10 changes for us, just Hewitt started Saturday who starts tonight. All 7 Saturdays subs start, one youth player, plus Rose returning from injury and new signing Robson.

Bench has 2 starters from Saturday and rest youth players.

Although it would be nice to beat Scunny especially with 10 changes, couldn't really care less if we lose or not, sooner we are out of it the better.

We've started with a few first teamers as those guys don't have fit backups at the moment and then the rest of the team is bench players. We're playing James Perch at LB though which won't end well.

Would have thought it might be a good idea give Cullen some playing time tonight. Other than that just hope the likes of Amoo and Monty don’t pick up any knocks.

Dire game, dominated, then a hilarious OG hitting Kennedy after shrews hit the bar and then it’s kind of stooped into walking pace.

Zzzzzzz

3 subs at half time Green, Pickering and Wintle coming on. I will be fuming if one of them gets injured now. No idea why Artell is bothered about losing.

Absolutely ludicrous decision from Artell to make 3 half time subs. Confidence destroying for the lads that come off and a risk for the 3 that have come on. Will come back to bite us.

1008 at VP tonight with away following of 146.

Jordan Archer with a debut goal to put us 2-1 up after joining last week. Suppose that’s something to take from this.

Decent once he came on it changed the game.
Archer looked very good, pacey and physical... something we’ve lacked a bit going forwards.

Take the 10 grand and got some game time into a few players.

Our reserves turn over the Mudrats 2-zip. Should be curtains for Bond, which is a shame. Extremely disappointing crowd in excess of 1,500 (308 away).

Should've beaten Southend by more goals, they were woeful and Kevin Bond won't last there much longer, they showed all the signs of a team going down and also had a man cheaply sent off for raising his hands to the face of an opponent. Matt Harrold and James Alabi bullied them all game and both should've scored as well.

We ended the game with a very young side and nearly let it slip. Deserved win to help build some confidence.

783 I think. Let's face it, apart from a few disgraces the crowds are appalling and the league and sponsors should be embarrassed.
But they won't be.
9 changes and doesn't sound like we had any injuries. Result.

Sounds dreadful, bit concerning that our fringe players are nowhere near the standard of the 1st XI.
Remember they were playing a mostly unchanged strong L1 team. Hard to play well when most of them haven't played together, especially the midfield. 8 changes from the manager says to you as a player 'he doesn't give a shit' and can you blame them for playing poorly?

One of the consequences of having such a settled in form starting XI is that the bench players don't get used much. Ainley and Jones have been cameo players at best. Adebisi is a work in progress. Hunt didn't do much wrong for the goals, they came down the left side, which is Nolan and Adebisi's spot.

Jones though, good grief. His injuries in 17-18 have wrecked him. He was dross for the most part last season and now any time he plays, he looks slow and clueless. What was that mistake for the first yesterday? He was terrible on the opening day as well. Really sad to see.

Not at all bothered about the display or result, aside from the fact we best pray for no injuries to our main midfield trio. Good to get Jaaskelainen, Lancashire, Powell and Porter some rest. Also, Green, Wintle and Pickering only played 45, which is also good.

Seems like a lot more teams are giving this competition the finger this season. Exeter 9 changes, 8 for Grimsby, 10 for Orient. That's to name but a few. Just a shame the crowds continue to hover around the high three digit mark. Had hoped for a greater loss of interest across the board.

Our 1008 was unusually high, especially considering we were at home at the weekend and play Shrewsbury in this every year!

Expected the standard 7-800 they even had a half decent following.
