Young goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira joins on a month's loan from Man Utd.

Portuguese U19 international, with "flamboyant distribution" according to Sir Keef. I think the idea is he is on the bench forthe first team whilst young Diba gets some game time Iin the youth team. Might get a run out in the Paintpot, I suppose.

Good signing if true however we have nothing to go on but Tony's word at the moment.

He said: "Someone told me he signed for Bury this morning so if that's the case we wish him well.
"We need to speak to him about that. I enjoyed him for a week but we wish him well at Bury.
"Maybe location may have been a factor, I don't know."

Sounds a bit vague tbh.

Wanted 6k a week apparently to someone who called the Cole loan and Vincelot signing. So Bury just signed him with no training sessions or proof of match fitness? Mowbray said he'd make a decision in 2-3 weeks because his fitness is way behind everyone else.

We'll have to see. We won't be getting promoted anyway.

@buryfcofficial: Bury FC can confirm that Chris Eagles has signed for the club until the end of the current season, details on line soon #buryfc

Seems like a deal where he puts himself in the shop window for a bigger club in the future while he gets back on his feet here. Good signing.

A little disappointed Eagles didn't sign for us, but I knew it wasn't going to happen after Cole signed.

We have loaned George Evans from City for a month. Central player from what I've read either in defence or midfield. Is he any good Crewe/Scunny fans?

Big boots to fill considering our season erupted on Saturday with injuries.

I quite liked him. I think a few of our fans didn't really rate him but it was clear that there is real potential there. He isn't the most mobile CM in the world but he is a very good passer.

Nice, that's probably something we could do with right now.

The best word to describe George Evans from the time he was at Crewe would be naff, he's absolutely naff.

I imagine he has improved a lot since then, it had been 2 years.

Or at least I hope so. We do tend to get the best out of players, Yeovil told us Hiwula was dogshite and then after 6 months with us he went to Huddersfield decent money.

Doesn't sound so great then. I'll wait until I see him as Smith has enough 'in the bank' to suggest he can pick kids from clubs where they haven't been a success previously and then get the best out of them. Hopefully Evans is one of them.

How did we do at your place the other day? I never saw a thread. Sounded like a bit of a smash and grab but I'll take it, as we've looked truly dreadful this season so far

People saying cole will be kicked about etc , i see where you are coming from ..however we have some of the smallest forwards in the league in armstrongand kent that manage with the phsicality just fine .
You would have to assume if match fit he will definitely offer something to the team

We've had Nathan Byrne, Alex Pritchard, Massimo Luongo to name 3 over the past couple of seasons. Nothing to any of them stature wise, but teams struggled to cope. Cole will take the piss if he's anything like he was. Defenders have to get near him first.

He'll go down as one of our worst loan signings in many a year. Passing shite, no physical presence to him, went missing loads. However, as already noted, that was 2 seasons ago when our whole team were struggling. Maybe he's improved since then, dunno.

Town have been linked with Anthony Gerrard, currently a free agent.

We have signed Dean Hammond. Hopefully the physical presence in CM we need. Only taken us 3 months to get him signed

Half decent start tonight.

I didn't go, but from what I've heard/read you took your chances, rode your luck and defended well. Think we hit the woodwork 3 times, but it's the goals that count.

Good win tonight too.

Good defender but a bit of a bell.

It would be on larger than Shrewsbury wage I presume too, wasn't Mellon at the end of his budget not long ago?

I'd have Eagles at Wolves in a heartbeat. Would make for great headlines every time he scores too. But I've always rated him.

At 10/1 Coventry are good to win this division. They'll go straight back down, mind.
