I still think City will win the league with aplomb. Forget about their last two results, they'll be five points clear at the top if they win their game in hand and it would probably take an incredible run from two of the chasers to dislodge them from the top two.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a four-way battle for 2nd.

Your first point is very true, we've only picked up one more point than you in four games. So Ask yourself why are we still sitting nicely at the top whilst you have dropped out of the auto places?? Its because our results prior to this little "blip" (if you can even call it that) have been so good that we've built ourselves a nice little cushion on which to fall back on if we run out of steam. That is "whats protecting us thus far" not other teams dropping points. Our shite form could continue and you'd still need to make up seven points on us, and Preston nine. (Not concerned about MK Dons.)

As for your third point, who was top of the league before Smith arrived here? It was us.

Really will be a struggle to do that without Alli (our top scorer with 14 goals) and Martin (best keeper in the league based on clean sheets - 14 in 28 games).

I'm not making any predictions, if we somehow grabbed second it will be because Swindon and MK fuck their seasons up rather than us being good.

not sure if id want PNE in the playoffs or automatic (assuming we don't achieve a miracle and make 2nd ourselves). On the one hand id fancy our chances against other teams more in the POs and we seem to stalk each other through the leagues (positive omens and all that) but on the other hand you're one of the only teams worse at POs than ourselves. L1 always seems to have interesting ends to the season.
