If you don't win on Friday I couldn't see anything but both us and Swindon winning. What an opportunity it would be.

Well, may as well start off at the top by congratulating Bristol City on promotion back to the Championship. They've been the best side in the league by a mile this season, deserve to go back up. With the new stand and infrastructure coming, maybe they can get properly established in the championship again. They would wrap up the title on Saturday with a win against Coventry. Preston continue to sit in pole position for automatic promotion, but MK Dons and Swindon aren't giving up just yet. It looks that how each team does against the relegation threatened teams will decide who goes up in 2nd. Prestons to lose now, can they handle the pressure?

Sheff U continue to limp towards securing a PO spot. After winning 4 in 5, they've now only managed 1 point from Oldham and Yeovil. Hardly the sort of form they need to be in to get promoted, especially when you consider the hex the play offs hold over them. Chesterfield are on a real roll at the moment and look set to grab 5th spot from Sheff U. Although to be honest, wouldn't they be best advised to try their best to match up with MK Dons in the play offs, not Swindon? If of course its those 2 who finish 3rd and 4th of course. I mean, Chesterfield don't want to play Swindon, who did the double over them this season do they? They would much rather play MK Dons surely, who they have beaten 3 times out of 4 this season, including winning 3 on the trot at Stadium:MK.

Rochdale's bid for a play off spot was dealt a big blow as they got hammered at home to Swindon. They would still make a charge, but it looks like both Sheff U and Chesterfield will get over the line and secure those final 2 spots. Fleetwoods inconsistencies have cost them this season, but for both them and Rochdale, potential finishes in the top 10 are excellent achievements for the pair. I suppose by rights I should include Bradford and Donny in this thread as they both could still catch Sheff U and Chesterfield. However, neither look like doing that, so it seems pointless.

We have our first past the post in Bristol City. Still legs in the top 2 race, but the top 6 race is probably done, could be wrapped up as soon as Saturday if Sheff U and Chesterfield win. Then its just a matter of working out who finishes where.

Squeaky bum time to say the least. MK are bang in form, but we are gash at home to say the least despite only losing once in the league here.
2 away games now, usually I wouldn't be too worried, but a we are bottlers and I haven't seen us win away in about 7 years. Last win was when we beat Wolves 3-1 under Alan Irvine.

Since then I've been too:
Sheffield United
Burnley
Forest
Barnsley
Bristol City
Scunthorpe
Walsall
Huddersfield
Wednesday
Crewe
Tranmere
Coventry - JPT

1 or 2 more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
Anyway, I've got tickets to both Port Vale and Notts County as I don't work evenings or weekends anymore.
Debating not going.

We surely can't mess up now. Hopefully 6th and MK 3rd if we can pick and choose.

We don't do things the easy way, can't wait for these final 4 games.

5am minibus down to Colchester on the final day of the season could be one of those days you talk about for years.

I would fancy Chesterfield to do well in the play-offs, they were very good last night. Ok, anybody would have looked excellent against us last night but they were just as good as MK were when they put six past us. Chesterfield have already won away at MK three times this year and I see no reason why they wouldn't give Swindon a good test either if they play like that.

You have some weird obsession about us not getting promoted, worry about your own shower of shite.

I thought you'd of bottled it but youv'e proved me wrong massively so far. I had a £50 bet with my pne mate in turin the other week that you'd fuck up but apart from that i actually want you to go up. And iv'e give up on us were fucking useless im resigned to another year in this league but oh well thats life.

Got the PO's of course - but Clough is an average manager, who is going off his Dad's reputation.

I think a club like Sheffield United could do far better personally.

Not missed Doyle at all with the benefit of hindsight. Clucas is a better footballer by some margin I think.

Yesterday's result didn't really change much for us, win our last 4 and we still go up.

People say things like 'the play-offs are a lottery' which is complete bollocks. The side who deals with the pressure best, has players who perform when it matters and are the best prepared tactically win them.

So a lottery then of which team does it out of the 4. The previous 46 games mean nothing

Generally the team going into the playoffs in the best form do well irrespective of league position, so if Chesterfield keep it up I'd fancy them tbh. They're top of the form table over the last 10 games

Would like MK to go up as they've been easily the best side we've played (wasn't at the game Saturday though!) and have looked a classy outfit, after seemingly ending their hopes Saturday hopefully we can do them a favour Friday. Would fancy Chesterfield in the play offs, Sheffield United looked very poor both games against us but Chesterfield have been decent against us and their season is reminiscent of Rotherham (bar a fat psychotic manager and SERNWA (did he even come over from TFF?)). Bristol City have done well although expected with their financial input and with their new developments hopefully they can push on next season and challenge in the Championship.

Despite our ridiculously poor home performances against Chesterfield, (three times!!) I am still lurching more towards a preference of them over Sheffield United for some reason. May be United's cup form.

To be honest, we have to get 2nd. Can't see us make it past the semi finals of the Play-offs, we never do.
