Klopp has absolutely failed at improving Liverpool
Fixed. If anything, they've got worse since the gurning German arrived. But at least he makes us all laugh with his silly faces and passion.

C'mon. I know perfomances haven't been great lately, but comparing this Liverpool with Rodgers 'team' in his last season is harsh to say the least.
I really don't get the big fuss about all of this. Yes, the start wasn't great, but I couldn't care less. Chelsea was pretty shit a year ago, too. Some fans don't seem to be able to see the bigger picture. Klopp isn't flawless, of course. And you don't have to agree with everything he does, but I think he's done a pretty damn good job in his two years in charge and certainly improved Liverpool.

I like Klopp but he's getting one helluva free ride compared to past managers.

Questions are getting asked, but he's in it for the long haul so you've got to take the rough with the smooth too if that's the case and give him a chance to fix the issues.

Do you think he is capable of addressing the defensive issues or willing to alter his philosophy in order to shore things up?

I don't think enough work has been done on properly sorting it out as we are seeing mate. I think buying a couple of quality centre backs at the minimum will help things. Maybe another fullback is needed also especially if Gomez eventually does go central. Unsure what's going to happen with the keeper situation too tbh. Mignolet has been fine for 18 months (though obviously like the rest of the side at the weekend had a mare ) but he doesn't really fit our style and is probably not good enough to be a title winning keeper anyway. Ward looks to be the best shotstopper though again doesn't fit the system. Karius does but hasn't proven himself adequately as a shotstopper yet, so he may also go in for someone else anyway.

I think the way the window went it looked like he wanted extra options up front and in midfield and that was done to an extent. However I do think that going forward we'll get a new out and out striker (Timo Werner maybe?) As Sturridge and possibly Ings / Origi will leave; and get a couple of midfielders in to complement the Keita signing especially since Coutinho and Can will be off next season. Defense though is the priority. I think most Liverpool fans would take a bit of stability there even if it meant we would be a bit duller going forward; we can see how it works with Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs where you guys have a base at the back, and until that gets totally rectified,we won't be winning things no matter how good we could potentially be in midfield and upfront.

As for the present until defenders can come in, maybe a change back to 4-2-3-1 might help solidify it up, they've got to try something.

This is absolutely true. When those Rodgers record vs Klopp's record stats first started coming out it was way too early to judge his impact given that Rodgers left them in a pretty average state. What's the excuse now tho? He's had a season and a half and they're still bobbins.

How can you say they are bobbins? That's just utter nonesense. 4th place last year with a much weaker team than this years.
Doesn't sound like a bad team to me. Every team hits a bad run of form at some point in the season, and if it's right at the start, so be it. Also, you have to see improvements in comparison to Rodgers reign. Lfc went from Balotelli and Benteke to Salah and Mané. And yes, the defence remains a problem, but what can you expect? Klopp tried to buy van Dijk, it's not like he doesn't notice our shortcomings.

I can expect Liverpool to have improved under Klopp, and I even thought they had, but the stats hardly show it, do they? Liverpool have already lost 5-0 and 4-1 this season and dropped points against Burnley, Watford and Newcastle, it's just not where I'd have thought they would be with this long under the manager.

Defending is part of the game, you can't win anything without being able to do it with at least some competency. Well done on Klopp and Liverpool for "trying" to sign Van Dijk, where was plan B? He's had nearly two years. Why can expensive signings like Sakho and Lovren not be coached to do a passable job?

He's left, he went in the huff the other day after the benzo spat.

A nasty gossiper was spreading a rumour earlier that "Benzogate" was nothing but a smokescreen for the real reason Pagnell departed...the continuing misfortunes of Liverpool football club.

I have no comment to make on the matter.

I think Klopp has done well. No more, no less. Rodgers stats are skewed by that ridiculous run of form where Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling were unplayable for half a season. The following season it was shown to be more of a flashpoint than the norm.

Klopp has got Liverpool to 2 finals (ultimately falling short in both) and has for the most part installed a feel good factor around the football they play. To finish pretty comfortably 4th last year was a good showing. This year they’ve had no Mane (which is a huge blow), whilst Clyne being out is also a big loss for that defence. Ultimately they have shortfalls which they will have to address in time or else the manager will pay the price.

Clyne isnt that big a miss though. They conceded shitloads with him in the side too. He might be better than other options but he's not going to be a difference maker.

Apparently we have more points compared to the corresponding fixtures from last season. We should beat Huddersfield comfortably.

This may very well be the first "apparently"-post by G-dragon that holds any truth.

If he actually starts playing Robertson and the Ox finds some form, we'll overtake City by Christmas.

You can take that to the bank.
