He's been playing in every game since, I think the FA will probably ban him for a couple of months soon though so that's our season over.

I haven't been for a month or so (am going this Saturday though), but a work colleague who's started going to games went to the Hornchurch game and said while it was fairly even-ish by h/t, after the break we were god-awful and didn't turn up.

I've long thought we're treading water when playing one striker as none of the many lone strikers that have played this season have done much even in a supporting role; looking back Hamici as probably the best of the bunch and at least hustled the defenders in a thankless role.

We're also usually poor without Carew who links it all up in the middle and without him we're like a series of wingers passing it about but without much invention or taking charge and directing play. Also looks like Forbes has been in and out of the line-up and he tends to direct and hold the defence together too. Not sure if that's form and/or injuries.

Home to East Thurrock on Saturday... crucial game.

Hmm, doesn't sound good. At least you didn't lose against ETU. I don't think there's any realistic chance of you not making the play-offs now tbh - you have enough of an advantage over an inconsistent chasing pack - but it's not the sort of form you want to take into them.

Surely if they're being consistent* they should simply offer the Ks some "advice" as they did with Boreham Wood post Duku incident?

Recieved our usual warm welcome from everyone at Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday. .. Always a great afternoon there, win or loose, just a pity getting there by road is such torture. .. Assuming we're both in the same division next season most of us will be letting the train take the strain methinks.
Strange game, with two dubious penalties and a bizzarre own goal for Hamlet, while our, (albeit deserved) equaliser would probably have been saved had the Hamlet keeper not been injured.
Ref has probably had better games !!!!
Wishing the keeper a speedy recovery from his broken nose, and the Hamlet a good finish to the season, although being selfish, I hope you don't go up so we can meet again.
We're hanging on to our "Top Essex Club in the Ryman" tag, but it could be a close run thing with both Grays and BillyRicky on good runs.

Sean Cronin has gone out on loan to Grays until the end of the season. Was in the Ryman Premier team of the year in the past couple of seasons and if he can regain his confidence he'll be a real asset for Grays. Just not been anywhere near good enough to start for us in the Conference South.

I went to Lewes vs Enfield last night, it finished 2-1. Wasn't a bad game but neither a spectacular one. Good to see ex-Woking Conference South Champion 2011-12 Tom Davis on the winning side. The Enfield 'Ultras' sang throughout and the Lewes lot chipped in too to make a good atmosphere. Kingfield aside, The Dripping Pan is my favourite non-league ground. Love it there.

I love the Dripping Pan but haven't been there for quite a few years now. When they built the new stand behind the goal it reminded me of the rather unlovely West Croydon bus station.

Do the Rooks fans still all stay behind the same goal for the entire match? I have to say I don't really like that. I always think there's an unwritten rule that say your supporters should mass behind the goal you're attacking. Tunbridge Wells are the same. Staying at one end can lead to unnecessary bad feeling and even confrontation.

Yes they remained watching from the terrace behind the goal. In fairness, it is a great view from there but my preference is to always watch from behind the goal we're attacking. The Enfield fans changed ends at half-time.

That terrace looks big enough to accommodate Lewes' current home support and any away support that you'd get at Isthmian Premier Level though.
I should get down to the Dripping Pan some day as the stadium, Lewes as a town and the surrounding countryside are lovely places to visit.

There was just under 400 there on Tuesday so you're kind of right but others either sat in the stand down the side, stood above the bank of grass on the other side or stood behind the goal up the other end (now I think of it there were some Lewes fans behind the goal they were attacking in the first half). The 50 or so Enfield fans had no problem standing on the 'home' terrace, even with their giant flag taking up a large section of it.

Doesn't the far end at the Wells fall away massively? Have some vague recollection of stumbling down a hill during our Kent league days.

Comfortable 2-0 win yesterday at Bury Town that relegates them and makes things interesting for us.
I say interesting but our games coming up are:
Maidstone x2
Wingate & Finchley
East Higgins Utd
Hendon
Kingstonian

Having said that, if we can win against ÉTU and Wingate then it could make it interesting for other teams even if it might not be enough for ourselves!

The league table still looks quite extraordinary. We had a fairly comfortable sounding 3-0 win over Peacehaven yesterday and play Billericay on Monday. Should we win that we'd be in real play-off contention. And for the first time I'm inclined to believe there are two spots up for grabs, rather than just the one.

Poor old Bury, they've been a fairly solid outfit since joining this league. Not any more it would seem.

Five wins in a row now for Leafe, looking like we should be making that final play off spot. Another fantastic season for us.
Horsham look doomed after our victory there, very decent sized club to go into the oblivion of the counties leagues.

Could be as many as 4 players in the Grays starting XI tomorrow night who played for us last season (Mark Bentley, Glen Little, Jey Siva and Sean Cronin).

Absolutely no doubt in my mind that Gary McCann is manager of the year, little to no budget to work with and he continues to work wonders with such a small first team squad.

Well that's where I'm planning to go later!
SS's "hill" is the North Downs between Maidstone and Chatham... which is where the 'Chins seem intent on plying their trade next season (i.e. trading one delightful NW Kent town for another!).

Just had a glance at the North and South tables for the first time. I know they've already been mentioned in this thread but that's a very impressive points tally for Burgess Hill. Are they monied or simply having a very good season? Needham Market and Harlow look to have done similarly well in the North. Interesting to note the fate of Cray Wanderers, on the other hand, who look like they're about to suffer a second successive relegation. Ouch.
