He wouldn’t come back. At least, not until there was a change of ownership with the intention of making a go of the club instead of fleecing it for years.

But from a personal POV, yes.
Think you and Wellans would be a good match both needing to re build

The club is in total meltdown, from top to bottom. You obviously know what that’s like. If we’re docked points for next season who is likely to want to join a club whose only target is not losing their league status.

It’s all well and good me moaning about it, but too many clubs now have fallen foul of inept or downright corrupt ownership - and, no doubt, there are more than a few at the moment that are their way to a shitstorm.

Everything is fine and dandy with owners until it starts to unravel then watch out for falling skeletons. I hope we don’t go down the foreign ownership route but we’ll have no say.

The problem with us we had a fan as a owner whose heart ruled his head.....then he sold the club to Someone who thought we was a cash cow.
No interest in running it

Looks like the club are going to announce today that the Cowleys have won a permanent contract, despite the play-offs now looking unlikely. A good decision imho.

Four wins, followed by just one point from next four games doesn't really tell the whole story. They've not really had any flexibility to shake up the team due to lack of player options in key positions. Marquis has missed key chances and his confidence appears shot, but he's the only show in town. Charlie Daniels has been pretty disastrous at left back and given away goals. The loss of Michael Jacobs for the season has had a big impact as we're twice the team when he plays.

The good thing is that they can start planning properly for next season now. Big decisions need to be made on player contracts and new arrivals.

Are we the only club not to have had a player suspended for a culmination of yellow cards this season?

He has bags and bags of potential, and has scored some good goals around Xmas, but his form dipped (unsurprisingly) following his much publicised move to City in January which would have been a fantastic move financially for the lad, and obviously a good financial boost for us. Seem to recall a fee of around £500k being banded about plus add ons etc.

The move fell apart due to either him failing a medical at City, or due to the move being announced by our Manager and CEO against City's wishes, resulting in them calling it all off. Depends which story you believe.

The new fee of £125k is an absolute insult to us, but we are skint, and have not done a Bolton by spending way above our means in order to get success, so I can understand it especially as he is out of contract in Summer and our CEO has all the negotiating skills of a dead rat. We have gone all season without a left back, whilst Bottomley has amassed a backroom staff of admin staff to put 1970's British Rail to shame. Pathetic misuse of resources.

As you can imagine; we at Dale are feeling somewhat depressed at the moment, due to the high number of winning positions that we have been in, only to concede a last gasp goal. I think it's around 8 or 9 points lost in injury time alone, which kind of hurts and will likely see us down.

Obviously wish Baah all the best in his career...but reckon it's a gamble signing him.

I enjoy every 12 months as I have zero expectation but then I don’t support a team that spends money it doesn’t have or expect to be in a division it can’t afford to be in.
Who spent the money??
who was the lender and who was the Borrower?

No you support a team that burnt its own stadium down........forcing your team to go into Administration

I’m well aware of my own team’s history unlike yourself, the stadium wasn’t burnt down, it was a failed attempt by our crook of an owner who went to prison for it. If you actually look at that season you will see the protests by the fans, there is far far more to that story but you obviously don’t have a clue.

Your current owners are the lenders and the Bolton Wanderers fc have been borrowed against given they put it out in the media the day they took over.

Yes a loan that your new owners took out against the club which had to be paid back in 3 years, their words not mine, you’ve got a year left and had zero income for over 12 months.

The so called loan was to purchase the club in cash as despite our owners being relatively wealthy dont have 30m in there post office savings account
Ohh and by the way we have had income coming in these last 12 months....Granted on a much smaller scale

I see Masi is spreading his joy in this part of the forum now. Yay.

In actually positive news:

I can't wait until our trip to the New Meadow next season when, hopefully, arguably Cheltenham's two biggest legends will face off on the touchline.

I think i am going to enjoy div 1 next season with people like you who hold grudges for 3 years or more
Says someone who still holds a grudge about Dave Challinor’s long throws and Aldridge being nasty to Fat Sam from decades ago!
