Good win that and the score probably flatters Macc as we were far superior in the second half.

Positive that we got some minutes into Manny and Archer and didn’t require bringing on the better players of the bench.

Our second string has been slated as not good enough but tonight they looked far ahead of another L2 sides second XI so that’s good.

Nice to see Taylor and Burgess open their accounts for the club (and professionally I think)

Should be through now and another £10k in the bank.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I notice a sudden shift that this season many managers are playing mostly reserve/youth teams.

Wonder when premiership will complain teams are now playing reserves vs their reserves

Most teams have done that even during the days of the LDV Vans Trophy haven't they? They tightened the rules to limit it but have relaxed them again.

I think Crawley are now out of this. Even if we win v Oxford I don't think we can qualify.

1-2 loss to Norwich on Tuesday with 361 people in attendance. Notable for us as we gave debuts to Denzeil Bouda (who was subbed of due injury) and Giovanni Van Yelsin. Both looked way short of match fitness so that would have helped them. Those two were the reason I went to the game. Just to see what they were like. Van Yelsin almost scored with his first touch (cleared off the line after the keeper dropped it.

Also notable for how poor some of our players were in the game. Young and Payne constantly giving the ball away, nobody talking to each other and our main tactic seemed to be to give the ball to the Norwich keeper.

Atrocious weather, wind and rain most of the game. Poor football. Almost enough to wish I'd stayed in and watched the champions League....almost.

More of this fun tonight. We play Mansfield away. I'd expect us to make atleast 7 or 8 changes.

I literally don't know a single a Crewe fan going, whereas Carlisle on Saturday I could probably name close to a 100.

8 changes for us

Richards
Adebisi Nolan Ng Johnson
Green Wintle Finney
Ainley Anene Dale

Despite the amount of changes still looks a pretty decent team to be fair. Interested to see hear how the two youngsters get on at full back. But fingers crossed for no injuries especially the two centre backs and Wintle who are key players.

Ten changes for us! Not surprisingly as they were knackered on Saturday

We had pre sold 15 tickets for tonight, and our official supports coach had to be down graded to a mini bus :fl:

Cruising through to the next round without even playing! In fairness I appreciate the cash for winning games, sadly didn’t see much or any last season but this season we’ve already spent the 20k from the first two games on the squad!

We lost. :woo:

700-odd there apparently, weirdos. 7th of 8 games in this era of B team farce we've gone below what had been our lowest ever crowd before those changes. Sadly the Arsenal one will be higher and we will probably take a ghastly amount of fans to Peterborough.

Probably the worst performance I’ve ever seen by us this evening. It was shockingly inept. The only positive is that we are now out.

Apparently we lost to Crewe on penalties, excellent.

Delighted with that result. It means we’re out

Mansfield have now lost 425 consecutive penalty shootouts

Made 9 changes, still caused Wimbledon problems but we was ultimately toothless in front of goal. Missed 2 sitters and a penalty.

They rode their luck a bit, before finishing us off and taking the chances they made.

Can't say I was too bothered in the end. We fielded a very young side and the more experienced team had more nous.

Fraid not. You beat Burton over 90 minutes and you're through, regardless of what happens between us and Everton. Not sure what happens if you beat them via a shootout and Everton beat us.

Good news for us we didn't lose in 90 minutes, won via the shootout and will probably still not progress. Excellent, take the prize money and still go out.

900 and something at Prenton Park last night to see our friendly against Aston Villa's kids. I'm embarrassed it was that high to be honest.

They played there a couple of seasons ago, so that doesn't really fly.

We had 1020 last night, with 75 West ham fans. Clearly a few idiots who thought they'd be seeing Bobby Moore and Trevor Brooking turned up...

Guessing Coventry sold out the league game pretty quickly last time, so even some hardcore fans probably missed out, so it will still be a new ground for alot of them.

Glad we are out. Not glad we have now lost 3 games in a row. Need to get back at it on Saturday.

Hate the competition but glad that some of the fringe players took their chances. Hoping that the momentum can be transferred to Saturday where the game actually matters.

At least we're out of this shit now. (I think)
