Any odds yet on his replacement?
I was thinking the Cowleys might be next up there, although that would be more if Evans was still in charge. Sounds like the new owners have already decided on Paul Cook though.

Bit of a weird one - unless he really turns them round, they may well be down here next year and swapping places with Donny. That said, Donny had been in poor form so maybe he jumped at the chance while he could. Or maybe the form dropped off because he took his eye off the ball while lining up his move to the Wendies? Certainly happened to us when the Cowleys left last year.

It would appear our downturn in form has coincided with the approach from the Owls, to say the board are livid with him is an understatement. The statement they have put out underlines their feelings and that they blame him for the slump inform as it seems he was too distracted with the approach to put the effort in and obviously the players knew so appeared to stop playing for him, given that quite a few only came because of Darren I would expect they feel let down and even betrayed.
Well Andy Butler has been put in charge until the end of the season, it could be a master stroke or go tits up but certainly couldn’t be worse than what we’ve witnessed in February.

May have had some bearing but to be fair, you went from playing a run of Wimbledon, Swindon and Rochdale to Sunderland, Accrington and Hull. The kind of form you were showing was never likely to continue.

Admittedly performances may have dropped, you'll know better than me, and that might have been noticeable but the downturn in form wasn't all that surprising?

It’s not the losing of games it’s more the manner, we never turned up at Sunderland yet still could have got something if we had put the penalties away, we never looked like scoring against Accrington and the Ipswich game looked as though the players were not bothered which in light of what has happened today seems plausible. In the last month tactics, substitutions and lineups have been baffling to say the least. If we had been playing anything like we had before Darren had his head turned we would have come away with more points than we have.

Doesn’t sound good - long COVID?

Wish him a full recovery .

Wish him a full recovery .
He was admitted back in January where he spent 33 days in hospital. Obviously very worrying and can only wish him a full recovery, thoughts with his famiy and Shrewsbury Town where he clearly has done very well for them

Cook is almost certain to be announced in the next few days apparently. I always thought the Cowleys seemed a fit but I’d back anyone that’s not Lambert

Cook's a good choice. His teams play football the right way and generally win. I'm jealous.

Gary Roberts joined as coach after leaving Accrington via mutual consent today - not sure Accy would have been thrilled with the timing of that.. :ffs:

Things are looking better for us. We're competing.

We've decided to announce that Brady is to just remain as caretaker until the end of the season. I think there's some worry that if we hire him permanently and then immediate have to sack him by going down it'll be difficult to reitingrate him into the Academy, so we've gone best of both worlds, if he keeps us up he gets it permanetly, if he doesn't then he go back to his old position.

Jorge Grant looks like he's missing the rest of the season due to injury. Such a shame as he's been fantastic this season and has been a real pleasure to watch.

Given the timeframe on his injury without an operation, it almost makes sense to just get the operation done anyway.

Typical that Anderson makes the bench for the first time in weeks and then gets injured again in the warm-up...

We had an "interesting " virtual Fans Forum last night, at which it emerged that we've given BBM a 12 month contract extension but that some Directors didn't even know. Nor has it been announced anywhere.
BBM actually corrected a Director who said that his contract finished in May this year.

Our once thriving lottery; the envy of most clubs in the EFL now brings in £20k p.a where it used to bring in £250k. it was recently re-vamped and out-sourced by the CEO, despite huge opposition from fans.

We made about £1.5m profit for the last financial year due to player sales and cup runs, but this will all have been wiped out and more by covid.

Our Interim Chairman is very ill. We all wish him a speedy recovery.

Our much maligned CEO broke down in tears twice (or did he...some debate if he was acting or not) I'm not sure either way.

Mundane questions, including several each from two people were asked and debated fully.

More difficult questions were not asked, despite ones about the CEO and the recent USA interest being sent in by several people.

All in all; I'm very worried about the club, and whether we will even exist in 2 years. Season ticket numbers are very likely to fall significantly due to Covid and the running of the club by the CEO.

New blood and new ideas are needed on the Board quickly.

When you say CEO, are you referring to David Bottomley or is he the Interim Chairman you mention? I'm just a bit confused who's who at Rochdale at the moment.

Jon Taylor ruled out for the rest of the season, Bogle and Bostock definitely missing for the Northampton game and probably Oxford. Okenhibirie and James are touch and go for Saturday so could still be without a Striker unless there’s someone in the U18’s that could step up.

David Bottomley is our CEO despite, it would appear, not having any background in football, and a somewhat questionable business past (it's all in the public domain... google David Bottomley Hasbro) He "stepped up" to the salaried position in mysterious circumstances when James Mason (a very highly thought of CEO) resigned after a week in the job.

The interim Chairman is Andrew Kelly, but it appears that he is currently seriously ill. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Our previous Chairman resigned about a month ago, but in truth was never interested in the position, and lives 200 miles away. I doubt we'll see him again. He inherited his late fathers shares, and it's thought he didn't put any real money into the club.

The bottom line is that we appear to be adrift both at the bottom of the league table, and also in a leadership manner. we currently have 4 main Board Directors, two of whom are getting on, the CEO and a relative newcomer.

This from the club who have been really well run for decades (until Bottomley was appointed a Director, when a series of odd business decisions started)

New blood required on the Board at Dale, and a culling of someone in position at the moment imho.

Thanks. I've met David Bottomley a couple of times, so wondered if he was CEO or Chairman. I thought he was also one of the principle shareholders though?

How’s Bogle been getting on? He seems to have done absolutely nothing with anybody since he left here.

Early days, we signed him and he had Covid, played a few games now out with a hamstring injury. He seems to fit our style of play, holds the ball up well bringing others into play and his work rate is excellent but he does appear to lack confidence in front of goal. He’s bagged a couple but should have scored at least 5 more.
