Leafe seemingly in a battle for the last play off place with Worthing, the top four very cut adrift.
No matter what happens really it's been a good season back in the R1S, crowds getting much healthier and a nice beautiful pitch to play our sexy football on

Got a vital last minute winner to leapfrog Fingate in the table. That result leaves us level on points with the Plod (who admittedly have three games in hand) and just one point off ETU in the final play-off place.

Think this definitely calls for another of Paddy's multi-colour spectaculars

Them last minute equalisers. To be fair we seem to pass up on any 3G advantage by playing the majority of our football in the air, generous souls that we are.

Nice colour coding according to the kits as well.
Only 220 at Kingsmeadow on Saturday (I know that Finchley would have brought a dozen at the very most). Isn't that a bit worrying Paddy?

It's our lowest gate of the season I believe.* It's a rubbish figure and obviously concerning but not all that much of a surprise to me. We're averaging somewhere between 300-350 this season I think, which is about on a par with where we've been for a few seasons now. It's pretty shit, but our board don't seem to want to take up any initiatives to try to improve the situation so I can't envisage much changing on that front...

*think we've still got to host a couple of tinpotters (Witham and Peacehaven) so still time to beat this dubious record!

The board have done kids for free for the last 2 seasons & have done a couple of student based promotions in the past which is at least some forward thinking from the board but it really hasn't taken off to the point where attendances are boosted.

As i keep saying, we have one fundamental problem to drawing any new local support... the Womble factor. The only people who would rather go see us over them are already K's fans. I genuinely do believe that when they go away our attendances will gradually rise (on the idea that we are still at KM/in Kingston/exist). Obviously having a decent cup run will get our name back out there but we've been perennially shite in both FA competitions since our run to the FA Cup 4th Round in 2001.

We do love to ship a last gasp leveler. Two points dropped after looking comfortable 2 up against the ten men of Leiston. Big game Tuesday. Would expect our forum to go into meltdown unless we bag an away win at H&R.

Planned to watch Sutton v Bromley yesterday. When that was called off went to Dulwich v Met Police. Wish I hadn't bothered. Terrible 0-0 and Champion Hill is a terrible place to watch Football with a big crowd

The 8 was for the number of Met Police fans

Isn't the capacity of Champion Hill 3000? It didn't feel half full.

It was interesting to note that Harry Ottaway’s playing style hasn't changed

Champion Hill could really do with both ends being elevated and having some cover, must be nigh on impossible at the back of one end trying to get a good vantage point of the action on the pitch.

I haven't really been paying attention to the race for the play-offs but the Plod are in a good position as are Billericay when their quagmire of a pitch can sustain regular football again.

A lot of the new non-league stadia built in the late 80s and early 90s has pretty rubbish terracing, which gives a spectator of average height (such as me) a terrible view if there is a sizable crowd. The original terracing at Kingsmeadow was terrible as well. The side terrace there is still the same as it was when first built and everyone agrees that it's not a great place to be for an AFC Wimbledon match.

Nothing
On top of the ends, the terracing along the other side of the pitch could do with some concrete banks added too. Currently there is a bank of about 3/4 steps on each of the three sides, but each bank only really stretches a third of the side it sits. Even just expanding all of those banks on the three sides would make a big difference. Highly doubt anything will be done though given the new/rebuilt stadium redevelopment plans.

Blasphemy! The Kingston Road End was an amazing terrace for making a noise & having a mosh pit style bundle whenever a goal was scored!

Although yeah for actually viewing a game of football it could have done with the steps being deeper (like the opposite end) but as I'm over 6ft in height I never had an issue... those stood behind me probably did though lol!

My sole visit to Kingsmeadow was last season with the 'big blue monstrosity' closed so we watched the first half where away supporters are segregated for AFC Wimbledon games. I'm 5'11" (6" on a good day) and still struggled to see a large area of the pitch with the low roof and dugouts also blocking the view.

Moaning about the viewpoint of the pitch at certain grounds, this is the tinpot thread right?

The first time I went to Kingsmeadow back in 1991, I remember there being an electricity substation smack bang in the middle of the Kingston Road End behind the goal!

I've heard stories of that haha... One of the more obscure things you will find at a football ground!

& Aber, I'm guessing you are referring to the touchline opposite the main stand... that side is pretty shit. No one ever used to stand there until we lost the KRE, it was merely used as a walkway from the KRE to the Athletics End (or the other way round) at half time for those not wanting a half time pint :)

Wow we've actually been playing really well recently. Our record is 5-1-2 this year. Too late for a play-off push but good to see anyhow.

I was there tonight. There's a video of the incident on youtube now. Not sure I've seen anything like that happen before. Something pretty nasty must have been said to cause that.
