Would still put us in the best position atm, a game in hand against a team who we dominated away from home which would put us 3 points clear.

MK playing scunny home or away? If scunny are at home I predict a draw.

With the firepower Dons have now and the finance Robinson has been backed with, Dons should be automatically promoted and rival City for the title. No excuses.

Buy Dele? Even if they do, it'll have to be a loan back until the end of the season. That's the starting point for negotiations, plus the rapidly rising fee now starting at £6M

Whilst this is completely unscientific, I have the feeling one of the top three teams (sorry PNE) will pull away and make the championship academic at season end, leaving the other two to fight for 2nd place.

I just can't decide which team:
+ BCFC are very good, Matt Smith and JET rediscovering his form give them that little bit extra, as if they need it, and they've strengthened.
+ MKD seem such a strong squad, this window they've compensated for losing the best striker, and Alli looks a premier league player. Are they any worse than BCFC, despite that defeat earlier this season? I can't see it, they seem evenly matched.
+ STFC are "... by some distance the best team in league one ..." said Mark Robins more or less on TFLS last night, which is very nice to hear, but unlike the other two, our January transfer window strategy is defensive. Try to keep the existing squad together, not strengthen.

So we go into late January with BCFC having the slenderest advantage, but I'm absolutely clueless what will happen next.

MK Dons hot on our heels, and did well to get a good result at home to Barnsley yesterday.

I'd expect MK to be in the top two, this is their chance, but anything can happen in football.

We're all three very evenly balanced, you'd say it would come down to head-to-head but even in that we're level, one win each.

Massive game at MK in a couple of weeks. Win that and it gives us a bit of breathing space

Trying to decide what would be the best result for us. Most people would say a draw, but I reckon a winner would be best - and probably a City win.

A couple of weak stories about our players attracting interest - Bolton re Nat Thompson, which is a complete no-goer and Luongo to Cardiff, which again is just a Twitter whisper.

Only a week to go!

Odd comments by Robins seeing as Swindon arent the best team in the league and havent been yet this season, on a points per game basis. Particularly as he hasnt played them yet.

However others have made similar noises so maybe Swindon are the real deal. Still confident we will go up but all 3 are doing fantastically well to average 2 points per game. Surely unheard of for a team not to be promoted with 92 points?

Suppose what he means are that Swindon have produced some of the consistently best performances in his opinion

From now until the end of February is key to MK's promotion bid. Six out of the next eight games are on the road and the two home games are the reverse fixtures of the only two away games lost this season.

Can't you lot start a Big Play Off thread? It's far more cluttered than it needs to be on here. There's four of us in it right now and that should be enough.

Jus' Sayin'..,
Is that the four teams who have managed two draws and two defeats between them against us? We're in here on merit, for the moment.

Anyway, the playoff fred is festooned with over-excited Doncastrians at the moment. Tbh, that's worse than the marital bickering of Swindon & Brizzle, the pessimism of PNE and even the smugness of Fenny Stratford United.

Staying here for the long run...

Clough would manage the Chelsea squad to mid table though so I don't think the top teams will be quaking in their boots yet.
