promote no one & reprieve Farnborough. Nobody want's them back down here (even if they are more likely to go Southern).

Surely it would be Colwyn Bay reprieved anyway?...

Promoting Hendon looks like the simplest solution to me.

Nah we'll just end up with a a far away team transferred in to the Isthmian if that happens. We shipped off Lowestoft last season & Bury this season. We've only got Leiston left to get rid of. Don't put this on us Jemfy!

Be careful what you wish for. .. Could end up losing Bognor and Harrow to Southern, and gaining Cambridge City, Histon and even Kings Lynn as the Isthmian moves further and further eastwards.

''The verdict of today's FA Appeal panel hearing as been deferred until Monday, due to the complexity of the legal arguments associated with the case..
After a hearing lasting for 6 hours or so, the FA Appeal panel announced today that, due to the complexity of the legal and other arguments associated with the case, it needs time to reflect on its verdict. It will therefore reconvene on Monday and announce its decision then.''

The longer this drags on i feel less & less sympathy for Enfield ......its getting beyond a joke now

Surely the FA deserve just as much if not more flack for being so indecisive (and thus further delaying the play-offs), or do you consider Enfield mainly to blame for their indecision?

Joke. Enfield should never have been punished for a FA/Ryman/other club mistake.

There's two issues here.

The first is that Enfield played an ineligible player. Whether they were to blame or not is unclear, but certainly the authorities have to take some responsibility for their systems that allow the same player to have multiple records on the database. Why it dragged on and wasn't fast tracked when it should have been clear that there would be ramifications on the promotion picture is another baffling element. If they'd been charged and then found guilty with a 3 point deduction at the time of it coming to light, yes it would seem harsh, but it would, I think, have ended the matter there and then.

The bigger issue for me is the advice that Enfield were given by the FA themselves in how to address the problem once it was discovered. Telling them to sit out the player for the next two games as a way of redressing the balance was an incredulous response and one that has caused this complete shambles.

Appeal unsuccessful. The play-offs can now go ahead.

I wonder if many of the players at the clubs involved have gone on holiday?

They're going to play the semi-finals on Thursday and the final on Sunday. A bit short-notice, no?

Nope, they did say last week in a club statement last week that they would respect Monday's (lol) outcome.

Just a bit.

Dont you think it would be really ironic if the Old Bill actually got promoted.

They finished in sixth place on merit, just outside the play offs and got their place by default.

They surely dont really want to go up. They have no real support other than a handful of retired coppers, and struggle to get more than a hundred through the gate.

It would really show the whole situation up for what it is. IE a total farce of the FA's making.

There's heavy rain forecast over London for all of tomorrow.
It would be extremely ironic if the pitch at Earlsmead, which I don't think is one of the better pitches in the league, were to become waterlogged and the match had to be postponed.

Amazingly short-notice. No chance of getting out of work for the coach to Margate, and the last train back is 10pm so that might be out of the equation too.

Hendon v Met Police... isn't a big police training centre in Hendon? Seem to recall one from my days up there... surely they'll be expecting a "big police presence" in Hendon for the game.

Yes, the Met Police training centre complete with sports ground is in West Hendon, not far from the old lamented Claremont Road ground.
However, Hendon have been playing at Harrow Borough's ground which can be best described as in the middle of endless Metro-land suburban hell.

We played (not)Police in the LSC final at Harrow's ground a few years back. They didn't have much support there, but a police helicopter hovered over the ground for a while.

Rumours were circulating Rookery Hill towards the end of last season that Higgo was looking at a possible move to Maidstone.
Quite comical when we were over there for the final game, some of your fans were calling him a fat lump, and when one of our number pointed out that he could be signing for you they quickly shut up.
With that sort of scoring record I'm sure you weren't alone in chasing him.
He has already proved he can score at Conference level, having had spells with Chelmsford, Concord and Bromley. On each occasion though he has returned to us.
Nice bloke, and if it's true that he is coming to you, I'm sure all at Rookery Hill wish him well.
Would love to have kept him, and I'm sure the Manager tried, but money talks I suppose.
