on, with a few movements but nothing of massive note (apart from Brighton continuing to plunge down the table)

We need 5 more wins I reckon.

I think MK Dons will go down, joining Charlton and Bolton.

Rotherham didn't look that bad a side to me and can pull a win out of the bag now and then, reckon Bristol City will land some decent players this window as well, the money is there.

I wouldn't hold your breath about the 'Bristol City will land some decent players this window as well, the money is there.'
The money is there but nobody wants to come to us. Gray, Gayle, McGuire and Clough have all turned us down for various reasons. IF we were going to spend big, we should have done it on the summer as it's even harder to sign people now.
I would love to be wrong but I will be surprised if we are still in this division in May.
