I'm with stevowanderer on this as well - Cooper will be a hell of a miss for Plymouth. After seeing Trafford for Bolton in October I thought I'd seen the best keeper in the league, but then we played Plymouth on Boxing Day and he was even better.

There's no doubt that he has single-handedly won Plymouth games this season that would otherwise have been draws or even defeats. I just hope, for his sake, that he comes back from the injury as good as he was before.

I am another in the cooper camp. Trafford will have the better career but he is not quite there yet

I'm not sure Trafford will have the better career, can you see him making the grade at City? I don't so he will drop down a league or two to carve out a place to develop.

I feel terrible for Cooper, the numbers he’s put up is insane - 62 saves from within the area, not including the 13 within the six yard box, to only 30 goals conceded. I’d be incredibly surprised if they’re not historic numbers at this level (perhaps even higher levels) - it shows that Plymouth have struggled to restrict sides to creating chances within their area, but they had an incredible get out of jail free card.

No idea what their back up is like, but this has to be a hammer blow to their promotion chances.

He signed a six year contract last summer and is the current England u21 goalkeeper so City obviously rate him.
Evatt said we are looking for a keeper for next season so i think he has had word whatever league we are in Trafford wont be returning.
Rangers are keen on so i can see him ending up there or even City bench next season

I think because of the city pedigree it gives him a better chance… not because he’s necessarily the better gk but just because of the way football works. He’s also 2/3 years younger than Cooper and now we don’t know if Cooper will come back the same. Both good young goalkeepers though so it’s the toss of a coin.

I don’t think he’ll make the grade at City because he’s not going to get ahead of Ederson who is still 29 and has at least 5/6 years left, if not more. Although he may end up playing for city if they get relegated for FFP! Haha.

Yeah exactly. Those numbers are ridiculous at any level. That’s why I always thought that Plymouth would fade because surely keeping up those numbers would be impossible even with Cooper still fit.

It's not the way I'd prefer to gain traction on promotion rivals, but it may just bring us back into it.

In other news, we've sold out our extended allocation for MK Dons again, 6558.

Plymouth GK Cooper out for the season… wow. That could seriously derail Plymouth. Best gk in the league and his stats are ridiculous this season. Wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully he comes back the same as before. Cracking gk.
Only just seen this. Good news.

I think this shows we are probably a better team than some give us credit for…. But we just need to do it over a 46 game season not a calendar year. Wednesday will win the league this year IMO. If I was a betting man I’d be putting money on Derby now for 2nd I think. But still a long way to go.

Edit- although should add that is only if they can keep McGoldrick fit. He really is the difference for them.

I was liking that league table, as it showed a couple of teams below us, until I realised that we currently have less points from far more games than Gillingham and Donny Rovers and both of them were relegated.

We know you're a decent side but some of us don't think you're at a level that Masi claims

If you look back to my thoughts around August i have said we have maybe the best squad in the league but i said the two automatic promotion places would go to Shef Wed and Ipswich.
Going into last few months i hope Plymouth split those two but losing Cooper may well see then falter and now i can see Derby being those two main Danger.

We are a progressive club and we still have improvement. Not sure i see many in league 1 who can kick on

Sheff Wed, Ipswich and perhaps Derby if there finances are not as bad as painted.

Sorry but i cannot see any other club ready to progress

Rightly or wrongly, there are no financial issues with ourselves as we've started again debt free after administration. We're under a business plan, so promotion this year would make life difficult next year (no doubt).

Clowes doesn't have the money Mel did, of course, but after the ramifications of what happened that's probably not a bad thing either.

We've probably got enough to be a steady Championship club, but don't think we're likely to be in a position to challenging for the Premier League any time soon.

The Rumbelows Cup was relevant then.

But probably 93 in honest terms, nearly 2 decades after Derby were last relevant.

Lincoln had us. We were lucky to get a point . They seem to like playing us . lol

The autos are gone for us now . Think Warnie knows it too. Plays offs , and even that is not a certainty. The Wendies and Plymouth look too good now.
