Frequently posting articles that criticise him suggests you do care, at least a little. Which is natural, they're your rivals. I know you're just having fun mate, as am I calling you sensitive and old. Not so much defending him (though I am to a certain extent) as finding the coverage of him this season, and everyone lapping it up, funny. Losing the plot over the Shaw thing is funny given he's received the same treatment from previous managers without any fuss being made. But as I said, laying in to Mourinho sells at the moment.

Yes, we all know he's a miserable c*** nowadays and has taken the him vs the world thing to ridiculous levels but he's right with Shaw who, by the way, he's been very complimentary of in the past, including this season. He's lazy, unprofessional and overweight. A waster. He deserves to be criticised. And it's not like Jose was making excuses for a defeat, they won the game. I just find the constant criticism of everything he does this season, and the public lapping it up, amusing. Certain outlets calling him a bully is ridiculous. I don't mind the Shaw thing so much. He's clearly got a shite attitude and he doesn't have the ability, or hasn't pushed on enough, to warrant that. I'm looking forward to us replacing him. Rose would be a welcome upgrade.

My problems with Jose are the style of football we are playing and the constant moaning and negativity. I can take one or the other along assuming we are in a decent position (which we are, second in the league and in a cup semi-final) but not both. I know that the latter, the moaning, is egged on by the media and rival fans seem to love it but someone like Fergie and even Mourinho in the past used the media to their own advantage and cleverly - Mourinho, at the minute, isn't doing that.

We've started putting buy back clauses in deals in which we've sold young players (Depay, Januzaj) so I hope we'd do the same with Martial should he leave. An effective 2-3 year loan deal where he can get consistent game time at a good level. Because I think he'll go on be a better player than Sanchez.

I can't be bothered checking out if he was actually the manager of Chelsea when Salah made his Roma loan permanent, but his comments around that time would suggest so.

Surprised Conte didn't try to convince Salah to turn Roma down, you'd think he'd have known how good he was considering he was playing in Italy.

Chelsea seem a bit poorly run when it comes to young players. The amount of players out on loan is insane, I suppose it's only natural a few slip through the net.

It was bad enough Pogba leaving and knowing he was getting raved about every week when he was at Juve. I can't imagine what it's like for Chelsea fans watching two of their ex players turn into the PL's top two players at City and Liverpool.

I'm not sure he'd have had very much control over the deal. I imagine an agreement might have been in place prior to his arrival.

Pretty much agree though. I think young players pose a challenge for top English clubs in general. When the competition is so intense and the stakes so high, it becomes increasingly difficult to integrate young players into a side. I think Chelsea have made a particular rod for their own back here because of the quick turnover of managers at Stamford Bridge. It's difficult to play a kid over an established player when your job might be on the line, and you can understand the reticence of risk-averse managers like Mourinho and Conte in that regard.

That said, it's hugely frustrating that we let slip players who are now worth £££££ and would improve the current first team, let alone the squad, immeasurably. Chelsea have always been quite good at letting players go when they want out and the likes of De Bruyne and Lukaku were quite vocal about their lack of playing time. That we let them leave, though laudable, is pretty maddening though as I can't help but think we could have accommodated them more readily given how highly rated they were. I'm actually probably slightly more forgiving of the Salah transfer as he was afforded a few more first team opportunities (though, still really not very many) and I think his progression has perhaps been the most surprising.

Frankly, I've no idea when it comes to the vast and slightly bewildering loan army! I guess a lot of these guys are being developed to be sold on so it's probably a nice way to boost revenue but it's still a bit of a peculiar operation in some ways (not sure why we've got so many loanees when our first team squad seems short of numbers, not sure why some of these guys are approaching their mid-20s and still on our books, given they're never going to play a first XI game).

Clearly there are some positive things - our scouting network has identified very good youngsters and our academy is also extremely good, as evidenced by the success enjoyed by our youth sides. It's natural that some won't become top level players, and conversely, that some top level players will slip through the net. But I do think that more thought needs to go into how we utilise and develop the kids. To be honest, I suspect these issues are probably somewhat symptomatic of a lack of vision and strategic direction at the club.

So. Despite spending shit loads, Mourinho and United win fuck all this season whilst, in the process, spending 95% of it play shite, boring football only a masochist would want to watch.

Very happy with that season tbh. Best football we've played since Ferguson (not a high bar, I know), a cup final, and 81 points which would be challenging for the title in the majority of Prem seasons.

I wouldn't say so.

Winning fuck all and finishing second is objectively better than finishing fourth and winning fuck all, unless the difference in quality and expectations between the two clubs in question is chasmlike which I don't think it is. Making it to a final means nothing in and of itself.

Of course, you'll have blown us out of the water if you win the Champions League but I won't entertain that possibility.
