Just ran through the results in the league since the bad run started. We've scored 17 and conceded 20. Out of 17 goals scored we've managed 5 points compared to the 20 earned by opposing teams.

Out of the 17 goals we've scored in single games: 6, 3, 3, 2 and out of those we won once and lost 3. It's unacceptable to have to be needing to score 4 goals turn losses into draws, and 5 goals to win games. Nevermind the 3 goals where we scored 1. Imagine a world where you could score 1 goal and win a game? Seems like fantasy land for us at the moment.

The stars aligned at Bolton, the following 3 games have proven that we cannot keep clean sheets, and really speaking, we struggle to limit the opposition to 1 goal more often than not.

I hate the cliche of managers losing the dressing room but i do think that the buck stops with askey on this one. if your CBs/Full backs aren't doing what you ask them to, drop them. if you run out of players on the bench then change your formation. If things aren't going well on the pitch, use your sub bench. If he hasn't got some loanees lined up then I can't really defend him.

The problems are glaringly obvious, he managed to sort the goalscoring issues out but at a great cost defensively. it's down to askey to find a medium.
Well according to the rumour mill on OVF things such as Smudge and Clark causing issues, Frank Sinclair trying to take over the world etc

I shat myself when he went in like that again this Saturday! I thought not again, it’s about the only parallel with that game that didn’t happen when he only got a yellow!

Even Manchester City with the billions they have chucked around are inconsistent so its excuseable for clubs at this level.

Of course, now that said I'm not sure the word inconsistent applies for us. In fact the problem is its all too consistent and predictable.

Not buying some of these behind the scenes stories, these things always seem to come out whatever the club when hitting a bad run of form. I do think it was a mistake to bring in McKirdy, didn't like it at the time and nothing have seen even in his contributions on the pitch have convinced me otherwise.

One of the most illuminating moments on Saturday was when Radio Stoke cut away to BoJo the clown and the iFollow stream was just without commentary but could hear everything on the pitch. Walsall were constantly talking both players and managerial staff. Vale by contrast there was nothing from either, doesn't appear to be any leaders in there or at least anyone prepared to be the bad cop in that dressing room and that is needed right now.

Top comeback, I can see why you’re such a popular poster on here.
Talking about top comebacks, that's a great new avatar. Pretty sure my mum threw away my 95 to 97 Lotto home shirt, but she's never admitted to it.

This is the mysterious part, why are they not barking and talking? It’s not an inexperienced side, Saturday you have Legge (he does roar as he heads a ball at least ) Pope, Joyce even Smith has played enough now to be classed as experienced!

A lot of bullshit when we play each other but never rivals

Genuine question. Do Man Utd really consider Bolton as rivals? The other teams I get but I would have thought Utd's main rivals would be Liverpool, City and Leeds rather then Bolton?

Every team needs its shouters and angry types. John Askey always did well with Macclesfield Town because there wasn't any real expectation of success. He built a new team every season and when it worked it worked well. Having to be successful is a different thing than hoping to be.

Manchester United probably don't take notice of Bolton Wanderers.

United fans dont see Bolton as a true rival other than being a local rival.
Uniteds main two rivals are Liverpool & Leeds followed by City.
Bolton have local rivals, preston, wigan, blacburn, bury , rochdale, oldham.
There is definately something there with Tranmere too.
Ive watched oldham since 1976 and our rivals have changed over the years. We were rivals with Hudds, leeds, preston, bolton, wigan, stockport, tranmere etc as well as City too.....
Our closest rivals would be, city, utd, stockport, dale, bury & stockport.
There are only a handful of clubs who have a true one club rival, i dont see bolton in that list, they are like us were rivals change dependant on the times.

Oldham aren't a rival of Tranmere but our paths have crossed plenty of times to make you a fixture of real interest. A bloke i knew from years ago who stood and sat by me went to his first game at Tranmere aged 7 on Boxing Day 1934. 13-4 v Oldham Athletic. He said he spent the rest of his life having to know he would never see another game like the first one he saw but still went for the best part of 76 years. In truth our main rivals were Chester, Wrexham and Stockport County. Apart from a brief spell outside the league we havent played any of them much for a long time. The Bolton thing is complicated and goes back to 1982-83 in the FA Cup.

In my lifetime we only started playing tranmere after our fall from gracein the mid 90s. Although i seem to remember you beating us at yours on a cold winters night in the fa cup 3rd round when we were in the premier league.
There has been some needle between the two sets of fans since i feel. Fond memories and some good away days at yours tho

Any bother is the usual idiots who cause trouble anywhere at any time. Oldham can be a right nuisance team to us normally. There is no real animosity. Bury were a proper jinx club for us. We once went 26 home league games unbeaten with 22 wins sandwiched by 3-1 and 4-2 defeats by them with the inevitable Craig Madden hat trick in both. I genuinely have no problem with 22 clubs in this division. We give FGR stick but there is no problem with them. That is mostly aimed at Dale Vince. Half of their fans aren't fond of him.

Well Utd and Bradford are the 2 biggest clubs in the country based on travelling numbers (according to that Bradford fan that used to post on here anyway, think his name was FILTHY or something?). So would seem about right that they are historic rivals.

They consider Bolton ‘rivals’ in the same sense that West Ham consider Orient ‘rivals’ or Stoke see iccle Vale as ‘rivals’.

Nothing changed....your teams tin pot, shite and for some reason you muppets have tried to have Bolton as your rivals.......you dont mean nothing to us, your not local. We hardly ever played you because you have always been in the lower leagues...your irrelevant

You have only started playing on a Saturday in the last ten years because if you played on a Saturday all your loyal fans would go watching Liverpool or Everton
If we mean nothing to you why was your fan forum full of your foul mouthed knuckle draggers saying how much they hate us and how much they are looking forward to beating us last Saturday. Didn`t happen did it. Enjoy Dover, Borehamwood and Maidenhead on a Tuesday night.

Into my 6th decade watching Tranmere and in all that time I’ve never seen more angrier fans than Bolton’s where ever we’ve played them.
Judging the Bolton Wanderers fans forums I would say that they have more of a rivalry with us than we do with them.

Liverpool and Everton must be our big rivals because you can see their grounds from the back rows of our kop stand. Bolton fans can't even see Horwich from their houses.

The answer to that question is no. Other than this.
After the Munich air disaster in 1958 United met Bolton in the FA cup final which Bolton won. Some sections of the media accused Bolton of being ungentlemanly in not letting United win the game due to the recent tragedy. For a generation or 2 after the event there was a lot of bad feeling between the clubs.
