There seems to be more creativity in the accounts departments of most championship clubs than there is on the field of play. FFP is being flagrantly ignored so perhaps it has to change to being a percentage of gate reciepts and gates announced as being the actual attendance and not some fantasy figure like some clubs announce.
I don't think there is FFP as such is the Championship? They continually vote against anything that sails close to it, which is why the PL refused to help them during Covid, but did help L1 and L2.

And also why talks between the PL and EFL around a better distribution model is at a deadlock because the PL won't agree to anything until financial measures are in place for them and why half of the Championship in 2021 spent more on wage than their turnover. It's a ticking timebomb.

Absolutely pissed off with these international call up postponements. They messed us about last season, and this one is definitely not what we would have wanted, having just appointed a new manager. We now find that Morecambe away on Saturday takes on added pressure to get something out of it, as we won't play for 14 days and, we could see others picking up points and overtaking us during our lay off, meaning that our games that follow become "must win" games.

Who have Cheltenham got that are internationals, by the way?

Haven't really focused on the relegation battles this season but I really would like to see Oxford go down unless their new manager drastically changes their approach. The ugliest side I have seen for many a year and I'm glad it's not worked for them this season.

Luke Southwood for Northern Ireland - number 1 goalkeeper who has kept 14 clean sheets this season
Elliott Bonds for Guyana - First choice central midfielder
Elkan Baggott for Indonesia - back up central defender.

To be honest, I'd agree if all 3 players were akin to Baggott, but Southwood especially would be a massive loss for us so I'm glad Indonesia made the late call up for Elkan.

That's a coincidence, as I would really like Ipswich to stay down this year (just like they usually do). Nothing to do with the team or manager, more to do with them having some of the whiniest fans in League One.

I love the random Oxford/ Ipswich beef on this forum!
Weird for two clubs that are so far apart from each other and rarely in the same division...mind you, we will be back with Grimsby and Tranmere next season, which should be interesting!

They built a fancy new stadium (helped by the fact that Dave Whelan also owned the rugby league team who can actually fill it) and had a spell in the Premier League and have now kidded themselves into believing they're a top second tier club that should be enjoying regular excursions into the top flight and for whom relegation to the third flight can be seen as an aberration. But they're not. They'd never even played as high as the second tier until I think 2004, and we've spent more seasons in the top two divisions than they have. Since being elected to the league they've established themselves as a third/fourth tier club and have only recently gotten higher than that through unsustainably chucking money at it, and the sooner they accept that the better for themselves.
I agree with all of this and don’t disagree they are a little club with a nice ground (see Reading for a similar example). But they weren’t really in any financial trouble when they were put into administration, there were rumours of an Asian betting syndicate being involved and massive amounts of fraud - the rumours were they were put into admin to ensure they got a 10 point deduction as without it they would have stayed up and the syndicate would have lost their bets. It was a mental situation.

Sad day for fans of Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol Rovers today learning of the news a truly great legend has passed away -- Don Megson. Only coming after a week or so since Colin Dobson died.

AHH it's not Tranmere and Grimsby disliking each other, it's those 2 disliking you guys, especially your owner.
Do like the Tranmere fans name for him...Stale Mince

We used to have long-running beef with Barnet, to the extent that not that long ago one of those surveys asking fans 'who are your clubs rivals' saw Barnet fans rank us as their third biggest rivalry.

Marcus Reynolds has been appointed our new CEO. Seems to have a decent CV and has held some pretty good positions in sporting bodies in New Zealand.

Who were their top 2 out of interest?
They seemed to have a bit of a rivalry with us during our conference season...seemed to dislike the fact we sold out many of the grounds down there

I didnt think they had one as they latched onto us when we both got promoted. Weird fanbase they hated us after despite winning the title.
We obviously didnt give a fuck, bigger fish to fry and all that.

Weird one, whenever we played them they didn’t really have much in the way of support up here for any issues.

That said seeing Edgar Davids in league two was weird. Our lads booted him to bits and he still oozed that quality.

In this era when bang average players get labelled club legends it is sad to see when a proper legend passes on.

Mind I have beef that Don was a big influence on pulis and that was why he took the job at ours...

For anyone who likes a flutter I've just got 1/100 on Oxford to not score and time waste for 15+ mins.

Printing.

Jevani Brown had his court case this morning.
Pleaded guilty on one charge of assault, not guilty on another.

Trial at Exeter Crown Court on July 7th.

Typical, the one time you guys could potentially do us a favour against a few of our rivals your best player ends up in prison
