The DC situation should be sorted out soon one way or another
I agree about the 'top player' bit bud but with all respect, your place is the one I don't want him to go to. He's held in very high regard by us Cidereds and I just can't see him doing that to us. By all accounts, 4 clubs have already contacted City about Waggy and I would assume, given DC's situation, you wouldn't be one of them, yet. Surely, that needs sorting before you can recruit?
He's still very popular at Charlton so that might fit. Gills is his home town club so there's another one. Yourselves and Swindon local, there's another one (he wouldn't go to you, he just wouldn't). He won't be short of offers I should think.
Waggy is one of those very good L1 players that can do a job in the Championship but isn't quite good enough to stand out at that level. He's excellent in this league though plus he's an infectious character with a great personality. I'm really sad to see him go.
The DC situation should be sorted soon one way or another but you're probably right that his association with City would make us signing him unlikely ( wouldn't totally rule it out though). He'll certainly strengthen whoever gets him.

Aber, I'm not saying he wouldn't be a superb signing for you just that I wouldn't want to see him in your colours WTGR. It would spoil our fondness for the bloke. He would be a blinding signing for you in all honesty.

Antoni Sarcevic has been linked with us, Southend.

Leaving Fleetwood when his contract expires I believe.

You've got me worried now, git!
He wouldn't, he just wouldn't (I hope).

Richard Duffy the next to jump from the sinking ship. Signed for Eastleigh, yes a non-league team are more appealing than playing for Vale.

Suppose at least the new manager will have room in the budget to bring in his own players if the exodus continues.

Top professional Wagstaff, and dare I say without him, JET and Baldock in the early parts of the 13/14 season we'd have sunk to the basement league.

Not the quickest winger, but he's technically fantastic and has an eye for a screamer. I hope he goes to a club that come up, because I'd love for him to come back to AG and get a proper send-off (unless we come down, of course).

He'll be a good addition to any squad in this league.

Not arsed about Duffy to be fair I'd have kept McGivern over him

Can he play as a 'number 10' JJH? Thinking a similar role that Ben Gladwin was for us?

We don't really use wingers so unless he can play wing-back, I don't really see us being too interested (and his wage demands I suspect are way too high to boot)

He's no world beater for sure but even so it doesn't reflect well in the last few days we've lost a loyal servant in Dodds, Duffy (who started most of the time last year) to a non-league team and that's not even mentioning O'Connor now going apparently.

Only positive is at least a new manager won't be stuck with another managers players at this rate though what he is able to replace them with is another matter.

I imagine he could do, but he didn't for us. As I said, he's not the quickest winger and I always thought he was more suited to that role, but he didn't get much of a look in with JET the first season and then Freeman our last season down here.

Would be a good signing for you, if Power agrees to pay his wages it could be quite likely as well given he could probably commute from where he's living now.

Power will only recruit players he think will turn a profit. At 26 he may well be too old as far as Power's concerned.

For me, a bit of experience would be ideal.

Would expect us to have another look at Wagstaff, played under PP at Charlton and we apparently had him all but signed 3 years ago before being gazumped by Bristol City

I'd honestly never heard of him until yesterday but Grimsby fans generally have been saying really good things about him despite him not being there all that long which is encouraging.

There's always going to a bit of a question mark as to weather he will make the jump up 2 leagues (Same with Kristian Dennis) but i'd rather the club went down the route of signing younger, hungry (get the clichés in) players from further down the footballing pyramid than do what we did last season; sign expensive, injury ravaged/way past their best flops. Shout-out to SEB and Chris Herd!

yeah definitely, Peterborough have had good success from non league players and it shows whoever is in charge of your recruitment knows what he's doing, Nolan can do everything you want in a midfielder, you could argue about his lack of goals but his overall contribution to the game cancels that argument, good in the tackle, great touch, vision, good passer, all round a really good techincal player, when he was with us he seemed a bit too complacent on the ball and just seemed to stroll about the pitch and his attitude is absolutely shocking which could hold him back.

Not sure about Dennis in L1 but definitely worth the gamble.

Wagstaff at Gills would be a very good fit.

Always rated him.

He said he enjoyed playing against you pre-match in every single one of our 867 games last season as he's got a lot of friends and family in the area. Wouldn't rule it out.

Heard Leitch-Smith might be leaving Vale for Northampton. Would make sense given how Page, unlike our great twat of a manager, managed to get the best out of him.

Billy Knott has said his goodbyes to Bradford via twitter - would expect interest from fair few clubs in the division.

We've signed Louis-Michel Yamfam from Stevenage.

Know nothing about him other than that he has impressed on trial and a lot of clubs were interested.

I'd be happy if Billy Knott was to return to Vale, although if anybody else is interested we won't be able to compete with them.

A derisory bid of £400k turned down for Bradshaw, from Preston. I'd be looking at £1m given he has a year left on his contract. For a striker who made 20 goals two seasons running with room to improve given his age. Thankfully we don't appear to be the club that needed to sell anymore, like we did a few years back when selling Deeney etc to wipe remaining debts from the Championship days.

We only enquired. No bid was made.

Was really pissed off when I found out he wasn't staying. No matter what has gone on before with temperament / attitude we wouldn't have gone up without him - and he was about the only player who didn't play like he'd just got out of bed with a hangover in the Trophy final as well. Will be hard to replace but can only wish him well.

1 year left? £1/2M is about right. He can leave for fook all in 12 months so Walsall need to think about that. Without a new contract his value will drop appreciably. Should have taken our £1.5M in hindsight as he may not sign another deal there.

Shrewsbury were after Sarcevic 3 years ago I believe so I'm not surprised he's gone there.

Was a right little shit with us, unfit, overweight, massive ego on him. Davis cancelled his contract and he had to learn the hard way at Chester. Be fair to the lad he's progressed to League One and looked a quality player in League Two. However in the few times I saw him play for Fleetwood in League One he was either distinctly average or he was off the pace even against a crap side like us!

Wish him well now he's sorted his problems out and hope he doesn't go down the Matt Tootle route for Shrewsbury...
